- A very big problem we see on the internet these days is games get reviewed in very early stage to keep viewers and attention and then get left behind with a bad rating.
Another big issue is payed game influencers that will defend a garbage game no matter what. They defend unfinished games and tell us to wait for a season update because a connection told them it will happen! Online only games need to die because that German villain is wrong."You will own nothing and be happy". I am not happy with the current state of new games that stop working if the internet is down. You paid for it so you own it. Tell that to The Crew owners that can't even play the game offline.
I have already mentioned the career destroying server problem that exists since 2019 in Dirt Rally 2 in another short video. I will revisit it when I feel like it to see what keeps working without internet because the graphics are great.
The last WRC game has very big problems (seen the rain?) feels dead and was released in a Beta-state. Have you seen the last TDU game? And I won't even mention the early access sim racing game that came out this week. We used to call those free demo's.
Because I am not a payed game influencer I am gonna call out my game of 2024 ExoCross. In the last update the HUD got a minimap. Are you fucking kidding me! I spend days to learn the tracks and put worldwide high ranking times on the leaderboards that now get attacked by players with a minimap.. 🤬
Thank you for reading my rant. Someone has to call these people out and since I am not a blabbermouth over video dude I will vent my frustration this way. Feel free to spread the word and copy and paste it because the truth needs to be told. 😤
But let's get back to Dakar 18.
When you look up reviews of this game it seems bad. Here lies the problem. The developers took notice and fixed most of the bugs and the graphics and driving feeling are great now. Because no one of the (payed) game influencers looks back this game gets tossed aside as unrelevant. Being a big advocate of Dakar Desert Rally I feel I made a big mistake not checking Dakar 18 out sooner.
By only watching this short warm up stage and the animations of drivers getting in and out of the truck you immediately notice the big difference in gameplay. Check out the footprints in the sand during my recoveryplate testing!
After I have calmly finished The Loeb Experience, that also deserves more credits by the way, I'm gonna dig deeper into this game.
If Dakar 18 and Dakar Desert Rally made a "lovechild" we would have THE Dakar Rally Game. Fingers crossed for that. 🤞🏻
