    I think a lot of the stigma around TRT bleeds over from the bodybuilding and fitness community. People advertise for products (training programs, supplements) using their physique as the selling point and simply lie about being natural. There is also the fact that regular people who do not train doesn't realize that all these athletes and movie stars are enhanced, even if it is obvious when you have some experience.
    I don't think there is anything wrong with bringing your testosterone levels into what would be a normal range for you as long as it is done in a safe manner. Huge respect to people who are upfront about it to be honest.

    • @talkjitsu
      @talkjitsu  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed 100%. Anything for the dollar. " use this supplement." Meanwhile they're running a stack of steroids. I think people would be more open about their use if people weren't as critical about their use. I often see people on reddit blasting trt users.

    Steroids not being against "the rules" was quite cringy to listen to, surely there are anti-doping policies in use in most federations. Black belts approving steroid use in competitions as everyone's own business is pretty sad to listen to.

    Thanks for this podcast I’m always looking forward to a new episode! Quick bit of advice would be to hand off responsibilities in terms of editing etc etc because essentially all your needed for is the BJJ stuff so your overloading your self with stuff that you don’t need to be doing.
    Main focus should just be on filming then off load the other bits, leaves you more time for content without getting bogged down

    I'm enjoying the podcast, wasn't aware there was audience input! I like it. Funny thing for me is I'm totally opposite, I avoid promotions bc I don't want a stripe, I feel its temporary recognition that has been introduced to help keep people in a gym so they feel like they're progressing. I just want the color change, no stripes needed, and willing to wait however long my coach deems necessary. Totally respect those who want striped and use this ladder of progression though.

    Hi guys,
    I am enjoying the podcast. Great discussion, and I agree with you advice to the elders...
    As a 49 yo hobbyist brown belt, I feel that picking your rolls and moderating intensity is important for longevity. Some days, I don't roll with the big, athletic, competition blues and purples. Browns and blacks are fine to roll with, unless they are in comp prep. Some days I only drill and work with lower belts and the aged, and some days I feel fiesty. :)
    Nutrition and proper sleep are critical for me, as well as some mobility training and very moderate S&C.

  • @badxradxandy

    Agree with you guys on TRT and good point about sleep apnea, Jordan. Getting both of those things addressed really changed my life for the better.
    Everything is a PED. Adderall, coffee, sleep, Albuterol, allergy medicine. It's not "fair" that some things have a stigma but it is what it is. I see it changing though.

    Kind went down the steroid rabbit hole lately just cause it interested me, and I know guys in the corps who abused.
    Personally I think HRT is a good but the HGH, tren and anabolic steroids I have an issue with. They not only mess up your body but they have an impact on your mental health.
    That worries me especially since open use would just create an escalation war. And well younger atheletes would be even more incentivized to abuse.
    I think the testing did clean up MMA quite a bit. Sure guys still abuse but it's not the level of the early UFC.

    • @talkjitsu
      @talkjitsu  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree. I wouldn't want to take all that and mess up my physical and mental health but if others want to risk it it's all good with me. You're right the UFC isn't as bad as it was. It used to be insane. Pride too.

    • @justin8865
      @justin8865 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@talkjitsu thanks for the reply, thinking deeper about it for a minute perhaps they should legalize and regulate it. (That's how I feel about most drugs) That way you could keep an eye on it and have atheletes get blood work constantly and medical advice.
      On the other hand when they go wrong they go really wrong the mental health side is really disturbing, paranoia, over or under sex drives, secretive behaviors and dishonesty.
      Not to mention enlarged harts. Watching more plates more dates channel on natty or not is enlightening and worrysome.
      Then there's the take well this locks out atheletes who cant afford high quality stuff to be fair though you could argue about coaches and high level schools.
      Then on top of all this there's the futurology way of thinking. Well researched PEDs could push us to a new phase. Just like augmentation or medicine.

    Great podcast guys. Regarding TRT. There are serious health risks to consider before taking the treatment. It's not a magic bullet. Yes, it might help you keep up with the younger students but during recent studies it's shown to higher the risk of heart attacks, strokes, prostate cancer and sleeping disorders.
