This is so amazing that every hope county herald has a different approach and is geared to a different type of audience. Jacob is preaching to call the strong units. John seems to be pointing to undecided regular inhabitants of the hope county. And last but not least Faith is speaking to people resembling her from her youth, it means weak, broken and lost ones.
Because what he does gives him the same feeling as what s*x does to most people. He may be written to experience S*xual sadism so if that’s true. it would turn him on every time he’d see someone else in pain. we don’t really see him in the act, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he’d be pitching a tent while he’d torture.
Shame it's not on here, but I love John's speech on social media. It goes something like this "We care about the opinions of people online who we never know while ignoring those around us. Our family does not need status updates." Sometimes when attacking an outpost I just listen to his speech. I like it.
I think if everything had worked out as Joseph originally planned, John's days would have been numbered after the Collapse. He was basically a sadist using his position in the PEG to get his rocks off torturing and killing people, and Joseph knew that (it was John's sin) but tolerated his methods because they were effective in getting followers and resources while they prepared for the Collapse (and because he was family). But if the Deputy hadn't interfered, the PEG would have had their three missile bunkers full of supplies, all their other outposts in Hope County, a few thousand more armed followers and a couple hundred more vehicles. Once the survivors emerged a few years after the bombs fell, anybody left in the area would be begging to join the Project. They would be the largest, most powerful and best supplied faction in Hope County and probably for a much larger area beyond that, so people would join for that reason alone. The PEG wouldn't need to torture people into joining when everybody can already see that the Father was right about the Collapse and had indeed protected his extended family like he promised. If John kept up his indulgences, it's likely Joseph would see him as a wolf preying on his flock and deal with him accordingly.
ProfessorxVile there’s a post apocalyptic book somewhat about that idea, a cult winning influence over a resurrected town. I think it’s called The Shakespeare Troop or something like that
Wow. I feel like there should be a DLC/expansion to New Dawn with an alternate storyline where the Deputy doesn't intervene. Would be pretty cool because the New Dawn ending was disappointing imo.
To add on to this there’s a message from Joseph to John that you can hear at johns ranch, it basically tells John to let go of his traumatic past and accept the love of the new family around them, to stop feeding the sin inside himself before it infects others and takes new forms, and that Joseph has had visions of Johns death, not a matter of how (as his sin is destined to come back and kill him) but when, and Joseph hoped that John would let love into his heart and die an old man who was able to see the paradise they prepared for, instead of as a young man filled with hate. One part to go against though, the PEG wouldn’t be taking followers post collapse, as they were not the chosen ones to survive, either because they denied the message or whatever else. The Chosen were actually expressly told tp be ready to kill anyone who came to or against the project in a broadcast by Joseph. And in the Book of Joseph, he writes that all of his followers must build walls not only around the garden, but around their hearts, for they must reject any who come to them, even the children held out as parents beg for them to be taken in or fed, because they are not God’s chosen survivors and so deserved no sympathy.
Never the less, the Highwaymen would come, and they would fight through the cult, but it would have been way more difficult for them, if the cult was still strong, and not weak after the deputy’s actions. I would love to see how John and Jacob would take on Highwaymen.
according to the FC6 DLC they all would have died in the bunkers from infighting, I agree with what you think would have happened if they had all survived though.
Firstly I recorded the game audio. Then I took the audio files and arranged them to be like in the game. I didn't have some of the audio files so I kept the game recordings for the absent parts. Subtitles were done fully on my hearing as there are none in the game itself. Then I started putting it all together and it took a lot of time. But I love the game so much that I wanted to do it as perfect as I can. Thanks for enjoying this video :)

Not bad
They should've put these on the cult radio station as well in between the songs.

its pretty amazing how john seed and joseph look so similar and even sound familiar very brother like

The problem with this preaching is it's kind of based, terrifying, and I feel like I'm being manipulated. It's really good writing.
