Thanks for the video 😊 You were pretty much spot on with the main messages from the songs. Soyeon wrote "Allergy" taking a lot from her own experience, and in one interview said she has had a 'mirror allergy'. When she began in the industry, especially during her trainee years on Produce 101 and Unpretty Rapstar 3, she received a lot of hate for her looks - she said on multiple occasions that she "knows she's ugly". It was heartbreaking. Soyeon said that Yuqi was her inspiration for "Queencard" because she is always confident and believes in herself, no matter the situation. She said that being confident in who you are makes you beautiful. She was also inspired by a comedy where the protagonist was a large woman that was blaming her blaming her situation on not being pretty. One day she hits her head (I think) and starts believing that she is thin and beautiful and begins to act confidently because she thinks she looks how she idealised herself. Suddenly everything goes right for her, which she thinks is because of how she looks. Eventually she realises that she hasn't changed in appearance, but it is her self confidence that has made the difference. Both videos are filled with references, but the way. They watched a lot of early 2000s comedies and movies for inspiration, but there are also references to music videos from Taylor Swift and Ariana. Soyeon said she wanted "Queencard" to be a comedy.
@@Jneedstostopobssessing it’s so sad to know she felt that way about herself,, she’s beautiful!! I’m glad she seems to be doing better and is able to write and put out songs talking about her experiences. Also that dance off scene in queencard was totally giving white chicks vibes and now I see why!!
Thank you for watching!! I’m sorry it took me a bit to get another g-idle video out 🤦🏻♀️ I def want to get into more from them and get to know them better,, if anyone knows a good guide/intro video I could react to let me know!!
thank you again for the vid!! As for the guide i think these two would be great: a helpful one: th-cam.com/video/vofZWLUiG5o/w-d-xo.htmlsi=L-6Lg57QokFh3zCI an unhelpful one (cause they're actually so chaotic and hilarious): th-cam.com/video/YGYNbQlNc5k/w-d-xo.htmlsi=bTkPM9k-oS603Et4 They debuted with 6 members actually but soojin got kicked out for false bullying allegations in 2021, and after that they took a 1 year and months break. Soojin came back as a soloist if you want to check her out!
Cube is STUPID. Soojin is AMAZING and did not deserve the poor treatment (NOBODY in that group deserved what happened just from Cube's Execs and managers being such pigs). Soojin totally deserves to still be with the group and they all deserve to flourish. I will ALWAYS be OT6 for (G)I-DLE.
Gidle 🔥🔥🔥

@@aliamae485 I'm sure that was a White Chicks reference ☺️
There is a white chicks reference in the dance off, but she said her main inspiration came from the film "I feel pretty" (as well as Yuqi 😊)
