      @@Z0RDR4CK meh we'll see. Studies have shown our country has not moved an inch to the right, or left for that matter, since the first windmill was built in 1082. So our windmill plan seems full proof. Furthermore, Ever since we started building windmills for electricity along the coast line, with the exception some tourists we haven't had any large scale German invasions. so it seems to work the other way around as well.

      As a kid who had moved from Alaska to Louisiana, doing tornado drills was definitely rather scary. The one day where my city was extremely close to having a tornado (it passed over us but hit the next town), my mom pulled me from school. Imagine my surprise and happiness to hear my name called on the intercom that my mom was there to pick me up!
      She'd been at the store though and the tornado passing over had cut the lights briefly. My middle school had a central brick building but many of the classes were also held in trailers on the school grounds. To get between wings of the school, we oftentimes had to walk outside with just a tin roof over our heads. She was worried I wouldn't be protected enough at school, so she pulled me out so we could shelter at home. Not sure how smart that was, but I appreciated the half-day. The bad weather didn't last much longer so we didn't even shelter all that much.

      It's concerning all the filming going on from inside, and around, a plywood box inside an aluminum can. RVs aren't even remotely close to being a true shelter from a tornado.

    • @suchnothing
      @suchnothing 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@zairac2564 yeah in a lot of cases you're actually safer outside an RV than inside it. The RV can get pushed, rolled, or even picked up and dropped if the tornado is strong enough, and that can send furniture and other items crashing onto you, or toss you around the inside. If you're in a vehicle or similar and a tornado is coming, the best thing to do is go outside and find a ditch or other low point in the ground, and lay flat while covering your head and neck with your arms. Although I understand that this is counterintuitive. Most people's first instinct will be to stay as sheltered as possible. But unless the shelter has a solid in-ground foundation, it's only going to make things worse for you.

      Australia was New Holland (Nieuw Holland) and New Zealand was Nova Zeelandia (after Zeeland in Netherlands).
      Dutch explorers mapped parts of both, hence the original naming. Just interesting how New Zealand didn't change much. While Australia was changed, taken from the Latin Terra Australis / Southern Land, largely because they didn't want New South Wales to be in New Holland, so they shifted New Holland to the Western side of Australia. Interestingly enough, New Zealand was part of New South Wales at one point also.
