The thing I love about KSP is that it has a very long and gradual learning curve. You start by just pressing space bar, then finding out that liquid engines need to be throttled, then going to orbit, then going to the Mun, then going to orbit efficiently to save more fuel, then Minmus, then Duna, and then anywhere else. You don't have to be a professional rock climber to climb a hill, and KSP's learning curve is that hill.
@@f3p Nah, they're making a moon base, which is new tech, and it's being done with Japan, Italy, Canada, Australia, Luxembourg, and others contributing tech and astronauts.
'This is KSP, and here is no problem that can't be solved with moar boosters.' Truer words have never been spoken, although, the most efficient Mun and Minmus landers are actually a combined descend and return stage, since that module is usually small and leight enough even for late game to get on the surface on either of the bodies and then return safely, especially considering the lack of atmosphere and small gravity. Apollo-style landers are only really a thing for inter-planetary flight since these bodies are significantly more massive and can include an atmosphere too.

Worm tips There are 3 main ways of achieving fuel efficiency with multiple boosters 1 - Fuel goes straight into engine fuel is attached to 2 - Fuel goes into both engine fuel is attached to and main engine fuel is not attached to, engine and fuel is decoupled after running out of fuel. Easily triples the height gained by the rocket from my experiences 3 - Full asparagus staging, fuel cycles through different fuel tanks, detaching one set of fuel tanks at a time, until all the extra engines are removed and you are left with just the main engine, fully fueled. From my experiences, when using this, it doesn't double the altitude gained from level 1, it roughly quintuples it. Often times can be unstable during flight, however with a little more precision during assembly, changing the ejection force of decoublers, limiting the gimbal of the engines, you unlock a relatively stable, extremely efficient launch system.
For the g-turn, it wasn't too early; it was too late (too steep). The general rule of thumb for highest efficiency is to have a heading of 45° at around 10km. Btw use F5 to quicksave and F9 to load the quicksave.
Here is an efficient (though not very stable) method for getting into orbit. 1- Liftoff with about 1.20 TEP. Use sea level engines like Mainsail, Vector, Swivel etc. 2- Inclinate about 10 degrees every 100m/s 3- While below 50km, do not let your TEP go higher than 1.90. 4- Use vacuum engines such as Terrier, Poodle, Skipper or Rhino for higher stages.
