    The most precise video I’ve ever seen on maintaining this part of the Altima!

    This is the oil change for the 2.5L 4 cylinder. The 2.0 take 5w30 at 5 quarts. Just for clarification

    • @aftermathgarage
      @aftermathgarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, yes it is the 2.5 since it is more commonly found in the Altima in general. Would like to drive a 2.0, but were moving on from Nissan with the constant issues we are having with them.

  • @alexmateo2662

    Thanks for the info . It was exactly the amount of oil you stated . Thought it was 4.75 quarts .

      I'm glad you found our video! Yeah I thought it was a lot when I did the first oil change for an Altima, but my 2020 Mustang GT takes 10 quarts so anything is possible!
      Thank you for you comment as well

    Thank you for this video! I just did the oil change by myself. I would have also appreciated links to the stuff you used - for example the tool kit, which brand and type of oil filter you used.

    • @aftermathgarage
      @aftermathgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry about the links. The oil filters I use on all newer Nissan's are the STP S6607XL filters, and I use Monil 1 0w20 engine oil on them as well.

    Good video but you didn’t say if you put in conventional or full synthetic oil in the car or does it matter

    Hey man! Good informative video! Thanks , how’s your Altima holding up? I currently have 15,000 on my 2020 awd and love it since day one, any issues so far? Heard some bad things about the cvt but I heard Nissan fixed this issue.

    • @aftermathgarage
      @aftermathgarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah my raido volume knob doesn't work like it should, and my XM doesn't work 85% of the time, but all in all the car is great at 56,000 miles! Just make sure that every 60,000 miles you have Nissan service the transmission with O.E. fluid and you will never have transmission issues!
      Also only use O.E. parts on the car. Hitachi is the O.E manufacturer for the majority of sensors and ignition coils.

      Im at about 15k miles. Got stuck in a blizzard out in Colorado. Every service/warning light that exists came on. Once the car thawed by the next day, she was back to normal.
      Edit: Car was trapped in blizzard for 10hrs btw.

  • @tousshong9438
    @tousshong9438 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I just pickup a 2020 Altima and I learn the hard way that if you don't change the oil when it notify you and keep press OK to further delay it then ECU making the check engine light comes on and throw you error code P0015. LOL... Look it up on good trusty TH-cam and it say to change the oil plus one other method to clear it. Changes the oil drive few miles and check engine light gone.

    • @aftermathgarage
      @aftermathgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's strange, never heard that before! That code comes back to a variable vale timing solenoid, which could explain a lot! I know with their adaptive oil system it picks up on the viscosity of the oil and changes the system milage its self to determine when the best time to change you oil. Nissan told me to wait the 10,000 miles to change mine, but I have it set to 5,000 as well!

      I have quite a few modifications in my Nissan Altima SR 2019, but I want to ask a question about a chip tuning that I bought, they guaranteed me that it is especially for my vehicle because their products are unique for each vehicle in its year and model, I just can't find the OBD2.!

    as your Altima had any CVT issues? how many miles does it have now?

    • @aftermathgarage
      @aftermathgarage  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well I couldn't tell you, because we traded that one in on a Murano back in 2021! Up to that point, no! Now we have a 2022 Midnight Edition Altima SR!! I misses that car so bad! I will say this, ONLY LET NISSAN SERVICE THE TRANSMISSION!! If some other shop does it, go buy the Nissan fluid!! These off the shelf CVT fluids are NOT compatible with the Nissan CVT transmission! It will cause catastrophic damage to the transmission

    I got my car from a dealer and they told me that I have to take it to a concessionaire to change the oil. Do you have to do that? Or may I just change it by myself?

    • @aftermathgarage
      @aftermathgarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah you don't unless they are looking at the warranty on the car. If you do it yourself KEEP ALL RECEIPTS!! That way if you need any warranty work done you can show them that you have been doing yourself.
      Unfortunately for me my car is already out of warranty, so I just do it myself!

    Does the tpms relearn the new position of each tire automatically or do you need a scan tool?

    • @aftermathgarage
      @aftermathgarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on vehicle! My Altima does not relearn at all. Now that being said, if you have a discount tire near you, they usually do it for free

    • @aftermathgarage
      @aftermathgarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Where the XM cuts out when you have nothing blocking the signal. I'm pretty sure they fixed it on the 20's, but man it makes me want to sell the car! I'm going to order an aftermarket receiver for the XM and see if that fixes it. My Nissan dealer told me I had too many miles on the car for them to fix mine.

    If I change the oil filter that they put in the car dealerships for one of the K&N brand, would it be better or worse?

    • @aftermathgarage
      @aftermathgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same. Some people will argue this, but all the oil filters are made on the same assembly line. Here's the difference though. The standered filters do not use synthetic fibered cardboard internally. So K&N is going to be the same as an extended life filter.
      So the answer is, yes use an extended life filter whether it be STP, Mobil 1or K&N when using synthetic oils

  • @sandylister
    @sandylister 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nissan told me that some one cut the skid plate to change the oil. does this happen. Nissan said yes oil change say they don't.

    • @aftermathgarage
      @aftermathgarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it does and it don't stop there. I've talked with people who have cut holes in their trunks or truck beds to change their fuel pumps! All because they didn't want to lower it down

  • @davidbulls9
    @davidbulls9 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    U know how to replace fuel filter?

    • @aftermathgarage
      @aftermathgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is internal on the fuel pump. Due to ethanol in all fuels it will break down the in line filters

    • @aftermathgarage

      Nah no bags, but if I can find lowering springs that retain the driveability of the car now, then yes! That thing corners like a sports car! Jacob and I gave a C5 Corvette a run for it's money in Blairsville this past Saturday. He couldn't get away from us in the corners

    How do i change the injector on nissan altima 2019

    • @aftermathgarage
      @aftermathgarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh that's a good question! With the direct injection engines it's a little harder and I currently do not know for sure! I hate to say that, but it is beside the spark plug on what ever cylinder you are working on! I would almost bet that the valve cover has to come off to get to it though

    • @aftermathgarage
