9:16 the crocodile at my local zoo died because people threw coins in it's enclosure. It wasn't even old at all and could have lived so much longer but humans are just stupid
I remember I used to have a tiny half a gallon bowl for my betta fish… but once I found this channel it really helped me understand how big a fish tank really has to be… now my betta is living in a 15 gallon tank with a filter and heater :)

Thanks to series like this I went from keeping a betta that didn't last very long because the living conditions weren't quite suitable, to keeping a large and heavily planted tank of guppies and cherry shrimp that are absolutely thriving. @@yuzusuwu1574 I have one in a 20L and it definitely needs more space. They are super active fish. For a group of 3 I personally wouldn’t go below a 50, but 75 or larger would be better. They can get up to 12 inches long and they use every square millimeter of space you give em :) hopefully one day you can get them!!! They are awesome fishies :)
My family used to have a fish tank when I was very young, but I was too little to really appreciate it. I'd love to get back into the hobby by making my first planted tank, maybe with some shrimp... I definitely know a lot more now because of this channel and channels like this! Thanks for 100 FTRs!

The new marble pothos I bought is so pretty, it made a catfish jump out of the river near my house and flop right onto my deck! Guess that’s what I get by living next to the water. 🙊

@@soph_f16 its like that even here in New Orleans and surrounding parishes(counties) and its uhhh Louisiana the state reptile is the gator. This one guy i knew had the cops do a no knock kick in his door warrant because he had a 4 foot gator. His bond was 10k dollars. Thats really high!! He had a small bit of pot so the bond for that was like 1k dollars.

back in high-school, my biology teacher had a big, nasty, old tank/terrarium thing. big tank with plants and a fake river going through it, basically. it was pretty rancid. when the class would go down to the river to see the river life, if someone caught something substantial in a net, the teacher would bring it back to the tank. he would say things like "lets see how long it takes for it to die" and the class was pretty thoroughly weirded out. after a couple weeks of putting small river life in the tank and then never seeing them again, someone asked where all the critters kept going. the teacher walked over to the tank, reached in, and grabbed a little snapping turtle out of the tank. he said that a year ago a student caught it in the river and they put it in the tank, and its been living there ever since. the glass of the tank was too scratched up and foggy to ever see the little guy. as far as i know the turtle is still there, though probably a little bigger. i just hope the teacher cleaned that tank eventually.
They probably do hate their life in a bowl but they always seem to hang on to life just in case it gets better. Be like a betta because your life will get better.

Hey guys, I've had a really bad day. My cat (best friend of 7 years) was put down this morning. I want to make a tank in her honor because fish tanks seem to cheer me up. I want to stock it with ember tetras because she always seemed to love looking at them. Not going for pity points just wanted to vent a little bit😢
I am so sorry to hear that. I cannot imagine losing my dog (I have only had her for 2 years). I have a 10 gallon with 10 ember tetras and 2 nerite snails and have enjoyed them more than any other fish! good luck with your fish tank plans:)

Millie is super cute 😍 I would recommend getting her a lot of toys made out of natural materials that she can shred like wood and grass mats. Try to avoid materials like plastic and fabric. I’ve heard a lot of stories about parrots ingesting fabric and plastic that didn’t end well. I hate seeing people put fish in bowls and thinking they are happy, like bruh, that's the same as shoving a child in a closet and saying "They are happy and healthy!" And whats even worse is that most social media, movies, and tv shows, promote and encourage over-stocking, bowls, and irresponsable care, instead of promoting proper care and housing. There was a little diddle catfish, with one little broken fin, lived inside a dirty fishbowl until Chris took him in. He was placed inside a fish pond, with temperature control, and a thousand filtered gallons with no barf gravel at all. Now the little diddle catfish, with his little broken fin, lives underneath a pothos and has lots of room to swim. He's so very very happy, and he diddles all the day, but he's lonely by himself so add some friends below to stay!

I would recommend getting her a lot of toys made out of natural materials that she can shred like wood and grass mats. Try to avoid materials like plastic and fabric. I’ve heard a lot of stories about parrots ingesting fabric and plastic that didn’t end well.
I know it’s not my business at all, I just wanna see Millie’s cute little face even happier in her new home.

I hate seeing people put fish in bowls and thinking they are happy, like bruh, that's the same as shoving a child in a closet and saying "They are happy and healthy!" And whats even worse is that most social media, movies, and tv shows, promote and encourage over-stocking, bowls, and irresponsable care, instead of promoting proper care and housing.

There was a little diddle catfish, with one little broken fin, lived inside a dirty fishbowl until Chris took him in.
He was placed inside a fish pond, with temperature control, and a thousand filtered gallons with no barf gravel at all.
Now the little diddle catfish, with his little broken fin, lives underneath a pothos and has lots of room to swim.
He's so very very happy, and he diddles all the day, but he's lonely by himself so add some friends below to stay!
