The fact her car was the only one, I'd be suspicious. And maybe she wasn't alone? Maybe she was meeting someone and having a night out at a park. I'm sure she has done this multiple times. And most parks are lit at night. Not sure about the one she was at but again, most parks are lit. I am also sure she is aware how fucked up the US is and was careful. Women especially can't halt their lives because of these maniacs. Go in a group, arm yourself with bear spray, just be diligent. I'm sure if it was daylight she would have reacted the same way. The US isn't safe anywhere at anytime, but people can't stop living their lives. Government needs to step up.
Kapiolani park is well lit and is a popular place for people to go walking/running in the nighttime after the sun goes down on top of that police tend to canvas the area regularly wether by patrol vehicle or using a quad. On top of that it’s just outside of Waikiki and not even 5 minutes away from the Waikiki police station. It’s not out of the ordinary that people will walk in the park at that time
people are not realizing that on the mainland, there has been massive amounts of people getting mugged and taken in this fashion. Criminals put water bottles, paperwork and such on cars, especially in front of the driver's seat to block their sight when sitting down. Once the driver notices, will step out of the car to take it off and at that time be attacked. I guess its easier to get away when the car is either open and/or running already.
I am going to start leaving $1 on people’s cars. It’s not worth a dime now. That “laced” with something is a joke. Who’s got the money to waste and you don’t get to see the results. 😂
