I have heard of hens that DO lay two eggs in the same day sometimes, closest I saw were my Buff Orp and Jersey Giant doing double yolkers a couple times a week. Certain breeds actually lay more in the cooler weather too, so confusing. Silkies are a great option for anybody that doesn't need a ton of jumbo eggs and wants to not make neighbors notice they have chickens. We had more eggs than we could give away to people. So I started cooking extra up for the birds, just mix them shell and all with any leftovers and bake in a big casserole while doing chores. They love it and now their shells are stronger again.

Good info, thanks. The Easter Egger lays double yolks sometimes. The rest are pretty consistent.
