I got the compact a little over a month ago, it’s the second run with no MIM internals. I don’t mind the grip, it works, are there “cooler” looking grips out there? Sure, but I doubt I’ll change it. Maybe it’s the changes they made in manufacturing, maybe I got lucky, but mine runs like if a Swiss watch and a Ferrari had a child. Smooth, zero slop on any part, it’s quickly becoming my favorite pistol. I’m just hoping the holster I ordered fits lol
@michaelolin2219 ... Yeah, I think mine is from the first run, when they used MIM parts and were in a hurry to meet the release date, so that's why it had issues. Glad to hear that yours is running great, and good luck with the holster. Thanks!
I purchased an Apollo 11 today and shot it directly after in the stores indoor range. It’s the commander length. Shot 75 rounds. 0 malfunctions. Cheap blazer 9mm ammo. The weight and balance feel so good and it feels really quality and beautiful. It was really fun to shoot and I was smiling.
I agree with the weakness of the grip... Looking for a suitable grip now. Not looking for another prodigy grip (even though it's a great grip).... Just trying to make it look different and more sturdy.
Its funny LFA as i own the AMP sometimes one needs to take the the time do go over there firearms SAFELY and do thise tweeks function checks along with routine PMCS and you can turn a zero to a Hero. Never modify any firearms beyond your actual knowledge and capabilities for a SAFE and reliable tested firearm. Looks nice great video
Seen a few people do the Prodigy grip but I'm not a fan. Looking into other options. Overall, good video so thanks for the update and coverage of changes.
@love4gtsandguns ... I'd like to do something different as well, but dang, most of the grips that I've looked at are really expensive. If I get the bugs worked out, then I'll probably get something better.
@nygaardn1 Not yet, but I'm still searching. My Apollo 11 project is slightly on hold due to me dumping funds into other projects. Considering an Atlas trigger and Staccato grip however.
I put the Cosaints grip on my 4.25 Apollo . For $230 it’s so much thicker and looks way better. Was a little bit of fitting but if you’re comfortable swapping the grip yourself then you can file fit the parts
I'm curious about what fitting you needed to do to use the stock grip safety and main spring housing. On mine the main spring housing pin hole doesn't line up with the Apollo housing. The grip safety also rubs the top of the mainspring housing. Any chance you could show what and where you filed to make it all fit
@BenBrown-thehandcoder ... That's where mine was making contact as well, and it didn't take much filing to get it done. I had to file the top of the mainspring housing, just where it was making contact with the grip safety, and just enough for the grip safety to function properly. Once I did that, the pin hole was aligned on mine.
Hi and thank you for the nice video. My question is where I can buy a Prodigy frame/grips ? I already check their website and there is nothing on it like grips and really want to replace mine too and want one for my Tisas B9R DS also. You say the grips cost about $40 box. Please let me know where I can buy it from. Thank you . Teddy from BGGUNS.
@BGGUNS ... Thanks Teddy! To get the grip module, you will have to call Springfield Armory directly at the number on the "Contact Us" page of their website, and order it over the phone since they do not list the grip on the website. And yes, the grip module cost about $40 when I ordered it.
@@BGGUNSWere you able to get the prodigy grip module to work on the Tisas? I had to do a fair amount of fitting to get it to work. I have the Tisas Carry version, though.
@ Hi Sir, I use the Prodigy grip for Apollo 11 compact not for my Tisas 1911 B9R. It works perfectly with just a little adjustment and actually I was able to use the magazine release and the main spring housing from Apollo 11. It’s a much better than the original grip module I really like the texture on it. Will post the video soon. How ever still waiting on my order for XP PRO CHROME from Fusion Firearms and this is one of the best new 2011. Hope will get it before Thanksgiving, fingers crossed.
@themotorhino1331 ... You can get a threaded barrel from places like Jarvis Custom, Bar-Sto, and Fusion Firearms. Jarvis and Bar-Sto offer drop-in barrels that should require little to no fitting at all, but Fusion sells match barrels that will require quite a bit of fitting. The Apollo 11 uses a Wilson/Nolan ramped bull barrel, so any place that you can get one of those should be fine, but there will be fitting involved if it's not specifically stated that it's a "drop-in" barrel.
Good video bruh... $40.00 for a much better grip is a damn good option. I saw a video with QVO Tactical and the Apollo 11 was having issues with the trigger not engaging or firing and he suspected the grip being an issue if that's the problem with the Apollo 11 it seems to be a quick fix if so I may still consider one for my project pistol. Nice job bruh... 😎
@Thomas-vt7cz ... Thanks! And yeah, most of the issues I've had, and seen from others, are pretty easy to fix with some minor adjustments or fitting. My Apollo has a low serial number, so it probably came from the first batch and has more issues than a later production would have.
I got the trigger directly from Fusion Firearms. It's the flat K-hole trigger. There's a few sellers on Ebay that sell Fusion triggers and parts as well.

Just got mine, too. Really excited to run it at the range.

@jujuscustomshop Yeah, they are pricey from what I've seen, $250-$500 on average. Maybe worth an investment later.
Did you ever find another inexpensive grip? I hate the way the prodigy grip looks personally and the apollo grip feels better imo anyway.
@nygaardn1 Not yet, but I'm still searching. My Apollo 11 project is slightly on hold due to me dumping funds into other projects. Considering an Atlas trigger and Staccato grip however.

What mag extension are you using, and do they prevent over-insertion as well as higher round count?
@markh.bradfield9883 ... I'm using 20rd Staccato 140mm magazines.

Just pin the grip safety, there’s literally no use for one unless you’re carrying this.
@LosDoyerss ... true, but I wanted to keep it functional, and it took about 5 minutes to fit it properly. Thanks for watching!
What optic is installed?
@@INSPEKTA383 ... Holosun EPS Carry
can it take standard 1911 parts?
@tulemike6627 ... Most of the internal parts are the same as a 1911, except the trigger, which needs a wider bow because of the double stack magazine.
REALLY! The gun itself would never serve a drop!
