    I shoot an Impact Max, the Umarex Ruger, in .22.
    The CPHP 14.3 gr are fantastic. If I miss, i did something wrong. And that isn't often.

    Shoot a lot of them in .22 the .177 are heavy for some reason. I have the swarm whisper and it piles them up. It actually shoots everything fairly well

    I just ordered a tin of .22 RWS wad cutters that I’m looking forward to trying. I shot them through my RWS Diana model 45 years ago and were awesome. I’m plinking now with a 1322 with high pressure magnum Airguns valve that doubled the FPS

    Great insight into the Piranha pellets. I have not had any luck with the Piranha pellets in any of my 4 other air rifles except for my Crosman 1322 pumper. The 1322 seems to only like the smaller sized pe[[ets of 5.48 to 5.50 size. Larger pellets load hard or will not load. At 10 yards at just over 600 FPS the Piranhas will shoot 5 pellets under a nickel? Did you measure the head and skirt size of the pellets?

    • @ALLABOUTAIRGUNS
      @ALLABOUTAIRGUNS  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks I have checked these before but not lately I know the head size is greater than 5.51mm more like 5.53mm off the top of my head and the skirt is 5.6mm

      I have the crosman 1322 it likes heavy pellets and also like the light ones to. You just got to finesse the pellets in there and you're 1322 can shoot some pretty big lead the biggest LED I shot out of mine so far is 19.5 grain domes from crossman the crosman ultra-heavy and I've seen guys shoot up to like 30 gr pellets out of the 1322 with no problem unmodified gun 2

  • @1776adb
    @1776adb 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Piranha pellets have a different trajectory than the dome or hollow point Crosmans. If adjusted and fired exclusively they're good but switch while shooting and all bets are off.

    That’s an interesting review ! I have never had this pellet to shoot accurate in any of my guns. The destroyer pellet falls into this category too. I started buying the crosman domed ultra magnum pellets at our local tractor supply store a few years ago. These pellets are amazing in my hw98 and the Gamo urban 22. At 25 to 40 yards these two guns will put these pellets through the same hole. Good review my friend . Thanks !

  • @paddlingfan1
    @paddlingfan1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well Done! Very interesting. Who would have thought. So you just file to a diameter equal to the top of the card? This leaves the skirt at 5.56?

    • @ALLABOUTAIRGUNS
      @ALLABOUTAIRGUNS  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! Most skirts across my collection of pellets I have a 5.6mm diameter when I run the file across it squares the skirts walls and shows whether skirt is centered or oval...seems the oval allows the pellet to fly better because it must act as a ramp for the air allowing the pellet to center it self at most possible

    Me and my crosman air guns must be the exception here. The Piranha pellets shoot very good out of all 3 of my 22 cal guns. Almost hole in a hole at 30 yards. One is a modified Co2 2400KT with a 21" barrel, one a Crosman Phantom springer, and the other one is my self built Crosman Discovery. I really like these pellets. How often do you find one pellet that shoots well out of all of your guns.

    • @ALLABOUTAIRGUNS
      @ALLABOUTAIRGUNS  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice! It really depends on the distance I'm shooting ...sometimes I modify the pellets to better my initial results at various ranges try to stay sub moa at all ranges unless I have to settle with something less

    The piranhas are a question mark. One day they shoot good, hole in hole, the next day you might hit 2-3 hole in hole and the rest may hit high, low, left or right. Does it in all my (6) 22 pcp rifles. (Don't know why) What I like about these pellets is they do major, major damage just like the H&N terminators. They are not really made for 50 yrds, unless its rabbits and squirrels, racoons, and foxes. You can hit birds @ 50 yrds but it wont be on a consistent bases. Also they tear up, and leave big exit holes. So if you shoot pigeons or doves to eat, then you will need head shots, otherwise they tear up the birds. I've shot crows @ 50 yrds chest shots and when you pick them up and see the exit it made, you be like DAMN. Does the same thing to a turtle shell.

  • @jamesleary1405
    @jamesleary1405 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I fully get what you're saying on the price but it's still a good price compared to other companies like H&N and so on. Some of these companies prices are insane especially when it's only a 150 count for around $25 to $30 bucks on some of these other brands.

  • @jamesleary1405
    @jamesleary1405 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Question with the accuracy did you shoot rested or free handed? I ask cause I had some mix results myself and I know my scope is on. I mean honestly accuracy will always depend on several thing's as it's also up to the shooter to be steady and of course you have wind and unfortunately as I've learned over my 30+ year's that you always have those few pellets from any company that aren't exactly perfect. Even on higher end pellets I've pulled several out of tins that shouldn't have made it into the tin to begin with.

    $10.50 ÷ 400 =
    2.6 c a shot. I sometimes hold a free, but quite costly day class of rodent manners teaching. No papers to fill out or hidden charges. By the tunneling, concrete-threatening guerillas getting a 16 gr., .22 caliber chunk of lead thru the lungs, they find their afternoon plans spoiled, without the pellet expanding at twice the price. Really, at that scale, a .22 is a baseball.
