My mileage - my lower priced knives tend to get much more use than the expensive ones.

I have had my Spitfire for a couple of years now and love it. It is an excellent knife for 30 bucks and made in the USA. I have had zero problems with mine to date.

My 10 year old son rocks this in straight edge orange and beats the crap out of it. Hes had it over a year. A kid using a knife tests it best believe me. They put it through everything and he loves it. Great blade

I'm a Farmer and I only use small, lightweight folders carried loose in pocket all day (remove the clip immediately), I abuse them, I only buy high value knives, but I only have a few, I only buy for occupational use not for collecting/recreation. These are the types of knives I want more reviews of. Thanks and keep em coming!

I do have a high value knife collection fitting your description. My current favorite EDC is a Boker Plus AK74 auto with the AUS8 drop point blade. I cracked it open, polished all moving surfaces and re-oiled everything inside. That really helped smooth up the action and allows me to tighten it up and get a better lock-up.

I did all the splicing at a commercial fishing company for about 3 years. those "cheap" buck knives always did better for me than anything else in that same price range. can't go wrong!

Good entry level knife. All 3 of my kids, 7,9, and 11 yoa (2 girls one boy) are interested in whittling etc. I'm just starting then out learning the basics with my own knives, including opinel. But this could be a starter knife for them when they are ready.

I have the same knife with the "Lew's" logo stamped on it only it has no serrations it's only a blade edge on it. Lew's is giving them away as a mail in rebate with the purchase of any of their high end reels. It's a great little fishing/ camping knife for me! Very strong lock and simple. I love mine!

I've got a blaze orange one with the serrations that I won in a bass tournament! I own many other knives as well... I use this knife often actually and it performs well! Its slim, functional and the serrations work pretty well for me. it's a knife your not afraid to ruff up. Had it for a year still holding up strong!

Love the KRV's! I have kind of come full circle in collecting. I had over 50 + high value knives before I began to liquidate the majority and move into HEC. After all owning every variation of tenacious is a little over kill. Lol About a year ago I found myself using my house keys to open some packages at work because I did not want to dirty my new xm18 and I realized, like an idiot, that I no longer owned a knife I was actually comfortable with using. So I began revisiting the high value knives searching for usable and practical edc's. After much deliberation I have found that the Manix 2, Mini Grip, Contigo and frn Cara Cara 2 are now the only knives I will regularly carry depending on my day. HEC's are only for going out, impressing friends and fondling while I am watching TV. Lol

Yes on the Hi Value Collection. I've been collecting for 50 yrs. and generally I have $50 as my limit. I do have some that are more and some that expensive but I didn't pay over $50 for them. For most of my life I've had a Buck Stockman in my pocket and a Buck 110 on my hip. Keep up the video's, I really enjoy them.

I don't have more than 30, more like 20-25, but most all of my knives are high value. I love getting great value from a knife and haven't had a need for something that costs more. I love some of the big $$ blades I just can't justify it. Looking forward to more vids in the future!

All but one of my knives are high value under $100. I don't have a big collection but it has significantly increased since becoming a TNPer. What I do have are American made Buck, Case, Leatherman or Gerber with the exceptions being Cold Steel, SOG and Victorinox. Carrying American is what I like for work but my Voyager XL is there for bigger jobs and the rest are off-work knives for light tasks. The one special knife is a one-off custom hunting knife.

I bought one of these years ago. The first time I took it out and used it was on a plastic strap you find on some carboard boxes. It cut it, eventually. However upon closer inspection the knife's edge was literally curled over. That was the last time I would ever buy a Buck.

I frequently go througb streaks where i buy and carry benchmade knives and then go back to just a plain old buck bantam or some other american made low to mid price range buck knife. Their blades are just so rugged and user friendly for the price, in my opinion. My idea of an edc knife is reliability and user friendliness, in the sence that i can sharpen it a lot easier and faster than i can my s30v benchmades. I love both brands but my bucks just take the cake for me most times.

Hello Sir - I'm new to folding knives so I've been running around youtube trying to educate myself.
    Two things:
1 - Thank you! I love your videos. A great education in each and every one.
2 - (and almost more importantly)
    THANK YOU -
for not Clearing your throat and Sniffing and Sniffling and Deep sighing and
Smacking your lips and Swallowing (something :o) as you "think" between sentences
cause you heard that "dramatic pauses" are interesting... or something...
    Anyway - Thank you.

    You are appreciated.
    Be well -

I use a Pacific Salt for my daily EDC at work along with a utility blade. Sometimes I'll have the fixed blade JX4 in my pocket.
Away from work its an Emerson Commander and Karambit. Karambit set for left hand deployment.

love the gear reviews. for me, high value is a definite criteria for edc, mainly because I'd be really pissed if I lost a 150.00 knife, let alone a 300.00 knife. for me, I can get great serviceability and quality and remain under a 50.00 price point. granted the 300.00 automatics have a high degree of second cool, but that's money I could definitely allocate to other areas of my systems. As for this Buck, it would be a maybe for me, mainly because I haven't had great luck with Buck.

for my EDC knives I switch off between a spyderco manix 2 lightweight and a spyderco salt 1. both with plain edge.

Yes definitely over 30 blades in my collection under $50. I love finding blades that function well and I enjoy having that are inexpensive. Don't get me wrong like a bunch of tnp folks I have over 30 blades way north of a $100 as well but seem to get enjoyment from all. Just sick that way I guess a knifenut for sure. Keep up the killer krv's nutn!
