Great story, but does this gentleman know that his 1958 car, red exterior with black hardtop, is exactly like the 1957 BMW 507 once owned by John Derek and Ursula Andress? They had it until 1963, when he sold it to Fred Astaire., Since Derek did this without consulting Andress, and Astaire was their neighbor, (which made Andress even madder, as the car she drove everyday would be now parked in front of her eyes, but unable to drive it), the plot was set for Elvis Presley, who was making a film with Andress, to outdo them all by gifting Andress a 1958 model which he was able to find in a fortnight. That car, in feather white, had the chassis #70192. This took place in March of 1963. Here they are, at Frankfurt Airport, on the day they got the car in 1957, and even did a set of ads for BMW. Derek was well known, but Ursula was unknown outside of close Hollywood circles , as James Dean's last girlfriend. It would be 5 years before she became Bond's first girl. You know I had a rare run in with one of these many many years ago in germany, like 1996, or 1999, back before the place got ruined like it is now, and you have no idea how small this car actually is from the video you see here, its like the height of most water beds, like its that short, and its small, and maybe even smaller than a first gen miata, but wider, and much, much better looking, a miata with how ugly they are I wouldnt wish on my worst enemy, like that car is emasculation the car if their ever was one, and in looking it up, it was a white cream one, it might have been the one Elvis owned that is apparently from what I remember owned by a Museum or getting restored up there, and I just happened to catch it on a beautiful sunny day driving down the misner
like it is a beautiful car, just as beautiful as the woman that elvis gifted it to really, hence why he probably gave it to her if it was that car lol
and with how little their was made, that is a distinct possibility, like never mind running into elvis, I might have run into his actual car that he gifted to Ursula Andress lol
@Niggatron2004 Nah mate, look up the Lotus Elan, they stole the design and the concept directly from them, and their car, looks so so much better
and also Dianna Rigg had one in the avengers, plus the Lotus was the favorite car of Gordon Murray, the maker of the F1, and apparently one of the best driving cars ever made and it has a lotus cosworth engine in it if my memory serves and sounds great on full tilt
and its fiberglass so the body doesnt rust, while I think the miata does
plus the miata, yeah, cheap grey plastic, bad colors, I will say though, great economy car however if your into that

@Niggatron2004 Eh fair enough, but you seriously dont see any resemblence between the Mark 1 Mx5 and the MK1 Elan, its basically a shortened elan with a smaller trunk.
