Read the DC ALL IN Special that came out this week. It'll make sense. Every one is in a world counterintuitive to what we know. They'll have to be who we recognize despite their worlds.
Anyone whose paid any attention to dc AT ALL in the last oh i dont know 30 years or so knows that wondie is barely even relevant in sales let alone the future of dc homie. the futre of dc is and always will be batman
I don't pick up much DC these days, but I did order the new Absolute comics, I'm excited to see what they do with it. I like your level-headed view on the matter. Let's see how the actual comic story delivers.
Kelly Thompson is currently writing Scarlett from the Skybound GI Joe universe, which is the worse one in my opinion, She literally takesbout multiple ninjas in one issue. I just don't care for her writing, she needs to do a little homework on the characters she's going to be writing!
@bobbymack3636 I'm reading Scarlett as well. Definitely the weakest title from Energon so far. It's definitely not bad tho. From the WW interview she did, it definitely sounds like a lot of effort and work has gone into this. Here's to hoping she sticks the landing. Thanks for checking out the video. 🤙🏼
I'm no fan of the writer, but this is a different take on Wonder Woman so I'll give it a shot. However, I have the feeling of "I have Lady Death at home".
I am one of those few comic fans who will actually read this before developing an opinion. Visually, I don't like the tattoos, it might have been edgy in the 90s but I find it screamingly typical now. The rest of the outfit is rather indistinct, witbout going back to look at it I am picturing a bunch of maroon and navy blue rags failing to produce a silhouette. I do like the silver 'New 52' treatment of the emblem. Those are just first glance fashion commentaries though, I want to see what is actually going on inside this book. A version of Diana who is looking for paradise instead of being from it sounds interesting. Let's see.
Fair point. I believe the suit she is wearing in this is all very purposeful, and we will get to see why and how it plays into the character. Really hoping it's good. Thanks for checking out the channel.
@@LegionofComics You are so welcome, I subscribed. I love Wonder Woman, and this was the fist video of yours I've seen. I actually looked closer at the costume, the abdomen has some nice detail. Diana is usually so sleek, this has layers, hm. What I am really chomping at the bit to check out is the witch angle. 🧙♀️
@@LegionofComics Aw, sorry, I have to amend my previous reply, you liked a comment someone made containing a gay slur, so as a homosexual, you have lost my interest and I will be unsubscribing.
@MichaelJosephRojas fair enough. I acknowledge everyone's comment and respond with a formulated response versus blocking or deleting. I don't shut anyone out or censor and allow everyone to show their colors for all to see. Its the only way to truly see who people are. I still appreciate you coming thru.
@MichaelJosephRojas the witch angle is also the most interesting to me as well. Especially since it's the biggest deviation from what we're so familiar with. The series has a lot of potential.
Kelly Thompson is an excellent writer, wrote best Black Widow ever, great Captain Marvel, Hawkeye (Kate Bishop), Birds of Prey has been good, so give her a chance. As for the Absolute Universe it is obviously a rip-off of the Ultimate Universe. I am sure DC editors saw the success of the Ultimate Universe and said, gee, we need to do something like that. Last point, obviously Wonder Woman would be feminist, can't believe anyone would be upset by that.
@larrysmith7301 I'm all in for it. These days because reason outside of Comics, some words will run people off. WW is most certainly meant to be a femist icon from her forst appearance. Still has to be handled well and be a leading f example and not preachy. I'm pumped for it.
WW is very sacred to me. She is a KIND person who wants to HELP. I dont see that happening here. so its NOT WW. I will buy it and read it of course to give it a chance and maybe i can enjoy it as a random fantasy book.
@JMan77 that'll be happening. There more than one way to help people. She is also a warrior. So hopefully Kelly balances it well. Tom King sure as hell is. Kelly had big shoes to fill considering this will run parallel with TKs run.
None of these hero’s are the ones we know this is going to be like an Anti-hero version of everyone we know morals are out the door in this universe it’s not Boy Scout univers is anti life strivers
From what I’m understanding about the Absolute concept, they’ll very much be who they are at the core. It’s all of the surface aspects of the characters that have been changed. I think she’ll very much be the WW we all know and love at her core. I’m excited for Absolute WW and I haven’t been excited about a new comic in a long time. Especially from the Big 2
@tawaynepalmer4296 fair enough. I don't believe that she's be on the side of Hell. Similar to the Spawn or Ghost Rider character who came out of hell and fights against it.
So she's inspired by Wonder Woman stories that a lot of people didn't really care for A lot of people didn't care for earthworm because of the hyperfeminist message and the contradictions dead earth look it so ugly that nobody really gave it a chance and how it kind of made Wonder Woman look like a bad person Wonder Woman historia nobody cared about it because it was another one of those trying to retcon the history of Wonder Woman and trying to talk about how much men suck and women are amazing beautiful artwork though and those were the inspiration for absolute Wonder Woman yikes! I don't know if this is going to be a good one It might be a week title honestly because all of these changes for Wonder Woman been happening in the past couple of years and even in the main continuity just seems like they can't keep history or a vocal point for Wonder Woman without it turning into some hyperfeminist lesbo nonsense that nobody cares about.
@treymykel most people slept on Dead Earth because it's format. The writer/artist is one of the biggest creators in the game. Historia, I skipped just because I didn't really care have to go back and check it out. As far as dead earth goes she just staed stories like(elseworld) that existing paved the way ahead of this for having different interpretations of the character. Not that it influenced this book. It's trying a difficult task to write these characters that have been around 80 years. Also, important to remember, the entire point of the Absolute line is that it isn't the main universe. It has to be different to even matter. I hope they stick the landing.
@@treymykel I am very certain Wonder Woman fans who use slurs when speaking about lesbians are coming from the right place. Well done, not an ignorant rant at all.
