- 100 Thieves is one of the biggest and most clouted organizations in Esports.
When they entered VALORANT in 2020, fans expected that they would win multiple Championships.
But after over three years, the taste of an international victory remains elusive.
With top players in their arsenal, and a budget bigger than most, where did it all go wrong?This is the Story of 100 Thieves VALORANT.
On June 4, 2020, 100 Thieves ventured into VALORANT Esports, much to the delight of their growing fanbase. But they didn't just step into the scene; they made a grand entrance by signing Hiko, an FPS veteran who had just stepped down from the CS:GO scene. Taking on the mantle of team captain, Hiko was now the figurehead of 100 Thieves’ dream to win multiple Championships in VALORANT.

Asuna has a great career so far, that's exactly why it's disappointing that no iteration of 100T has seen consistent success since then

100T just goes through so many roster changes and even coach changes. They’ve had 3-4 head coaches since 2021. They’ve dropped and picked up nearly a dozen players and had many roster overhauls or changes. This (as a coach myself) is frustrating and ultimately taxing on a team and can create performance issues.

name me a team that hasnt had nearly a dozen roster changes outside of maybe loud (hasnt been around as long btw) and fnatic lol. most teams have also had at least 2 head coach changes as well. in the last 3 years of valorant (start of VCT) 100t has only really had 2 major roster remakes.
2 major roster changes but they’ve had 3 head coaches several assist coaches and analysts leave plus players and subs, i was saying in a general sense that roster changes can affect a team negatively

I do got to respect Hiko, for being in the valorant team for so long. I did remember that Gambit were a fear team because of how strong they were and clutching their way up to beat them. But Gambit manage to get to master’s Berlin and win the whole thing thanks to Redgard, D3ffo, Chronical, Sheydos, and nAts. Gambit were so close to win champions 2021, back to back wins. They from ascend, a prodigy team. I still believe they would’ve been the best if it wasn’t the circumstances from their country and hard time situation.
In my mind the 2021 champs was stolen from them and they are still the winners. Acend already lost to vivo keyd but unfair ruling put them back in the competition

I think 100T Valorant is plagued by early exits from many pivotal members to their team (rostered and behind the scenes), which ultimately had them falter and be inconsistent. I think heading into this season they showed promise, but couldn't find their rhythm or success. As a result, roster changes were definitely inevitable. Last year we had a great team that felt like it was a superstar away from winning, so they signed Cryo and still fell short. Roster moves heading into 2024 were expected, but a lot of other things were out of their control in the past. At this point, you hope their hiring process stresses longevity and competence at said position, but if it continues to happen you SHOULD question their hiring process and talent gathering. As of now, it's just a slight rebuild to find success. I'm optimistic for their future! Great video!
100T is now one of the best team
I was a huge fan of old 100T with hiko and steel. They were easily A tier and even beat VCT Gambit on icebox on of their strongest maps. kinda sad that they changed and now they are now where as before.

100t vs ascend comeback on breeze in berlin 2021 is one of my fav games of all time, felt even more impressive than the gambit comeback back then imo
I've never seen a team have so much hype and not deliver time, while changing roster so much.
One small correction, in Lock//in 100T ended 5-8th losing in the QF not 4th in the Semis. Great video though, really enjoyed it even though I am not a 100T fan

The decision to bench Steel was the downfall. How can you expect to be the same level from Masters when you bench your IGL. Whatever rift that they had, Nade should have boss'd up and veto and decision and kept the same team, at least until after Champions.
maybe if they stopped releasing new clothing every 3 weeks maybe they'll be more room for a stable player to help the squad instead of trying to find someone who may or may not connect w/ the guys.

The roster change they really needed was to swap out Nadeshot. How is a team supposed to gel together when you swap out components after every loss. He should have kept the team as it was with Steel Nitro and Hiko.

Its funny because he himself knows so much about that, his cod team that was doing bad again and again and was getting criticized still stayed together and he managed to win his cod championship with that team despite how everyone wanted him to kick players. So nadeshot knows about building team chemistry over time and working through the bad times

Im not to sure why every Player on 100T has been dropped except Asuna it feels like he's protected by being friends with Nadeshot. I personally don't believe 100T will ever win a event with Asuna on the team but only time will tell I guess. Getting Boostio as an igl will be there best chance.
