    Hi Mel, Lovely fabrics you've picked out! I immediately thought of a bomberjacket in that velvet, it would look sooo good with the type of skirt you're making. And it would also suit your petite figure 😊

    Hi Mel! Yes, definately the Wiksten for that velvet! It'll be gorgeous! Would you do a seam binding on it since you won't be lining it? Curious because I have some heavier fabric to make a Wiksten and I need ideas for finishing the seam allowances. Thanks a bunch and happy sewing!😊❤

    Love the fabrics.I think ,with the coppery velvet fabric,you have to be careful it doesn't look fancy dress.So,Id chose the kimono style as it would bring out the decadence of the fabric. If you put paper under your fabric when cutting out,wouldn't it blunt your sewing scissors?

    • @HandmadeByDitsyTulip
      @HandmadeByDitsyTulip  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Maureen, I’m definitely going to go for the kimono, that’s by far been the favorite option ☺️ on the Crafts class it did mention about blunting scissors, that is a risk, but it said that doing it once in a blue moon ie when working with a silk it shouldn’t harm (still makes me nervous though). Another option is that I have some stiff interfacing (the cheap sew in stuff) which I may use instead of paper as that may also help the fabric to not slip about as it has some texture. ☺️💕

    Hey Mel! Love the colour choices and been loving velvet. How will you be finishing the seams of the velvet garment. Wondering if it can unravel more than other types of fabric thanks!
