Nutnfancy's ROL EDC System Part 1

  • PART 1 of 2: Here is a rundown of Nutnfancy's Every Day Carry (EDC) system under the Rule of Law. This system represents, for Nutnfancy, the best blend of capabilities and mobility found so far. Certainly there are lots of different options and methods of EDC out there with different gun, knife, and tool options some being a lot heavier and more capable than these. And if these items are indeed carried in completeness and with high regularity then I'll extend my congrats on finding a system that works for you. However with this system I have yet to see or run into any friend or cohort that has more capabilities than I do. I'm always the one fixing things, patching people up, and fulfilling the sheepdog role with this system. And, if the jurisdiction legalities permit, I always have it on me. That's because it is easy and comfortable to carry. I minimize weight and bulk and integrate most things into a quick attachable system like a quality and small fanny pack (like the Mountainsmith Vibe II shown) to greatly simplify the system. Capabilities include a semi-auto Kahr PM9 pistol with 19 rds, Al Mar Eagle knife, Leatherman S2 Juice, Streamlight Stylus flashlight, Orion whistle, flat tweezers, Neosporin antibiotic, nail file and other various hygiene items, wallet (includes some bandages and alcohol wipes), and a pen. As shown, gun is carried in a bellyband with some velcro modifications made by Nutnfancy. Downsides of this carry are slower draw and inability to re-holster easily but they are offset by the ultra concealment and comfort qualities of a good bellyband system (riding high around chest area btw). In Without Rule of Law (WROL) scenarios, the EDC will change to address possible higher threat scenarios where the threat of confrontation is higher (vids on that maybe later). These WROL situations would utilize higher and faster accessible firepower, body armor, and perhaps more substantial blade options. But for EDC ROL use, this system has proven quite effective.

    Agreed - Until you carry these items, you don't realize how handy they can be. I have a SOG power tool that sat on my dresser for two months before I started to carry it. I left it there because I didn't think I needed it. Now, I can't imagine a day without it. Same goes with a knife, and light. They just make life easier.

    American EDC are amazing. I was pissed off when the iPhone 5 was bigger. Real estate on my body is very high value. Torches, penknives ,multi tools, guns, extra mags, tweezers... And a partridge in a pear tree. How big are your pockets? I struggle with 4 keys a phone some loose change and a wallet.

    I'm a LEO and I carry an XD9 sub-compact, which I qualified with, and either a ZT 400st or a Cold Steel Recon 1 and a fenix flashlight. I also have the maxpedition versipak that is awesome for me. I live in the south where it is shorts weather most of the year and it gets hard to carry off-duty plus a knife and a light and your wallet, cellphone, commision ect. in just your pockets.

    That Al Mar Eagle actualy is the "Ultralight" 1005UBK2 model. Looks perfect for what I want, was going to buy a Benchmade 551 but this vid made me change my mind. 4"Aus-8/2 0z/good handle,thumbstuds and flatground= perfect EDC. Thank you Mr Nutnfancy

    :-) You have two extra 7 round mags and a 6 round in the Kahr. If you are doing plus 1 you have 21 rounds in all. You have great videos. Thanks for all the information you gives us.

    I have a lot of different EDC options, including TAC carbines, and I carry knives and a gun of choice every day. On the gun, I usually carry my Kahr P45, or my Taurus Millenium Pro 9, with extra mags. My Chive is around my neck, and usually my Tenacious or Flash II in my waistband. Love your vids, Nutn'...

    I carry: Class 3 machine gun with a shoulder holster, 2 desert eagles (one on each hip), an MP5K attached with a sling, I try to a grenade with a spare if necessary, I carry two maglight LED's, 2 cell phones (1 for calls and 1 for games), I keep an Ipod Touch (for movies and games), an Ipod Nano (in case i need to wait on someone), I carry a machete because you can never be to careful if you need to cut any rope or zombies. This is my typical bare minimum EDC, I would usually carry more.

    Coleman has a super bright led series called Coleman Max. They have a pocket sized 3 inch light with either push button on/off or momentary on. Light out put is 115 lumens - it's bright in the daylight! $25 at wally world. There are several versions. I got the smallest to carry and the next size 2AA for my son for camping.

    I carried a Streamlight Stylus for the longest time. Lighting became too redundant after I bought a smartphone, Zippo lighter and small red LED keylight. Now my Stylus stays in the glove box (I'll use it before my EDC stuff to conserve battery life). Great $20 or so gift idea for friends and family.

    Great video. Never occurred to me to carry a nice back up shiv. I prefer my compact 45 over a 9mm, but in the event of WROL I'd be carrying my full size 45 or 357 9 shot revolver with a machete for a back up shiv.

    Love the nutnfancy reviews and videos.
    I've been carrying the Kahr PM9 for almost 2.5 years. Mine has the black Tungsten DLC coating and it really is a Diamond Like Coating. 24/7 back pocket carry including hiking and white water kayaking. Blow of the pocket lint and it looks brand new.
    I found nutnfancy because I'm shopping for a primarily tactical knife for EDC. Leaning toward a SOG, either Trident or Aegis AE-02. I love lightweight, but I like what I get for a couple of more ounces.

  • @Eliphas_Leary

    Exactly. With no weapons in hand vs an opponent that has weapons you have so many options: you can just beat that dude up, or you can take his knife and use it against him (90% of knife injuries in combat happen with the attackers weapon stuck in the attacker), or you can use his gun against him. Some1 who relies on weapons alone is lost if stripped off those weapons. If you know how to use your body as a weapon you're always armed.

    If Illinois ever passes the CCW law. I think I'm going to go with the Jetfire because of the POU's you mentioned in your updated series of EDC videos. I wouldn't have a problem packing that on my person everyday due to its tiny size and that its better to have it than not. I'm really checking out the Kel-Tec PF9 through your videos as well.

(I like the weight control) Although I never really carry a Knife, Tool Kit and all that fun. Guess if I need to MacGyver my way out of something I'll be screwed!

    For a shotgun or a rifle, you don't need any license (at least where I live and everyone I've ever known has lived). For a handgun, in some cities, you don't need a permit to purchase, but for concealed carry, you need a Handgun License and a Carry Permit.

    Sweet stuff Bro. I have the stylus and love it. Also I've been carrying my KahrCw40 most of the time now, although I switch between the G19. I have more mags with the 19, so I have extreme firepower with it. I bring that when I think theres more of a probability of something happening. I love the Kahr though, Sometimes I forget it's there. Especially when driving, the 19 can be uncomfortable at times. Awesome 5 star vid, looking forward to P2.

    @VoidOnTuesday I'm not missing your point. The main point is it's a catchy catchphrase to remind people that banning something doesn't matter much to people who break laws. It may not be a perfect statement, but it gets the point across. If you think the statement is redundant unto itself, that's cool, and quite arguably correct, but it's still catchy.

    LOVE LOVE LOVE THE VIDEO, how you include, a compact pistol, a folding knife, an a multi-tool, not to mention the flashlight!!! who would of thought to carry a flashlight. but to be really honest 99% of people wouldn't need a multi-tool, or a flashlight for EDC. but i really like how you included these items in your video. i live in California, very liberal state, where i can barley carry a folding knife. do u have any tips on concealed carry in California, although you are a police officer

    I carry a Ruger LCP with 3 mags, a NAA black widow, and a generic spring assist 3" straight blade knife. To me name brand knives mean nothing, they are all a sharp point, as long as they can hold up and can stay sharp thats all I need. My carry system costs in all about $600. Not too bad as it makes me feel/keeps me safe. I never feel under gunned with this system.

  • @Mushu33
    @Mushu33 13 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @thekiller0673 True, running away (if the opportunity presents itself safely) is an EXCELLENT defense.
    But you can't ALWAYS run away. sometimes your with people (like children) who can't run, sometimes you're surrounded or cornered, and in the case of someone who goes postal and just starts shooting people, running away is not an option for the true sheepdog. You have to stop that person from killing any more innocent people. Best way to do that? Meet force with equivalent force. (i.e. a gun.)

    @Jtactoo Nothing at all. Everyone has different prefferences on what they like and what suites them the best. For me it's a .40 S&W Springfield. For my best friend, it's a 9MM Glock, and his wife a .380 Ruger. For my brother in law, it's a .45 Colt. In short, you're right the most of the time a gun is used it's not even fired, and the "average" gunfight is over very fast with 3-5 rounds fired. BUT, should things go differently, say multiple attackers, jacked up on drugs, w/e, the worst thing in the world is *click* when you pull the trigger, and knowing you don't have an extra mag (or two or three). Carry what you're comfortable with, but if you can manage, more ammo is good. May not use it, but you might not live to regret not having it.

Granted Ive been inFist fights before And had a knife pulled on me .I just dont think shooting(killing) is necessary , A 22'' baton would do fine in my eyes. Im only saying this for where I live;

    NutnFancy...considering that this video is 6 yrs old, do you still choose the Khar PM 9? After your excellent reviews of the Walther PPS, the Sig Sauer P938 and the Shield, have you replaced the Khar with one of these options?

    @thekiller0673 Well, Good luck with the whistle and the strobe light. I just think that most people, if pissed off enough, people can get over minor annoyances like the strobe light, and if no one hears the whistle, you're outa luck.

    Most likely when a gun is pulled out the criminal will retreat, but in the worst case scenario.....when attacked by a large group or in the middle of a firefight, you will want to have the option of an extra mag

    I'm Australian so what I said is in effect in my country, I have never seen a gun other than on a cop, not saying that criminals don't carry guns where i am.But I have never heard of a person in a home invasion style scenario.
