I’ve seen the inside of the car in a different video. Reversing I believe takes a while since it’s a sequential automatic transmission so he has to dial back a few gears manually using a lever before he can reverse
When he spun in the last clip, I knew he was having a laugh with his co driver and discussing the best spot for a donut. He had to turn around it's a perfect spot, why not lol
I vaguely recall Modern a motor magazine doing a test on the HDT Magnum, based on the Statesman. Peter Brock demonstrated the car, and made the comment about a Statesman based rally car. Now that would be superb.

Great, some good donuts, he was doing well but cocked up going into that corner, remind us of when Escorts ruled in rallies RWD, until the Audi Quattro came along!!
Takes some serious driving skill to rally in a RWD car. Very easy to over turn in a corner without the front wheels helping pull, but sooo much more fun to drive. Sounds great....looks great.....wish I could join in....
Love it. The stage time is already ruined, might as well put on a show for the fans and photographers lol.
@Uncle Joe is he quick? Probably not but I bet he is having fun.

That's because they're a professional rally driver. Good ol' Greg from wagga wagga woop doing doies his commie unfortunately couldn't drive like this
Very spectacular and great sound. It’s a shame Holden don’t build cars anymore.
Love the v8, the race transmission and the gear change sounds.

Who cares if they are slower, as long as all competitors have RWD it gets exciting, and imo much more fun to watch.
