The horizon with capsule ammo also allows you to get “partial headshots”, thus allowing you to score headshots more easily and significantly bump the weapons dmp even when you didn’t actually aim properly for the head. It allows the VS score quick kills from the hip while moving incredibly quickly and not slowing down to ADS. The ultimate VS light assault weapon.

In defense of the Solstice SF before the rocklet rifle, I used the UBGL for a bit extra punch along with the crossbow and explosive darts to hunt deployed Sunderers. Shoot the thing with the darts and the UBGL to take down the shields and then C4 and if burning and not dead, hit with darts or grenades till it goes boom. Frankly being able to carry an under barrel grenade launcher was a benefit until the rocklet rifle came out. That said with determination you can make anything work. A couple days ago I took out a Sunderer as a stalker infiltrator with a combination of Cortium bomb and crossbow. I was laughing so hard afterwards but it was also very satisfying to take out the logistics as the squishiest class.
A lot of people don’t understand it’s hip fire and “partial headshot” capabilities. If you master the hip firing headshot strafing technique you’ll literally never lose a light assault dual. You’ll move side to side faster than your opponent and your ease of landing headshots is much easier. It’s honestly broken.
Would love to see some more faction diversity with weapons in the game, and there have been some awesome strides in that direction. Just hope we can see more focus on that design direction.
8:30 that right here is why i love the Horizon, you can Headshot reliably while mid air! i love this gun, snappy reloads, good DPS, and perfect airborne aim due to almost no bloom!
Suggestion: rank them in a ‘best in class’ fashion. Yes, I know that each has it’s place. Well, show us it’s place. Best carbine for CQC, Best carbine for mid-range, Best carbine overall, etc. Categorizations like that would help us to mentally organize the guns. Anyways, thanks for the video!
Zenith and Serpent are my favorite. Serpent shreds everything in sight, and Zenith has just enough fire rate and accuracy to make it good just about anywhere.
With the Solstice SF, if you're not using an under-barrel I'd say there is absolutely no reason to use it. It can equip soft point ammo (or even HVA if that's your thing) which is nice and I don't think many, if any other VS carbines can equip it.
TL;DR: All carbines are good picks apart from the Solstice SF - burst is okay but not great, Solstice VE3 you will outgrow, all others are worth your time.
People dissing the SF... the lower rate of fire also means its even easier to aim than the VE3, anyone with good aim can become a true headshot monster with this gun and the rail attachments like the UBGL are very nice, even if you are too close for the grenade to explode it still does 500 damage on a direct hit, headshot has a 2x multiplier meaning you can 1 hit kill people and its honestly a nightmare for MAXes, the grenades do a ton of damage against them. Anyone playing more of a combat engineer should definitely give the gun a try, works really well with the Quick shield recovery and Advanced shield capacitor, peek out to fire and even if you take shots its only like 3 seconds and you are back.. which given that the UBGL has a 3 second reload timer is kinda perfect. Super frustrating if you have a spitfire turret too! I get what everyone is saying though, its far from 'the best' carbine but if you play around the tools it gives you it is a top tier gun. Even the smoke launcher can be really nice to have and one dude with it can honestly be the difference between your faction getting out of the spawn and securing the base or everyone sitting in spawn drooling ;)
Just a note for anyone who plays on ps4 (not sure if this works on xbox or pc) the solstice burst can have no burst delay if you tap the trigger right it takes some getting used to but once you do its insane. It is hands down my favorite carbine and i have noticed it can absolutely melt anything that i point it at. Just a note though not sure if it matters i play on and old gen 1 ps4 so idk if it will work on a better console
Honestly Solstice Burst is the best kept secret of PS2. When aiming down sights it has _significantly_ better accuracy (0.06 vs. 0.10 standing for example) so it's probably my favorite carbine in the game for long-range for lasering people down. Interestingly while the Gauss Compact Burst (NC) is similarly great at long range, the TRAC-5 Burst (TR) doesn't quite enjoy that laser-accurate feel of the other two (it still spits out some okay damage, and performs _alright_ overall, but it fires too many bullets per burst to remain laser focused on what you're trying to hit).
Starting off with "I don't like the Pulsar C". I'm serious. I Auraxed it, came back to it repeatedly to try it out to see if my newer knowledge and skill would make me love it, but no. I really don't like this gun. The solstice sf, I always have a build on my Light Assault with grenade launcher set at all times. If you know when to pick and choose your fights combined with ammo printer you will give people MW2 PTSD when they unsuspectingly get a grenade launcher shot to the balls. Horizon, at first I hated it but when I learned how to use it it became one of my favorites. You could exclusively just use hip fire and still do good because of that accuracy. Serpent, god I love this gun. It's so funny when people get the drop on you and you spin around, and put 20 rounds in the head in the span of a second. They never see it coming. I like the others, aside from the Pulsar, but those 3 are my top pics due to how i play and the shenanigans i get into. I now mostly use them on my light assault since ASP'ing assault rifles onto my engineer.
How much influence did the Light Assault playstyle affect this analysis compared to the life of being a Vanu Engineer? Love seeing this kind of content though, brings me back to Symthic days on a different battlefield.
Talked about the horizon and didn't mentioned capsule ammo? Really? The gun is crappy without it... capsule ammo gives it the accuracy for longer range LA-hip fire shienanigans.
It's a Citadel Shield, available through outfit as a global war assets, which mean 1) you need to be in a outfit, and 2) you need to have permission(the exact permission required is Reserved Asset permissions) and 3) your outfit needs one pre-crafted in the armory to use it) It's one way, stopping all damage from the outfit of the citadel shield, however it can be bought down by killing the shield generator (the flying things at the middle of the shield) using any weapons that deals damage to vehicles, alternative it will time out after 6 minutes if not brought down before hand
After watching so many of your videos I wanted to play again! but I keep getting an socket error and havnt found a solid fix for it yet. Hope I get to play soon!
The VS made these things and well let’s a go fuckin hell they never seem to surrender and perhaps the TR shall team up to fuck them over The solsist is very fast and accurate and how the hell does it even work but oh well good general purpose but this looks like something a 6 year old drew up all 3 variants are just an insult to both me and my new pall who’s TR The pulsar is a respectable weapon I must admit how they did something right for once and I like it Serpent is the same deal but for the TR and not NC seriously the vanu aren’t human they never seen to show mercy The VX6 is stupid in name and is accurate at the damn hip and my pall says they are pretty feared and I agree but fuck they never miss The horizon is a favorite amongst vanu soldiers that is a carbine shotgun and also is a real pain in the ass and well fuck The zenith is a real scary son of a bitch and that’s it
I lost tons of interest with their VS nerf period. Not because they nerfed the magic guns. Because they continued to nerf the new meta after meta. Which was progressively worse than the original magic gun. It became "Popular gun! Destroy."
After watching this vid I thought Pulsar C might be a good choice for grinding the directive, but boy...This is the WORST weapon in class! PATHETIC fire rate making high damage meanless and attachments suited for long-range combat which is not something this excuse of a good carbine is good at. I regret wasting my certs on it
got ASP 100 on connery so i decided to actually try vanoob on emerald only fighting TR of course. Made a new char and slammed with the pulsar its so noob and ez to use its disgusting. stinky noob vanoob

Missed opportunity to actually have IgoRawr talk about the Pulsar C.
Collaboration time!
You smell that? That's opportunity right there...
To some people, there are two weapons in the Vanu carbine class: The Pulsar C, and what you use while your Pulsar C is in the shop.
This relates to me on a spiritual level.
We need more PULSAR C!!! mmm Pulsar c burst variant? yes please!!

5:52 I love this line.
The Horizon is honestly a hidden gem of a gun. PS needs more uniquely functioning guns like it

@@CAMIKAZE78 Agreed. I know for balance reasons it's difficult to make things that are different, but it certainly can, and has been done

Certainly something we can do in a seperate video for sure! Could make for an interesting topic to cover!
Glad to see you came around to the beast that is the Horizon. It sees a lot of use on my LA
It's a review I am honestly considering doing again...
@@CAMIKAZE78 That's really not a bad idea. I used it without the Capsulate ammo for about 2 kills then switched and it became amazing
Recently got the solstice burst and found out how good it actually was. SF underbarrel is great for farming groups when you don't have nanites for c4.
People really underestimate the UBGL. Sure, it's not the miniature nuke it once was, but you can rack up kills with it in the right situations.
The burst weapons can actually end up being a tonne of fun, certainly worth looking into!
Zenith and Serpent are my favorite. Serpent shreds everything in sight, and Zenith has just enough fire rate and accuracy to make it good just about anywhere.
VE-C Horizon is definitely one of my favorites.

Well, remember that only 6(3 sniper and 3 BR) weapons in that category are unique. The rest are copy pasted off each other.
