Dreamy Bowser. Easily one of my favorite, if not my absolute favorite Bowser battle of all time. Ever. Design ? Amazing. Ambiance and atmosphere ? At their finest. Difficulty ? Bowser is actually being SMART by protecting its weakspot and healing whenever in need, just like the player would. On my first run, this fight took me half an hour, and every single second was intense. Attacks ? Creative and pretty clever. (Bowser's usual fighting style, only amplified by the Dream Stone, making for some amazing and hard to counter techniques, along with permanent assist from minions and DX Airships) Music ? SWEET MOTHER OF GOD. ALL OF THE GOOSEBUMPS.
Ok, here's the thing, I actually don't hate the Super Mario Galaxy 2 Final Fight with Bowser. Think about it, how many times has he actually tried to kill you without the kooplings or kamek or Bowser Jr. to help him? Sure it's easy as hell but the atmosphere of the fight, the music, and feel of the fight was amazing for me.
My favorite part of the NSMBU final battle is when Bpwser uses his meteor flame move after coming out of his shell. The way he walks towards you while meteors fall around you makes him look like a badass. He just needs those shades.
I always thought New Super Mario Bros was just the original Super Mario Bros with new graphics to appeal to the masses. So I didn't play it, therefore I didn't that.
Actually, you're all wrong! In the original Super Mario Bros., after you beat bowser the first time, all battles with him throwing bones are Dry Bowser.
POV: It's 2014, and you're currently watching this on your grease-drenched tablet on the lowest volume possible so you don't get caught by your parents.
"I turn the other WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!" Nice I can understand why you have that as your favorite. Sadly I took that one down on my first try and if I ever beat a boss, let alone a final boss, on one try when I am prone to making so many mistakes... I'll let someone else finish that.
After seeing the Bowser battle of Yoshi's New Island, New Super Mario Bros. 2's battle actually looks threatening by comparison. At least in NSMB2, the lava is a constant threat, and it requires the player to keep jumping from flimsy platforms while dodging claw swipes and fire. New Island's fight looks like they just gave up. Though, at least it didn't repeat the old "run under him and hit the switch" routine.
Oh yeah. The final battle with Bowser in 3D land gets as humourous as him bringing down the house? **Forgets the end of the battle where he supposedly has a dramatic slow-mo fall sequence before getting slammed on the head with a brick**.
@PJ McDaid 1) Actually, he got knocked on the noggin by TWO brick slabs, not just one. 2) He was saying that because the floor broke under Bowser's weight.
I kinda expected the final battle from Super Mario Galaxy in there. For me at least it doesn't get more epic than fight him stronger than ever as you hop from planet to planet getting closer every time to the CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE. Then you proceed to trow him at a gigantic star and when you think he is done he comes back for a final dialogue before HE GETS SUCKED INTO THE STAR WHICH COLLAPSES INTO A BLACK HOLE WITH HIM ON IT, AND SURVIVES !!!!!!!!!!! Plus just how that battle was presented was pure gold.
My favourite Bowser Battle has got to be the one just before the final boss in TTYD. I just love how he saved Mario's butt while still challenging him to a fight. And we got to fight Kammy as well. _"What's a finale without a Bowser appearance? A cruddy finale, that's what!"_
9:23 Look at the bright side (or dark side depending on you you look at it): We're having a lot more clipping problems in the AAA games of today. That clip you had was dandruff compared the the present day.
fun fact: if you use gameshark/action replay to make yourself win the bowser battle, depending if you use a emulator or n64 either 2 things will happen:emulator:the game will just show a space-like background and the game will softlock1964 emulator only: there is a rare chance of the the game resetting as if you beat it.n64: can do the standard emulator one but not 1964, also has its own unique oneVERY RARE: the game will show unused defeat lines by bowser after the fight and the game will continue as normal. he will still be the final boss
I thought Dark Bowser and the Dark Star Core was pretty awesome. The battle incorporated the inhaling mechanic, it had awesome visuals, and the theme was AMAZING. I wish that was in the top 5 on here, but oh well.
I can see why people would call Capcom lazy for reusing the Orochi battle in Okami, then reusing him AGAIN along with every other major boss once you reach the Ark of Yamato. However, I gotta say, considering how freaking EPIC all of the bosses are, I really like the idea of reliving them without having to play through the entire game!
Very nice list! I completely forgot about Yoshi's Topsy Turvy though...Probably for the best. Dumb question though, why do people use the "smooth pixels" option in emulators? I like having chunky pixels to look at. :
My favorite Bowser boss battle was the final boss battle in Bowser's Inside Story. The music and the atmosphere was so intense and I'm so glad that the game doesn't save after the battle which allows you to play it over and over again.
I think Bowser from Paper Mario Sticker Star fits in the worst list. It's the same as every other boss in that game. Go into the fight, pray you have the right stickers, use them.
To be truthful I enjoyed the final battle in Galaxy 2, yes it was simple, and I won without taking a hit in the final stage, but at the same time that was because I was going frantic, I thought it was one of those fights that if he reaches you you are toast, fighting with that perspective may jave helped me enjoy it more, but even after hearing the complaints I still found it fun, much more so than the final battle of Partners in Time
I wonder what would happen if Bowser for a fire flower.. Would he start breathing Napalm, or have some sort of fire upgrade?? Or would he just be able to shoot fireballs from his hands instead of just his mouth?? I wanna see him get a Fire Flower to be sure
If you ask me, the best Bowser battle ever is the final fight against Giga Bowser in Super Smash Bros. Melee. He was terrifying, enormous, unexpected, tough as nails, and was pretty much just the ultimate test of the player's skill.
I actually disagree with you on Partners in Time. I actually enjoyed that final boss. It was at least creative and unique than other bosses in the series. I think they did a good job on it. It's a one timer thing and I love it when games does that sort of stuff. But I'm also glad you didn't put Super Mario 64 final boss on here. I honestly think it's overrated.
Mannn I watched this back in 2014 and it was hilarious and one of my favorite YT videos. Seeing it nowadays always will make me laugh and it’s nostalgic asf!
9:39 - So, about the Super Mario Sunshine fight. Specifically the cutscene that plays BEFORE IT. I actually got in touch with Scott Burns - the voice of Bowser in Sunshine and the Koopa King's recurring voice from 2002 to 2009 - on March 31st last year. Though it was moreso to ask him to something related to who he voiced in Mario Sports Mix, Ninja (his last role before voicing the TV Reporter in Scars Above 12 years later). Basically, I asked him if Culex's defeat sealed off the gateway to the Super Mario universe from the Final Fantasy universe, how did Ninja, Shirma and Chroma get into the Mario universe regardless (twice for that matter)? He couldn't answer my question, although he wished he could, but he *_DID_* provide some _very_ interesting information on his time with Nintendo. To quote: "When I provided voices for Nintendo the character lines were never laid out in story form. It was always just a page filled with individual lines or noises to read and perform." Basically, what this meant for Mario Sunshine's development is that Nintendo just told Makoto Wada to go nuts with the entire script. So if anyone's to thank for the Bad Dub Hot Tub, thank Makoto Wada.

New Super Mario Bros Wii did everything so much better. I could go on for a long time explaining in detail but the point is that the game and its final boss battle, fuckin suck.
He chose new super Mario bros U as number 1 because he expected this battle to be a regular run under him hit switch then he chases you battle. But it blew away his expectations and also it is his opinion As mention at the beginning of the vid
So why is the original Bowser battle from the first Super Mario Bros. not on the list anywhere? His stage was top notch but he goes down like very other version of him in the game. Is it because it was new to have a boss battle at the time?
Will never forget that Yoshi Island boss fight. THE most memorable boss fight from my childhood, of any game, not just Mario. In fact, I'm going to jump on Snes9x and complete the whole game, just so I can do that boss fight again.
Not sure if this counts, but Dark Bowser at the end of Bowser's Inside Story was always my favourite Bowser fight.
I think it does, my favorite is a tie between Dark Bowser and Bowser from Mario Galaxy
my favorite bowser fight is a tie between The final battle of Mario + Rabbids Kindgdom battle and Yoshi's Island

No but it shouldn't be on the worst list.
And the setting & atmosphere, and visuals
TheX-BladeAnarchy so because of music it's a good fight that is the retarded thing I have ever heard

My favorite part of the NSMBU final battle is when Bpwser uses his meteor flame move after coming out of his shell. The way he walks towards you while meteors fall around you makes him look like a badass. He just needs those shades.
I don't think they come in that size.
if they did make shades those size bowser could join the squirtle squad
Oh, wow... This was the first time I've ever seen Dry Bowser...
And holy...
It's just terrifying...
I think his only other appearance (that I'm aware of) is in mario kart wii.
FenixT93 I think you're forgetting his first appearance as the World 8 boss in New Super Mario Bros.
I always thought New Super Mario Bros was just the original Super Mario Bros with new graphics to appeal to the masses.

well actually, Rosalina reset the cycle of the universe, so Bowser didn't survive it. he was just brought back when the cycle was reset.

+Miika Kilpeläinen you can't say it fucking sucks. It sucks in *Your* opinion dipshit
+Miika Kilpeläinen The only exception of opinions is when I call you a dumbass which is *Fact*
Anthony Nguyen Its a dumbass not an dumbass. Also please don`t insult me just because i expressed my opinion about a goddamn video game! Geez.
19:01 what is this song
When you talked about the bad levels in SMS, i was surprised you didn't bring up the chucksters
5:00 It's even better because you can see the shadow of Bowser and the koopa car at top of the castle in world map
That was an enjoyable video! Well done!
I like how QG’s voice is at the same pitch as the music playing in the #1 worst Bowser fight
If you haven't yet, can you make a vid about all of the villainous blunders?
"The best, and only, RPG on the 64" Pokemon stadium 1 and 2: Am I a joke to you?
ONE OF. I said ONE OF.
@@TheQuarterGuy you did? sorry must have misheard, 😅 also DAMN never got a reply that fast outside of discord.
Now we gotta wait until this top list has a remake on bowser fights
So why is the original Bowser battle from the first Super Mario Bros. not on the list anywhere? His stage was top notch but he goes down like very other version of him in the game. Is it because it was new to have a boss battle at the time?
2:00 I only just today realized where that sound is from
I've watched qg's videos for a year and this video was the one that started it all for me
Fun Fact: This was the first introduction to this channel
i love your commentary... very well put together
when you metioned villainous blunder #16, what were the previous 15?
You realize there are 99999999999999999999999999999
Villainous blunders
Villainous Blunder #15: Underestimating your opponents
When I saw the intro, I knew immediately that this was something in association with The Chaos Theatre.
2:02 thanks a lot, now we won’t have a Mario and Luigi partners in time remake
(Jk, though I liked the game tho)
First video of yours that I've seen and all I gotta say is... Keep up the great work :D
Really appreciated that rank up magic joke ;)

Will never forget that Yoshi Island boss fight.
THE most memorable boss fight from my childhood, of any game, not just Mario.
In fact, I'm going to jump on Snes9x and complete the whole game, just so I can do that boss fight again.
