  • I have started on building a front end loader for my 1975 Cub Cadet garden tractor. I get it tore down and started building the arms, and making several improvements to the tractor along the way.
These videos are meant to give you ideas and inspiration to work on your own projects. This is my hobby and I am not a professional welder or fabricator. There are probably better parts and better ways of doing things, but I use the parts and tools that I have already or can get cheaply

Cool project! If only I had more time!

I’ve never seen anyone put a vertical shaft engine on a cub like that. So what are your thoughts for mounting the hydraulic pump, are you going to add Greasable bushings to your pivot points? Are you planning on being able to detach the loader at all?

It is going to be all welded on. This tractor will be just for the loader. The pump will be mounted underneath run by a belt. I am going to have bronze bushings that are greasable. Of course, like everything I build, plans can change at any time, and I'm pretty well winging it, so who knows lol. Thanks for watching

@@kevinscreations4486ou can mount your hydraulic pump behind your transaxle with a Lovejoy coupler and a jack shaft between the diff and the pump. Frank (wood and metal shop time on YT) did this when he built both a road grader and a forklift from Cub Cadet tractors. You can even use the differential for your hydraulic reservoir.
You will probably want a cooling fan for your differential as they do run very warm. A computer fan might be of help. I'd put it on your key switch so you know it's running.

@Farm_fab I finally found the video of his you were talking about. I like that idea, and I am thinking of modifying his idea a little to see how it does. Thanks

No, I've been working on it . I've had to work several weekends and haven't had as much time.
