Treating bilateral cellulitis is as bad as idra rage quitting against huk when they were just hallucinations.

Definitely a worthwhile review. I either learn something new in each of your videos, or I learn a great approach/order for a chalk talk.

Longtime fan and viewer here. I think it's hilarious and kinda beautiful that I used to watch you back in your EGSuppy days, and I'm still watching your videos today to study for my medical school exams. Please keep up the great content :)

Dn’t know if you look back at comments on previous videos, but last week I prescribed cefadroxil because of your video. Led to an interesting conversation with our ID pharmacist, so thanks!

Hi Dr.. I’m currently dealing with cellulitis as well as a superficial thrombosis on my lower left leg. I’ve been prescribed sulfameth/trimethoprim for the past couple of weeks and they’ve recently coupled it with cephalexin for the last few days. While I feel like I’ve had some improvements, I’ve been dealing with this almost 3 weeks. Do u have any suggestions I can bring to my dr?

UK here: Had cellulitus for the first time in Jan of this year, never knew what it was or what to expect so I was quite chilled about it all. Admittred to hospital and was given intravenious anti biotics for 2 days, just had a red rash on my right leg. Sent home and next moring was when the what fk is that! Big orange blister on my leg the size of the palm of my hand! Once it burst the fun started. I was given strong anti b's and lots of them, this thing took almost 3 months to go. the fluid just would stop ozzing out of my leg. Wrapped it each nigh to wake and find it soaked through. Ended up sleeping on puppy pads under my leg. Thankfully a nurse got hold of me a ran a doppler test on my leg to see if they could compress the leg. They could and once compressed it took about 2 weeks to heal. Im left with a mild red rash on my right leg complete around the from and calf. Its horrible and I have no idea how it happened which is the concerning thing

Currently suffering from hand cellulitis. It was intense nerve pain coupled with hypertension symptoms. I was given cefazolin IV and probenecid oral pills for 3 days following which I was prescribed cefadroxil for 7 days. It has been slowly improving and the swelling is less but I feel weird sensations over my entire body especially supraclavicular area and forehead/scalp. Swelling in the groin and lower back is affecting the scrotal sac which keeps pulling on the testicles giving anxiety as if they gonna twist. There are movable lump type swellings in my upper back, armpits , back of neck which I am assuming are swollen lymph nodes. It's a terrible disease.

This is so helpful as a patient who has had cellulitis mostly in lower left leg, but sometimes both - 12 times in the last 3 years!! Oh and occasionally under my eyes! 100% of the time brought on by extreme stress (lowered immune system) it's never a cut, or any of the other questions they ask me. I've been on several of these drugs you mentioned, but I'm going to write them down so I'm given the better one. Though ideally I'd love to really solve what is happening (besides the extreme stress) Why can't my body handle the stress anymore after 55 years? (I don't expect an answer - it's just an odd circumstance)

I have had this for the last 6 months. It stays for about a week or two. Then a week or two later it comes back. My body hurts so bad before its even red. I know a full day before it turns red I'm getting cellulitis. I have taken 2 meds clidomicion and i cant think other one the name the tag is ripped off the bottle. But this has been coming back like every 2-3 weeks. I stay very clean! I keep my nails clean as not to scratch an itch and break the skin open on my leg. But it keeps coming back. I cant work. The day or two before it turns red and swells up are the worst. I can deal w red swollen leg and the pain in leg. It's the body, the feeling like I need to strech "all" the time. And when I do strech out I get kinks all over the place that really hurt. My dr cant seem to get this fixed. I feel like this is gonna kill me. I'm not jusy saying that. I beleive this at the moment. What else can I do... What am I missing? I hope someone can get me some lil piece of info that could be life changing! Thank you!

but isnt bactrim ineffective in purulent infections ?? plus cefadroxil will also be a good choice in purulent non MRSA cellulitis

I'm in the UK, not the US so drug names may be different as we call them by the actual drug name, rather than a brand name, but:
2.5 days ago, in my lower leg, I had redness, swelling, pain, heat etc and have also been systemically unwell (clammy, nausea, diarrhoea, fever). They diagnosed me with Cellulitis and prescribed me Flucloxacillin (500mg, 4 x day).
But the infection is looking WORSE and I feel more systemically unwell and also it has started leaking a brown-grey fluid.
Is this just a part of it healing, or do I need to go back to the ER?

Nope! I don’t think I’ve seen that being done in clinical practice and I’m not aware of any recommendations for it
