I had this same issue but with an enemy pawn, they would attack and my camera would zoom into my player. I had to go to my enemy blueprint and change the same setting but I had to change the setting in the Mesh(Character Mesh) in the components section. I did it on "BluePrintNameHere"(self) originally and was confused why it didnt fix the issue but changing it in Mesh(Character Mesh) fixed it for me.
This doesn't fix the problem, just disables collision, In a TPS shooting game the camera will go through the wall. People expect collision to be active, but not zooming when touching the spring arm axis to something.

Yiu can also just go into the pawn camera settings and uncheck "Do Collision Test".
Thats not a viable solution as the camera will ignore walls.

u are correct, this will not fix all problems. this is useful for single player offline games or slower paced games. Im sorry if this hasnt helped.
