Agreed in full. Our 23 F-350 dually has less than zero issues with that kind of weight. SRW will definitely get squirrely when the pin weight gets up there though
I’m looking for to do some towing with my Dodge Cummins. I have a 2008 Dodge ram 2500 with a 6.7 Cummins. It’s been deleted in straight pipe cold air intake. I’ve been put in heads studs and I’ve been pulling 3 tons of hay with it. Big red needs a little work here and there. I think I need to put airbags on the back and replace all the shocks I like to put a compound turbo on it, I might get better fuel mileage with itwith the tuner.
One of the biggest safety issues I have with trailers is, the electric brakes. Any trailer over 10,000 GVW should be mandatory electric over hydraulic disk brakes. The basic little electric brake system with the magnets should not be allowed. The stopping power, heat resistance and non fading of the electric over hydraulic disk brakes is no comparison to the electric brake system. It’s the closest thing to air brakes for us.
I wonder how long it will be before you guys get hit with the new bs gooseneck trailer rules? I’m in BC and any gooseneck trailer with an overall length of 41ft (32.5’ deck) must meet the requirements/definition of a tractor. That means the tow vehicle needs to have a net weight of over 8800lbs and the trailer has to be connected via a 5th wheel/king pin.
Like Blake said, the flicker is from the refresh rate of the screen and the framerate of the camera as well as the scanning the camera does for each frame it takes.
I blame the auto manufactures marketing dept and the constant "war" to have the highest tow ratings, to make sales (at the expense of EVERYONES safety).. I have seen SO many guys over the years who think that if they have a ball hitch on their truck and the trailer has a ball hitch, they can tow it! 1/2 ton trucks towing 8-9000#+ with no trailer brakes etc.. unfortunately the highway patrol doesn't stop them and check, like they do with commercial vehicles..

I’ve yet to experience that, I’m only towing 16 so maybe it’s not heavy enough
Safety should be #1 for all of us! Thank you sir
Tell the new brown immigrants that!!!!

Would you ever run a Ram 5500 in your fleet? especially with the de-tuned 6.7 to extend service life.

Wow the flicker on the dash would drive me nuts. Old fashion gauges are much better than this led crap.
It just because it’s being recorded with a camera. You can’t see it with your eyes.
