Mary Meriti fell in love with the man of her dreams, moved in with him in her own house, borrowed a loan, started a business together from scratch and asked the husband to be saving money in his own account. With time their business picked up, started earning millions, bought cars, a big house and took their children to the best of schools. Then, her husband suddenly changed and left her and their children only for him to spend the money they had saved together on other women.

This is one thing I am learning and when I got married I knew we had a huge difference in salary with hubby. I have noted that when you keep on showing a man you have money and you can buy whatever is needed for the house he will relax. Yes I do my part but I have chosen to protect my hard earned money and save some money. Incase I get a daughter I honestly dnt think I will advice her to get married to a man who earns way more less than her. It can be frustrating and unattractive to provide and take care of a grown ass man other than when he is sick.

Women, you deserve a dowry ceremony, it is an initiation rite in the African traditional culture, it solidifies your union culturally, spiritually, emotionally and otherwise. You also need to get you a wedding to officiate your union legally, it has it's perks especially to do with discipline, asset value and property acquirement in case of such madness. This is not to say these two rights of passage guarantee that you will live happily ever after but they offer you some level of security, remember, babies are released from the scrotum, but they grow in your womb so you are more likely to be stuck with them than vice versa. Men are natural hunters, it is how they are created so stop offering them food and shelter in the name of 'love', they are designed to be the ones providing it otherwise they end up turning that shit around against you. Anyway, good luck finding a good man cos the only good ones i know maybe some of the ones six feet under. Those MFs can be cold and heartless.

I am Kenyan living in North America and I think Kenyan talk shows are by far the best. The presenters are so empathetic and genuine. You feel as if you are in the living room in your house talking to your fellow women. Glad we have subtitles so you can share these amazing shows with people who are not as lucky as me to understand Swahili. The shows don't show how Kenyan men can be bad but how amazing the women are.
