- In this episode, we investigate inside the abandoned B-Block at Sutton hospital. The hospital opened in 1899 with various new buildings being built and demolished throughout the years since. We had heard of many ghost stories since being abandoned so we thought we should go and search for ourselves to see if we could get any answers.

My theory on spirits and temperature... I agree with you that spirits are energy that = warmth... but if the spirits are taking the available energy from a room then that would leave the room colder. The spirit would then be warmer than the room which is why, when using the Flir, I find warm spots more interesting than cold spots.
I think as well an important point is that energy and heat are related but not the same 👻 would be cool to start a conversation here about peoples thoughts
I could actually geek out on this subject... bear with me on this.... Energy has mass but heat and light are massless...but heat can increase the mass of matter by adding energy to it...
With that knowledge think about spirits... Temperature changes before manifestation.
Something that appears to have no mass interacting with the physical world.
Something that appears to be physical yet can pass through objects.
I'm convinced spirit energy is somehow measurable but I'm buggered if I can work out how 😂🤣😂
I see where you're going, here, Urban, but I have to disagree with heat adding mass to something. Heat may cause expansion, but, since mass is a measurement of physicality, heat doesn't change the mass.
About the hot/cold stuff. I was thinking about Joe posing the query about why ghosts wouldn't be warm, since they're energy. I've been taught Urban's view - the ghosts "suck up" energy from the atmosphere to manifest. Thought to be contacted. . .
As I was thinking, I went off on a weird tangent. What if the perceived temperature is psychosomatic and under conditions of expectation, when a temp change is reported, the co-invevestigators, subconsciously, want to perceive the same. Just to control this (implausible) idea, an objective measurement with a temp detector gun would, I think, be recommended. 🤔

As you add heat energy it's molecules start to jiggle and it's mass increases.
I'm pretty sure you can blame Einstein and his E=mc².... But Google it "Does heat increase mass?"

The big machine that was on the wall in one of the first rooms you guys went into is called an auto clave. It is used to sanitize medical equipment for reuse. Another great episode.

Stopped me in my tracks, cause I have wondered same thing why ? In cold areas ..I work in cold environment , man made , ice rinks. So haunted have at least 5 experiences...but people i worked with say the same thing. I know dissimilar temps in bld...but its different ...like your rink phone (cell) calling your home number all night 4 × and turned off cause i had to return to rink with wife in hand to make sure something was not up ...phone turned off ...calls continued till 415am ...so strange.

That was great Elliot / Joe as there was so much activity there it was unbelievable except for the wind knocking those shutters and the door . That sink was amazing running water no sink or taps . I will never invite you guys to my house as it was built in the 1970s when asbestos was widely used, the garage complex has asbestos roofs which are regularly swept out, as was my childhood home where the garage was made entirely of asbestos & still stands to this day. You do wise to keep away from it, for my family we unknowingly at the time swept it regularly & its far too late for us, thankfully we're ok.

You guys earned a sub. I've been binge watching your stuff and you seem like quite down-to-earth, sensible chaps. But the main reason is because you don't do what a lot of other channels do and rely on the seeming crutch of the so-called "spirit box". To make up narratives based on whatever random radio station words you can pick out at the time. I find the whole notion of that device dubious at best and downright misleading at worst. For me, not using that gives your videos more of a sense of legitimacy. I'm still not really convinced of anything, but I don't suppose you really can be unless you experience things for yourself. Keep up the good work because as paranormal channels go... you seem to be giving the area a certain amount of stiff upper lip. :D
At about 13:29, you are talking about pipes, as you say “pipe lagging” and seconds before you say “and possibly”, there is a very quite whispery voice, i heard it without headphones, just streaming on my TV in the living room.

Just wanted to point that out, the ''cold spots'' are meant so that the ''spirit'' came through and got all the energy from the air, hence why the spot or moving spot becomes cold itself. Its cold because then the energy has been absorbed by the ''entity'' around you (or the location its been noticed).

Lath and plaster does have asbestos in it. The mud compound used to join two wallboards (drywall) together also has it. Almost everything in an old building would. The small 9x9 vinyl flooring as well. I’m sure the 12x12 does too but you’re almost guaranteed that the 9x9 will.
You should be “ok” walking through a building the way you two do as long as you’re not disturbing the material in any way to create dust clouds.
Hello guys, I just found your channel. While watching this video, at the time of 5:10 you can hear a "hmm". I don't know if it was one of you? At 6:23 to :25 there are two fait orbs in the middle upper left of the screen and middle left of the screen looking down the hallway. At 7:16-18 there is a small flashing orb to the right of bother of you in the room. At 12:46-48 in the room ahead of you guys, it looks like something darker than the dark area moves from left to right? Look closely. At 17:55 there is a disembodied voice, I can not make out what it is saying? At 20:17 just before the recorder falls there was a whistle. Another whistle at 20:29.
At 7:38 I hear a whistle like noise.

I know this is an old vid...but I wanted to comment on the "energy being warm" topic Joe was talking about. I've always thought of it like maybe ghosties essentially take up all the surrounding energy, making the area around it cold. The ghostie may be warm, with energy, but the surrounding area, losing that energy is cold. 🤔

Secondly just a heads up ..I'm a demolition manager and that lagging on the pipes looks very much like flock that's just as bad as AIB ( worse kind of hazzy ) plus when you see larve and plaster in old buildings it's full of horse hair which when mate into plaster contains anthrax so try not to disturb it boys .. anywho good luck 👍
Joe your right Heat being energy, but you need to understand that heat can be pulled from temps as low as -236.15 degrees celcius (-460F) which is ABSOLUTE ZERO. Heat Energy and temperature also are not directly related, Temp and Atmospheric pressure are. Something can have a ton of heat but still feel freezing cold to the touch. If the dimension that the ghosts live in is in a different atmosphere unrelated to the one we live in somehow, then all bets are off to why their presence feels cold to us. Cheers.
Maybe the reason some people feel cold when paranormal hunting is because when they’re surrounded by spirits, the heat energy they are giving off is warmer than what the person is feeling there for it makes them feel the cold more because the energy is warmer than them. If you know what i mean…
