    José Tijerín is a digital illustrator and 3D sculptor who has created a video game “Dear Althea” to be launched on the Steam.
    In this tutorial, Jose shares his way of working with Character Creator and iClone to get fantastic results in Omniverse, Unreal Engine 5, and V-Ray render engines. Then he compares the results and gives his personal opinions on each one of them. This tutorial will help users discover new possibilities for showcasing their 3D sculptures and animation work.

    I wish Reallusion would just give us a better render engine within the software … it’s so time consuming rendering with external engines . .

      Imagine how time consuming it would be for them to create their own Lol. Easier said than done.

      Lucky for blender users it's not that much, but yeah, a complete system is always better.

    Thanks for the great tutorial I was able to hold on for a full six and a half minutes before I decided I would just use the native IClone renderer - God Bless

    Great video. I've used Vray since 2009sh. From my experience. Vray for humans(creatures) fire,liquid,smoke,grass and trees,sky. Unreal for static geometry, rocks, background sets etc.

    Omniverse is free for the cost of an expensive NVIDIA RTX card.
    The blender pipeline tool now supports conversion of imported characters to rigify & retargeting of your IC/actor core libraries inside Blender.
    We have EEVEE, cycles along with true volumetrics ,fluids, professional 3D particles and rigid body dynamics.
    All without needing an expensive NVIDIA RTX card.

      Yeah buddy! The guy who created the cc3 tools to Blender addon just updated it, and now you can add rigify and retarget at the press of a button or two

      So excited to start some new projects with it.
      Reallusion should have feature the new Blender pipeline tool in this video.
      People who can afford Autodesk Max are not likely using Iclone for character work ,but Maya and Motionbuilder.

      @@AutodidactAnimotions I am in the process of building me a new pc for Blender so i can really play with it my 1070 is ok for now though. I used a trial of Maya it's good and i have found a site that i can pay 106.00 monthly, but for now until my new build i am working in Blender. Can't wait for IC8 and CC4 i bet they will release them sometime in May since they said in spring so it will be late spring in May.

    It would be Good to show the speed difference of Iray Render in iClone VS Omniverse because at least in iClone, I can collapse the viewport (close all side panels and drag the timeline up) and get almost 3 times the render speed (Photorealistic) and additionally in the taskbar, right click on iClone, go to details set the system priority to High and get an additional 2x the speed on top of all the other optimizing techniques. Maybe I'll compare them both sometime. The main issue when rendering is that often the computer is rendering whatever is in the viewport and the stills or video frames at the same time which slows everything down. What I loved about Indigo is complete flexibility , also now compatible with RTX, you can make your own home render farm, it outputs about the same amount of files if sent to the standalone as Iray but at least it's compatible with smooth mesh by subdivision. There is also the ability to make any object a light source etc. At least the ability to export to Indigo Stand Alone should have been preserved -professional film making.

    I've been making short movies since September 2021 with no prior experience. I started with Unreal but found it too complicated. I discovered iclone and was able to make several movies in a short period of time due to the simplicity of the tools. I think what you are trying to achieve is great. Take the easy to use tools in iclone and render in engines that are focused on movie creation. I'm learning Unreal again so I can take my iclone created content and render in Unreal. The problem at this time is iclone doesn't work with UE5. Hoping this is resolved soon. I want to see what I can do with iclone+Unreal. Can't wait to see improvements in CC4 and iclone 8.

      That’s interesting coz I’ve been learning UE and wanting to do the same thing, make short films using it. I’ve quickly realised animating in UE5 is not really a thing (u can tweak but really you need to import animations) I always did live action but it’s so difficult to do and these programs give u more capability to make something with a smaller team I.e. me (usually). Although I have a friend involved in the next one (and hopefully future ones) I’m looking at getting CC4 & IC8 but need to make sure they work with Unreal Engine 5 (without the expensive live link plug-in) otherwise it wouldn’t be worth it. Need to be able to export anything.

    Timeline is now an Extension in 2022.1.1. This video came out today, seems you should have used the latest version. Good to know about the Omnihair.

    That's a lot of effort for saying: "Don't even try ...". I'm sorry, but the conversion to another render engine is always tedious and full of errors and lighting problems. I'll stay with the native engine, because I want to have fun, animating scenes and creating movies. This looks like torture to me ...

      @@CamIsMac. Omni I’d great too but only if ur doing path tracing. Ue has that marketplace and lots of things u can easily add to ur scene /game

    Hi , fantastic video tutorial , Thank you . I have question : You used Unreal live link for Unreal 5 , I have Ue4.25/4.26/4.27 in my Iclone7 Livelink plugin folder ! , Can I ask you please , How can I have UE5 live link too , I am still on UE5 beta version , do I need to Install final release of UE5 for IClone7 to UE5 Live link ? I really appreciated 🙏

    I bet this will not work if you have any effects in the scene from PopcornFX, and probably will not work either is there is water in the scene in iclone?

    Iclone must work more in the cinematic render. If iclone users r forced to use Blender or Unreal to be able to render cinematic style , those users may move to Unreal or to Blender , because that will be free . All is about get use to it ...Ones the iClone users may learn how to use Blender or Unreal , what will stop them to use permanent those programs and return to iClone ? It is logic...

    Note here that omniverse needs a 2080+, so jot for the light hearted. The userbase is somewhat low because of that, at least for the enthusiasts. The only free renders that I know of, are blender cycles and eevee. If I remember well, the UE link is not Free

      @@armondtanz UE4 and 5 are free, but the link from reallusion is not. Also precision is a problem, I agree. As a blender user, I animate non character assets on blender, after I import the characters

    The Iclone Toon shader has been broken since 7.3 -- almost three years and they haven't addressed those issues. This just looks like another non-solution.

      Have you tried uninstall/re-install? (I had Smart Gallery break on me and only opens with a "HotFix" file that re-connects to my acct that I found within the RL forum)

      @@spidertec_games Yes. I had to uninstall 7.3 in order to reinstall 7.2 to get the toon line-widths back.
