I finally found the cracks on mine starting to form. Just recently also installed the MetalCloak bracket and now have peace of mine. This video clued me into making regular inspections.
Thank you for this concise set of instructions. I just got my braces on (preventive measure). No issues with the Metalcloak hardware not fitting and my truck has welded nuts behind the brace - so no need for the included free nuts. There must be some variances between production years.
1:29 you've only got a few threads of engagement. Longer bolts would have helped. The hardware they send is for if the welded nut/boss was already broken off.
The Jeep engineers completely failed on the Gladiator rear sway bar they should have frame mounted the sway bar like the JL and they could have avoided this issue and all the bent end links. This is a nice upgrade.
nice! will add these this winter though I dont see any cracks yet it seems prudent! I like Metal Cloak stuff! added front and rear diff covers + rear diff slider and an oil pan armor/slider this summer ! Glad I did because I got some decent scratches on it this year on Birdseye Gulch by taking a bad line and didn't see a nice sharp tall rock and drove directly over it and the oil plan skid plate slid right over.
@@MoreDirtMoreDistance Well it's "bit after winter" :) here and I finally added these to the Gladiator! Figured after doing 35s and the lift better get it done!
Did you notice any ride quality issues before you replaced these? My JT is bouncing really bad and tomorrow I'm gonna start searching weak welds or any cracked brackets like this one.

Mine just needed to be chased a bit. I ran the stock bolts all the way down with the link removed and back out. MC bolt went in fine after doing that.

Do people pry that nut off?
@@geofflau3002 it tends to break off when the bracket is damaged. Rather than weld it back on, they provide a nut for their replacement bolt.
I just purchased 12Mx65mm and a set of 70mm just in case. I’ll try to fit them tomorrow and see how it goes.
@@ftterlvemine haven’t failed yet but this mod is my preventative measure. Thanks for the info. I’ll keep the bolts in case the nut breaks off.

I was surprised how thin the bracket was!
Agreed. I have this and it's great, but now I keep bending my swaybar end links
what is the factory torque setting for rear sway bar so i can put things back to stock?
I don’t know.
I tried using a 12Mx65mm from Home Depot and it doesn’t fit in the welded nut. How did you make it fit ?
I believe I used a 12Mx16MM and it fit.
great catch, now I'll have to find those for mine
I wasn’t expecting to see anything I was surprised when it was on both sides

I have the upgraded front and rear diff covers but haven’t done a slider upgrade. I should at least do an oil pan slider.

I didn’t notice any handling issues before finding the cracks in the brackets.
I have this, but bow I his my sway bar and the end links bend. And my lift and end links are metalcloak.
Great channel! Quick question....does adding the bracket alter any of the suspension angles or cause any need for alignments?
Thanks! Nope the suspension angles stay the same no need for an alignment.
