Frost is one of those decks that since its buffs has always been around as a fairly popular and strong deck that can deal with a lot of different things without feeling too oppressive to play against (unless your deck is row based). To me it's in a great spot balance-wise and is fun to play.
@@platinumpatrol2964 thank you for your video, your commentary was very helpful. I am currently trying to get to the pro rank as a challenge, cannot get upper than rank 6, it seems that at that point you only encounter meta decks. Do you have any advice? Thanks again.
@@platinumpatrol2964 Okay, got it. I actually had the most success with Frost Devo deck, but I am struggling with other decks and factions. I believe that it can be because I do not really play meta decks. I also had pretty consistent decks with control decks of Skellige and Nilfgaard.
With wild hunt frost I always run 2 Foglets and crew. Folglets for the big points and crew is just very versatile. Never thought about playing morvudd in frost, doesn’t seem too bad.
I really like Crew as well and I'd love to fit 2 Foglets but I couldn't fit them. I opted for 2X Bruiser over crew because I've found it often gives more value when the opponent row stacks by letting you get Frost damage you wouldn't otherwise. I didn't used to play Morvudd in frost either, but I tried it out after seeing other people play it and I'm very happy with it so far. It synergizes very well with the deck's early tempo by giving you a big finisher that isn't reliant on Frost, which can be an issue with Golden Child in a short R3.

Hi, I've wanted to seek help from you as you seem to have a lot more knowledge about this game than a common player. Would Zeal deck consisted of: Renfri Roche: Merciless Boholt Foltest Shani Gaunter O'Dimm Pavetta Vissegerd Kennet and Gar Voymir Blue Stripes Commando x2 Griffin Witcher Mentor x2 Ronvid Blue Stripes Scout x2 Pellar x2 Siege Ladder x2 Siege Tower x2 Redanian Knight x2 Work? I'm not desperate for my deck to be meta and wanted to fit Renfri into Blue Stripes NR but as of bronze engines, utility and removal cards chosen are there any possibly better options? As a mediocre player at best i wanted to ask someone who's really good at this game for directions. Thanks in advice
I don't think a Renfri Blue Stripes deck will work too well. Blue Stripes really benefit from having Amphibous Assault and Oneiromancy/Royal Decree. Firstly, they help you set up the Foltest combo in R1 which is very inconsistent otherwise and play Pavetta at the time you want. You also need to get another Commando after shuffling them back in with Pavetta and those let you play them directly from the deck. Without the special tutor cards, you're stuck with only Roche: Merciless and hard drawing a Commando. With a bunch of Commandos in deck that's not too unlikely, but the biggest problem is if you don't get Pavetta until R3 you only have Roche: Merciless or a lucky draw off Mentors. Another reason AA and Oneiro are so much better for the Commandos is you can play Pavetta R3 and then tutor one of them which stops you from drawing like 3 Commandos after playing Pavetta R2. The other big problem I see is you need an Inspired Zeal charge for your final Blue Stripes Commando which means you can't play Renfri before then or risk ruining your whole strategy if they kill it. One of the best parts about Renfri is the ability to play her early and carry over her leader ability after you've used your own, but you can't really do that here. I suspect this deck would struggle a ton against R2 pressure. However, if you really want to play a Blue Stripes Renfi deck, I think you need more consistency cards. As it is I think you'll find it very difficult to reliably get the setup you want. The best strategy would probably be to go for a R1 setup with Foltest and making a bunch of Commandos, bleed R2 with Pavetta shuffling back and aim for a short R3 with the Commandos and Refnri. You have a spare Leader charge if you use 1 in R1 on the first Commando and then save one for the last R3 Commando (unless that's Roche: Merciless + the Commando he spawns). King Demaveand I think is almost an auto include here since he gives you consistency for your R1 setup and can work on Neutral cards like Renfri later in the game. I think you'd really want him and Triss: Butterflies to improve the consistency, as well as Renfri's Gang. If you're playing Renfri they should really be in the deck since they also help then and play for high tempo without setup which the deck otherwise lacks. Boholt and Shani are nice to have, but I think the consistency is more important than them. As far as other things, Gaunter O Dimm is pretty much a meme card because his removal is too delayed and Inspired Zeal doesn't work on Neutrals anymore. You'd be much better off with Geralt of Rivia, Geralt: Igni, maybe Eskel Pathfinder for removal. Or you could use those provisions for Donmir of Troy to protect your Foltest setup. Radovid for the extra leader charges might be good too. In Inspired Zeal, I generally prefer cards like Seltkirk or Prince Anseis for removal though because of how well they synergize with the leader charge. Unfortunately, I don't think you have enough leader charges without Radovid if you're using them on Commandos and it would be too hard to fit both otherwise, I'd recommend one of them for removal over a Geralt. Ronvid I wouldn't play unless you're going to combo him with Kaedweni Revenant, but I don't think they fit too well in this deck because of the lack of cards like Reinforced Ballista. The Mentors are probably not worth using if you have the other consistency cards. Some other useful options might be Siege Support as another way to give Zeal I think I would try something like this if I had to play Renfri Blue Stripes: Renfri King Demavend Roche: Merciless King Foltest Donmir of Troy or Geralt/Eskel Triss: Butterflies Pavetta Vissegard Voymir Margarita/Dorregaray Renfri's Gang (2) Blue Stripes Commando (2) Siege Support (2) Blue Stripes Scout (2) Pellar (1) Siege Ladder (2) Siege Tower (2) Redanian Knight (2) I would recommend probably playing Blue Stripes without Renfri or playing a different NR deck if you want it to be Renfri though. I don't think they synergize particularly well.

@@chrcz8346 In Dagon's evolved form (Risen) his 5th counter spawns a base copy of Dagon: Risen in hand when it dies. If you get enough Dagon: Risens on board via things like Weavess: Incantation, Arachas Queen, Abaya, etc. and you have a Slyzard to consume a unit every turn, you will have a Dagon: Risen adding a copy of itself to your hand each turn as one of them will reach 5 counters and you kill it. Since you're getting a card added to your hand each turn and the Slyzard consumes a unit each turn (there shouldn't be enough bronze Deathwishes for Risen to brick your rows and that effect will stop going off) you can go infinite and play/consume as many Dagons as you want, or your opponent inevitably forfeits.
