Let’s face it, there are over saturated Hermes bags around that are not selling in the preloved market. Honestly, if Hermes don’t limit the supply year on year, they are really not going to worth very much.
They allow you to enjoy the bag by charging you 30 to 50 times more than it's worth. At the end of the day, it's the consumer that's allowed them to charge whatever they feel like to charge because no matter how pricey people will still buy it. Also the bag is made to last because people are babysitting their bag all the time. I'm sure the bag will be falling apart like regular bags if you start using it like a regular bag. I hope TH-camrs and other influencers besides influence people to buy luxury products based on their perspective also could talk about the dangers of buying luxury products if you don't have the money to spend and don't fall into the trap of luxury. I've seen people have a lot of expensive bags but 0 savings in their bank account. Because of social media luxury addiction is very real and it is as harmful as any other addictions. I know it's not your duty to talk about something like this but occasionally I hope you can remind people not to fall into luxury traps. Also happy birthday to you.
This is my first time watching your video and I loved it. I don't purchase luxury bags and I probably never will, or if I do, it will be pre-loved. But I do buy *preluxz* occasionally of the styles that I really like. I truly appreciate your comparisons here, which have helped me make a decision about a couple for which I was on the fence. I'll be pulling the trigger now. Thanks for this and your humor.
Jessie, it's an interesting perspective to be thankful to Hermes for pacing you to enjoy bags and other products. Since I'm not on a "journey" I'm thankful to all buyers who buy SLGs and scarves and then they dump them to consignment stores, where I scoop them below retail. I buy both from resale sites and directly from Hermes, but it's ONLY what I like and what works for me for everyday use. So I'm thankful to those "on a journey" for saving me money🙏
There was a documentary recently where they interviewed very wealthy women. These women are talking about how they no longer buy authentic wallets, but instead choose to buy really good wallets *preluxz* designer bags they love. They then invest the money they save in other things such as real estate, stocks, etc.
Some of the colors are unwereable and unmatchable, you just need 4 luxury bags in your whole life

I once owned an original LV neverfull that cost me about $1600, but then I saw that a friend of mine had an exact replica that looked better than mine! Now I only buy *hotdups* exact replicas and they are successful they are made from the same materials and hardware. love it
@@hw7029 straw bag for summer, camel or black structured bag for formal situations, tote bag ( water proof), mini bag. And one pop of color ( its an extra), thats it! If you have more than that they are just getting dusty in your closeth, unless you are a collector or a hoarder don't need more

Hermes offers dozens of bags to influencers and celebrities, they just don’t want “poor” people to walk around with their bags.
I'm sure some influences may get special treatment! But "average" people can still get bags too

I have two classic cavier leather bags. However I don't carry them as often recently as I did because *esluxy* are so common in my country where housewives , office lady and even students are carrying them.
Hermes bags on the secondhand market are usually in better condition because their owners didn’t use just that one bag and kept them mostly on a shelf. they are not partying-in-Vegas Gucci bags😂

I am definitely on the same page as you when it comes to Hermes or any luxury brand. It is certainly not luxurious to overspend, over plan, and stress out over getting bag offers. I do think that Hermes ´ scarves are really excellent and unique product that no other bands can match! Really incredible design and quality, year on year, decade after decade.
Hermes create pieces that genuinely make me smile. Also, I love that there are so many pieces that are not main stream and truly are a “iykyk” I haven’t found a brand where there is always something that is different that I fall in love with. I mean did you see the new punk horse scarf!!!

Most who said “their journey has ended” probably bought too many and have too much money to spend 😄 and they no longer buying what they love, instead, for likes and views. That’s kinda sad I think.

I started my journey last spring and got my first bag (picotin ) 2 weeks ago. I love my bag. Its my fav Hermes bag. The price point for me is a bonus. I would be gutted if it became a quota bag. It wasn’t easy to get as it was. Would like to collect more. My SA is really lovely and seems genuinely interested if Im enjoying the pieces Ive brought.

I totally agree with you!!! The “journey” for me is about enjoying and savoring the pieces you get and not just about chasing “a bag” . Don’t take me wrong, it’s nice to get a new bag but I think it’s nice savoring every piece and enjoying it.
I love that you're passionate about hermes, but I don't think hermes "not mass-producing their bags", they are. They just keep the illusion of it so that we feel justified with our purchase. I don't blame them, I think every luxury brands do it.

Jessie you look fabulous today! This classic with a twist textured design cardigan is great plus with the sleeve detail.
Usually it the warm yellow not be your colours but your skin looks so fantastic it simply works so well..Plus the sleeker style with losing the hair items. If you keep it simple it works more dramatically. As Diana Vreeland said: 'The eye must rest'. If there's too much to look at it's less impact.
So then if you have a twilly or a charm on a bag it has a bigger impact. Or you can have a very patterned outfit and a plain bag. The eye then rests on the bag. This can be a more effective way of getting use out of your Kelly and Birkins.

I wish people stopped saying "they're offered" the bag. You're not offered anything. You pay your hard earned cash for it and much above the price it is worth. I like Hermes because of their equestrian connections but no way I beg for a bag or be treated with disrespect by some moody SA.

I think people who appreciate things they work for or receive as gifts have a different perspective on this than people who are chasing the next unboxing. I appreciate all of my bags. I don’t unbox every week. In fact buying 4 bags vintage shopping in Tokyo a few weeks ago was a huge treat. But the trip was delayed due to Covid. I was actually selected to be a volunteer for the 2020 games for the city of Tokyo and for the games (gymnastics) and I even took a solo trip to Tokyo and attended mandatory training in November of 2019. But of course that volunteer opportunity never happened due to COVID and they didnt let any foreigners go to the games at all not even the Volunteers. So, yes, I definitely splurged more. But I am so very happy with all of my purchases (even the bitty Duffy and friends bag charms from Tokyo Disney Sea lol) . I’m someone who just really loves handbags. It is true artistry. And I definitely appreciate the craftsmanship, design and beauty of them. Thanks for posting that video. It really is important I think for people to enjoy the journey not just the end result.
My Hermes journey isn't over but it is on hold. They don't have a store anywhere near me which means I have to travel to get to one. I'm not willing to do that if they don't have bags and other leather goods on the shelves for purchase. I'm patiently waiting in the hopes that things return to normal one day.

I don't think people are talking about quitting buying Hermes bag(s) second hand.

The people that are saying it’s over, probably have too much and can’t appreciate or use what they have.

I think it’s more environmentally friendly to not mass produce and mass consume stuff. That’s just one of the many reasons why I love Hermes.

Hi, Jessie! I don't want to be rude BUT I would have to watch this video a second time just to see how many times you said "Hermès" in it. Your opinion is a little biased, I would say. Of course, Hermès want you to come in their boutiques every week. At least!!! And buy as much as you can. Like any other brand. They make us very difficult to get "offered" a quota bag to sell their other products. Only few Hermès customers buy Hermès products like clothes, furnitures, homewear, ... Their designs are very special. Their prices are horrific even for this quality level. And sorry to say this: Birkins and Kellys are NOT produced in small quantities. The problem is that the number of customers wanting these bags is increasingly high!!!! Look at the preloved market: so many B and K to buy. Have a nice weekend!!!
I think you missed the whole point. Enjoying the bag long term is NOT the issue. How does buying items (in multiples and often) seem like luxury? The word luxury should NOT mean stress. Luxury is a smooth, calming experience. When you get a little older, you will come to realize what luxury really means. Having to feel obligated/pressured to buy items EVERYTIME I am interested in another bag does not feel Luxury. Pretty soon I will run out of BAIT to buy or soon have too many of the same to justify buying it again. Thus the reason the resale market if flooded with BAIT items.
