Definitely disney quest vibes & never knew there weren’t many Dave & Busters in the early 90’s I assumed it was an ultra 90’s thing. Large Bowling alleys were probably the closest thing we have/had in the UK? LA Bowl near me used to have dodgems, laser tag, bowling, pool & snooker and an adults bar and I’ve seen other similar places around the north too.
Yeah, it seems like it but it only really exploded in popularity in the early '00s from what I can tell. I reckon Sega Quest or Namco World in London are probably the closest we had...two more rabbit holes I could easily fall down in the future, haha.
Visited the Indy Block Party location maybe once a month while it was open. My favorite thing was really just the maze and ball pit area that was built for adults instead of kids. The arcade games were the same ones found all over the country, but the area was big and inviting at Block Party. The virtual reality game was somewhat laughable. The graphics compared to gaming systems now is just so different. It was a great place for adults to hangout. While alcohol was a focus to an extent, I never felt is was pushed to be a drink a lot, bar like experience.
I still have the credit card thingy they gave you to use in the arcades. Had no idea there were only two in existence 😮. Shame it closed down. It was epic! Why is Indy one of your fav cities?

@@DeadMallWalking ah yeah I never quite got to those, the Namco in the Trafford centre is ok but not on that scale I don’t think…

"Hardcore gamers are not known for their heavy drinking or hard partying antics" oh man you've clearly never worked in the games industry.🤣
Hah! Fair. I was thinking more of dudes like the WoW guy from South Park with that comment 😅
0:15 That's not DKC 😅
This is true! Unfortunately was relying on stock video for parts of this...haha.
