- Do you want to avoid difficulties when assembling Besta doors and shelves from Ikea? Don’t rush to hire experienced furniture fitters - ready to assemble cabinets are not that hard to put together, you just need a little care and patience.
There are many opportunities to create a unique piece of furniture. The most functional storage unit is a combinations of drawers & shelves, the numbers of each can be adjusted to individual needs. Shelving units give plenty of space and make great homes for all sorts of things while drawers will help to keep smaller items tidy and in a place of their own.
There are two locking systems for the doors to choose from. I’ve used the push-open function which allows you to open the doors with a light push but if you prefer silently closing doors, soft-closing hinges are also available.

I was assembling one of the larger TV benches with a combination of drawers and cupboards. This and other videos made by you was a flatpack lifesaver for me. Also very refreshing it's not a timelsapse like so many others. I was having real trouble with the alignment. It would never have occurred to me to tweak the different screws to get everything just so. I watched it a couple of times and paused as I completed each stage of assembly. Thank you, k-nemo, even more impressive you did this with protective work gloves. Kudos!

I love the music and the thoroughness .... but I needed captions to explain how to raise/lower and level the doors. That’s the tricky and frustrating part. Everything else is self explanatory.

Most of those "Phillips" screws are actually Pozi-Driv screws (PZ-1, PZ-2). Make sure you use a PoziDriv bit on your screwdriver or else you'll strip the screw heads. Five years of experience talking here. I recommend a driver/drill on a low to medium torque setting instead of a hand tool. It'll save you a lot of time. Good decision to wear thin work gloves too. Assembling this stuff is painful enough without the metal edges carving up your skin.

It’s such a shame that besta drawers don't have such 3 axe adjustment system. All my doors are perfectly leveled and then there are drawers which ruin that grid :/
I just finish installing my first 4 Besta but doors looked crooked so hope I can fix that!
What a shame!
One issue I had with a taller frame is that the hollowness of the frame let the sides 'bow' out slightly, even with the shelf support pegs screwed in that stop that happening (as there's some tolerance flex still). So when I installed my doors, I had to use the side to side adjustment to fix the doors from sagging. Worked, but also meant that the doors stick out past the frame on the opposite side from the hinge. Should I have just stacked smaller frames?

What's the point of the IKEA 'push out' mechanism that comes with the soft-close hinges? It helps the door to open. I understand that. But this mechanism prevents the door from closing completely if you have soft closing hinges like in your video. Now, those doors won't close unless I push them closed which defeats the purpose of the soft-close hinge. Totally useless.

You don't have to install a mechanism that needs to be pressed by hand. Then the hinge will close the door.

Why does that shelf bit at the end come in the bag with the hinges?? I don’t even have any shelves. Spent 15 minutes looking at the pictures trying so work out what it was for!!
I find that when I adjust my self to line up correctly that I've had to unscrew the top adjuster and tighten the bottom one so much the the hinge side is now out of line. I just can't get all 4 corners looking level and flush
What is that silver thing in the end of this video for? I am building a shelving unit, but i don't understand. Is it holding a shelf?
This is used to attach shelves that are closer to the front of the cabinet. So that there are no gaps between the door and the shelf.
Would have been great but the end was truncated and obscured before fully showing the whole of the fitting of parts 115442 & 115444. It would have been nice to have had some commentary of captions
The last part for the shelf does there go a screw in the shelf or not ? I dont see a screw for it🤷🏻

1:57 The spring thing refuses to work on the bottom door. The 2 on top work fine but it doesn't keep the bottom door closed and the spring thing just stays pushed in if we try to force the door closed. We've tried turning the cap thing like you did but nothing's working :( I see you're still responding to comments and stuff, hoping you can help!
Try pressing the springs with your finger, maybe some are defective and need to be replaced.

At the end you will mount the iron items for the shelf, but is this necessary ? Or how much weight can this one have? (5:22 minute)
Shelves adjacent to the door are installed on this. The same shelves adjacent to the back of the frame are installed on other hooks. The shelf is narrower than the frame.

what do these things @4:58 add since the plank is already resting on the smaller mounting pins (?)
For door shelves that are moved forward. The others reach the back panel and are mounted with smaller mounting pins.
The shelf is narrower than the frame and there would be a visible gap near the door.
what if my door top is not horizontal? I can't make it horizontal.
Maybe the frame isn't rectangular?

I think those plastic things are for dampening the bounce of the door

I do not understand the purpose of the four (2 left, 2 right) metal pieces that are the last things installed and exactly where they should be installed reltive to the shelves. My Bestå system has 12 doors, so it's' important to get this right the first time. BY the way, the video suggestions of other related videos blocks this part of the install. Very useful otherwise. Thanks!

How the hell did you get your screws to screw in at 0:54? My screws just don't want to turn, and I'm clearly doing something wrong because every unit is like this for me.

Nah I'm just an idiot. I was using a wrong screw driver head. A standard phillips didn't cut it I guess. Odd.
