Yeah, the powder coat on those stock wheels was awful. Worse looking than Plasti-dip. Hopefully they don't have to use those "winter wheels" very much.
Hey guys, speaking of superchargers, I bought your supercharger and header from the FRS. I finally got the car tuned by Touge and it's awesome. I'm sure I'll see you at TMP eventually!
As a Subaru guy, I've always thought it would be better to supercharge an AWD/boxer powertrain than to turbocharge it. The handling and the AWD keep it so connected to the pavement, that instant boost seems to make more sense than the balancing act of a tuned turbo. Of course whatever floats your boat.
Regarding the inner tire wear- I have a 2nd gen IS that has the same suspension design. The LCA rear bushing is a HUGE rubber piece that offers a ton of compliance. I replaced it with a poly bushing and the wear went away. The change in NVH wasn't perceptible either.
This is the cure, my 98 ls400 ucf20 and 2nd gen IS face this issue with the Lca bushings. It'll cause significant play in kid-heavy braking, play in the wheel when going over bumps and causing severe inner sidewall wear. Hopefully they see this comment
I just replaced my LS430 rear LCA bushing with poly and now it creaks like CRAZY when under decent compression/droop. I installed it with preload on the arm. is it supposed to be greased? I believe I just sprayed Silicone.
I thought they were plug in play sets. Not sure about the grease or silicone add-on. I would reach out the manufacturer, probably send you another set if they’re faulty.
Would love to see some 2URGSE action here. I'm a GSF owner here and would highly recommend the GSF as it fit the criteria for replacement. Looking forward to what you guys have in store! Keep them coming!
Finally intercooled my 400 and the difference is noticeable, but the piece of mind is priceless. I found a nice heat exchanger that will fit behind the lower grille as well, which would help your LS keep that awesome OEM+ look. Looking forward to seeing more updates. 👍
I'm doing this build too, my heat exchanger just came in last night. A lot of work but I'm definitely excited for the end product! Let me know if you find any tuning options!
@@Mr15Rogers I have numerous tuning episodes on my channel, but I stick with affordable fuel enrichment options vs. expensive standalone options. The car now has an 8psi pulley on it and pulls hard at an 11.5 AFR target. I figure I'm at 330whp, or +100whp over stock (GS400 is about 235whp in stock form).
The rear bushings on the front lower control arms are very compliant on Lexus cars. The toe is always changing when braking and cornering causing inner edge tire wear. This is a very common issue on those cars. Check out Figs suspension or RR racing to get a stiffer option.
My 2004 is the best car I've owned in my 58 years. It'll probably be the last car I own as well. It's stock with the sport suspension and I love it just the way it is. I can't even imagine the need to supercharge it. And I would definitely never lower it.

I think the OEM wheels might look better with black lugs - still looks gorgeous ❤
don't lie them wheels he got on there is butt ugly dog shite, eyesores that are so fkn ugly you cant even see the rest of the car; whole time you're staring at those *hideous* wheels wanting to vomit, thinking how anyone could have such poor tacky taste
I love this car & this build it was AWESOME! I wouldn't replace that gem of a car if anything I'd keep it & yes that IS-F would be nice but how about a IS 300?
Your average fuel economy in the LS430 seems very similar to my 2011 IS350 F-sport! That's good going for a supercharged V8
lovely ride
You got to put an real exhaust on the LS before you move on to the next one. I’d love to see what this be like and sound like with a full three inch.
You guy inspired me to buy and ls430!!!! And I want to do the same thing to mine!!!!
Ask any LS430 owner and they’ll tell you the same thing; NOTHING drives like an LS430. Lexus; the endless pursuit of perfection.
Nice job! Can this SC built be adapted to the LS460?
Definitely do an isF series!!!! That would be great!
You can clean paint transfer off of a clear coated car with a spritz of brake cleaner on a rag and about 3 seconds of wiping.
Toyota aristo/gs300 with the 2jz are great cars can be drifted, tracked, vip'ed etc
You guy should definitely put a taller rear in this car. I bet it would be a blast to drive
IsF is a great replacement . This car is so sweet though
Beautiful build, wheels are hideous but to each there own. This car deserves some chrome!
PLEASE go for the 2011+ IS-Fs!!! You’d have much more potential than the first gen ‘08 I’d feel like. Revisioned suspension/handling & better looking with the LSD. I really hope you guys get a 2011+
Those wheels are so sick
Audi RS7, MB e63, Porsche Panamera, 2nd gen Caddy CTS-V, Chevrolet SS
The stock wheels need a better refinish. It looks spray painted…
Spray painted with bad prep! I could get w better finish than that in my garage with cheap rustoleum.
