    My guilty pleasure is playing the same games over and over again. Even though I know the whole story, even though I have already completed all quests and picked all the different possible paths. It's the comforting familiarity of them, the joyful nostalgia. Do not underestimate my ability to happily play Dragon age origins for the 325th time

      i'm exactly the same. i've played GTA VC/SA and Silent Hill 2 and all the Metal Gear Solid games hundreds of times each.

      I do that constantly. I still haven't finished all the games I got for Xmas, but I'm going to take a break soon to play the Mass Effect trilogy, starting from scratch. It seems to happen, like clock work, every 3 months, for the past several yrs. So when March starts, I'll be starting again. As for ME:A, that's debatable, maybe, maybe not, cause I want to finish my new games, then go back to Witcher 3 sometime this yr.

      Not sure if I would call guilty pleasure, I would argue it actually shows how good a game is if you still can keep replaying it after many times. ^^

      Me too, I'm on like NG+5 on Digimon Story:Cyber Sleuth. Probably gonna do my NG+1 run of Digimon Story: Hacker's Memory soon. If i can bring myself to endure the emotional trauma that game gives me

      Ah, yes. As I don't have much time at hand, I can't replay games as much as I would like. But that said I am proud to say:
      UC4: A Thief's End- 10 times
      GoW4- 7 times
      AC4: BF- 6 times
      MGSV: TPP- 3 times. (Small number, considering it's a huge game, yeah)

    Oh man now all I want is a "Persona" style game set in the Harry Potter world. Taking classes, talking to friends, a battle system based on spells and tactics and potions... That would be awsome !!

    • @silverstarfinder
      @silverstarfinder 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      XD And I find this just after I post a comment on it. Minecraft. I’m on a server based on Harry Potter. While it’s a bunch of real people on there, it’s open world, has a spell system, you can brew potions, there’s some battle. It’s NEARLY ideal. Nearly.

      Josh A Probably, I never played them, so I'm sure someone knows better than me! I did play the slightly awful Order of The Phoenix on PS3, that had quite a good open world Hogwarts, but the game itself was a bit boring 😀

    • @MerkhVision

      The Order of the Phoenix and Half Blood Prince games did feature an open world Hogwarts that was accurate to the movies! The games are a little hit or miss, but theres some fun to be had with them if your a big fan of the series and can overlook the mediocre bits of the games

    That's a good idea actually. What about the noises you always listen for in games? Robert would probably like hearing the splishing and splashing of water, and I personally like the sound of wind, grass, chimes... If they get wind and environment right, I absorb myself in the nice weather.

    one with RPG elements, and a big open world to play in... i mean, now that gaming has advanced so much... i think if the right people were to work on it, we could get a REALLY good harry potter game out of it. :D

    I remember those first Harry Potter games. every time you “died” on your adventure, you would wind up in the hospital wing with Madame Pomfrey giving you a stern talking to. Then there were the sections with the invisibility cloak, where it was timed and you had like 30 seconds before you would have to pick another one to continue being invisible 😂. They were very loosely based on the books, but at the time they were brilliant and strangely addictive.

    • @brendanward1270
      @brendanward1270 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      NathanM4A1 the actual sport is just dumb. 90% of the time no one but the Seeker matters, the others are just playing around while they wait for the Snitch to be caught. That’s only one example though, the rules are just not good. It’s a really bad game of flying soccer.

    • @NathanM4A1
      @NathanM4A1 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Darman Skirata You clearly never payed attention to the movies or read the books, nor were you any good at Quidditch World Cup. Firstly, the snitch is incredibly hard to see and the amount of time it takes to spot it and then catch it can vary wildly. I don't have my Quidditch book to hand but I remember it saying that the shortest time its taken to catch the snitch was a few seconds, where the longest was weeks, and the teams had to substitute players so they could sleep. As the game doesn't end until the snitch is caught, the game time isn't set in stone. If the game goes for long enough, or even if its a short match but one of the teams is really strong, the chasers can easily score more than 150 points. In Quidditch World Cup its entirely possible if you're good to get develop a 150 point deficit so that even if the other team catches the snitch, you still win. Its like flying soccer, but with a large bonus if for an extra method of scoring. If the teams are equal, and its not a very high scoring game, then yes whoever gets the snitch will win. But that isn't always the case. Even at Hogwarts there were cases of a team winning by quaffle points alone, let alone among professional teams. And your "no one but the seeker matters" statement falls flat when a beater takes out a keeper (allowing chasers to score with impunity), or a seeker (guaranteeing the win for the other team unless the chasers are good). While the seeker is the most important role without a doubt, to say the others only matter 10% of the time is insane. If the rest of your team is good, they can be just as important as the seeker.

    -Using Sophia in Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade
    -Using Rookie rank Digimon in the Cyber Sleuth Games
    -Halting everything to listen to the music
    -Using bad equipment because it looks cooler(looking at you, Dragon Age: Inquisition)
    -Reading Lore bits

    I loved the quidditch mini game in the chamber of secrets. It was really fun and I used to play it loads. You had to battle the opposing teams seeker to catch the snitch first. The final game of the year was particularly fun, since the opposing teams seeker is Draco and the quest for the snitch was changed up a bit with this portion where you and Draco chase the snitch to under the stands. Really fun times. ☺️

    • @Bad_At_Parties
      @Bad_At_Parties 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Man, you're so right. A current gen Quidditch game with the graphics and immersive effects you could design into the game now would make it absolutely amazing. You could have weather effects that could make it harder to ride your broom (like playing in high winds during a rain storm), program interesting broom defensive and offensive controls in the game to ward off bludgers and other players during the match, and the ability to do custom team plays to surprise opponents.
      I have so many fond memories of Quidditch World Cup from childhood. The other Potter games usually had cool Quidditch sections but you only got to play a match or two for each game and that was it. World Cup let you play as all the Hogwarts Seekers and seekers (who were mostly characters you actually knew from the books and films), and then let you play as all the World's seekers with a scope that blew my mind at the time. I remember dominating the World Cup with Bulgaria many a time as a kid, simply because I knew that I'd get to play as Viktor Krum when it came time to get the snitch!

  • @Bad_At_Parties
    @Bad_At_Parties 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Rob is right on the money here. Harry Potter was my life as a kid from the first moment I read the first book and saw the amazing first film at the tender age of 8. I got any Harry Potter game I could get my hands on; Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone for PC, which was basically a more watered down version of the game that Rob is talking about, a Chamber of Secrets Gameboy game and then the best of the lot, games based on the first three movies for the Gamecube, in addition to the underrated Quidditch World Cup which allowed me to play what was always my favorite parts of the movies.
    The Gamecube versions of Philosopher's Stone, Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Azkaban are games I have deeply fond memories of, because they were everything I ever wanted as a Harry Potter fan. I wanted to explore all of Hogwarts, fly a broomstick all around the grounds, and just FEEL like Harry Potter, and boy did those games deliver. I hope that the Harry Potter RPG that was leaked recently turns out to be exactly what Rob and so many fans want: an open world game set in the Potter universe where you get to create a character and go on adventures in and around Hogwarts. It's the kind of game I've wanted forever now, ever since the Potter games started to get worse and worse after Azkaban.
