Mr Bones is tied with Snap and Nora for my favorite canon characters. All of the main characters in the Aftermath trilogy have been basically forgotten. Sinjir, Jaz, and Nora have never been heard of since to my knowledge. Snap got that undeserved death in TRoS.

Just a note, the present tense of the Aftermath novels made them almost impossible to read, but that same tense works great for the audio book. With the great voice actor they used, and special effects sounds, it was more like an audio play. And Mr. Bones was hilarious! They even used the proper electronic modulation so the voice actor would sound like him!

Disney's explanation of how the Empire suddenly disappeared from the Galaxy is pretty hard to believe, which is why I think they are trying to make up for it with the Mandalorian. I was very glad to see they put him in the game.

Something I’ve been hoping for a while to see would be a canon vs legends comparison of Thrawn. I’m a younger Star Wars fan and all the books I have are part of the new canon because I enjoy being able to get books as they come out and see crossover in other media, however my dad has the original legends Thrawn trilogy and I read abs greatly enjoyed it. I would love to know your thoughts on Thrawn in canon vs legends. In my opinion the legends Thrawn feels more realistic compared to the very min-max canon Thrawn but I like how menacing and threatening Thrawn is, especially in rebels that I didn’t get from the legends trilogy.

I partially agree. Mr. Bones works and so does HK-47, but 0-0-0 and BT-1 just go too far and feel like the comic writers are trying way to hard to be violent and edgy.
Mr Bones is by far my favorite droid outside the original top dogs of R2D2 and C3P0. mr bones cracked me up in aftermath and was by far one of the best characters in that entire series and one of the funniest droids ever written into the novels. i loved that a huge part of what made him so badass with his vibroblades was that his programming was also deeply programmed with different classical dancing techniques that he uses. the dances paired with his fighting and blade work makes him maybe the deadliest droid there was. i know snap was a good pilot and all but they shouldve had this guy on working with droids. mr bones is one of my favorite canon and eu non human characters in all of the lore. honestly him and ooryl are probably my favorite two supporting characters in all of the novels. my eyes welled up in tears when mr bones died on jakku. i really cant think of a character in any of the novels canon or eu that made me more distraught after their death. thanks for covering mr bones Eck, hes under covered and under loved in the lore
I actually got Aftermath at a bookstore, without knowing anything about it, other than what was on the back of the book, and when I found out it was the book that Mr. Bones was in, I got even more excited to read it (I had seen a bit about him and liked him a lot)

He arguably has one of the highest kill counts for a Droid in all of Star Wars. I would dare argue to say that his kill count is only exceeded by the Skywalkers. By my estimate, Chopper is responsible for over 50,000 deaths. Most of them are indirect through sabotage, and he also killed like three or four droids as well. Dude was a straight savage. He also suggested infanticide on one occasion, not to mention his numerous attempts to kill Ezra.

It's looks posable that HK-47 could be put back in cannon as Disney hasn't done much of anything with Star Wars pre phantom menace. So they could consider knights of the old republic cannon and that would make HK-47 cannon and say that the corrupted data survived all that time and was one of the parts used in Mr. Bone's modifications. Like a blood thirsty droid curse. Between this and zombie Death troopers we got that making a good Star Wars horror story.
Funny thing today, at work we watching The Clone Wars animated series. The stupidity [and hilarity] of the B1 droids was constantly pointed out. Unlike, regular B1s, an animated or live action Mr. Bones might scare viewers.
Aftermath has a lot of problems. KrimsonRogue made a three hour long video breaking down the problems with the first book in the trilogy. But despite that, I think all the characters were incredible.

Imagine this scene: Old Ben Kenobi saves Luke from The Tusken Raiders, but, when he makes The Krayt Dragon noise to scare The Tuskens off, it's not one of the sounds in either the original version of A New Hope, or in later versions. Rather, it's The Krayt Dragon roar from Season 2, Episode 1 of "The Mandalorian". That would be cool to see!

I loved the Aftermath trilogy especially Life Debt, that was my favorite book from the trilogy

Aftermath has a lot of problems. KrimsonRogue made a three hour long video breaking down the problems with the first book in the trilogy. But despite that, I think all the characters were incredible.
Sounds like Mr. Bones is like if the eponymous robot from “Scud: The Disposable Assassin” were made in the world of Mad Max. I should check our Aftermath.
I got a video idea, that isn't battle-related! Imagine this scene: Old Ben Kenobi saves Luke from The Tusken Raiders, but, when he makes The Krayt Dragon noise to scare The Tuskens off, it's not one of the sounds in either the original version of A New Hope, or in later versions. Rather, it's The Krayt Dragon roar from Season 2, Episode 1 of "The Mandalorian". That would be cool to see!
#AskEck When "The Mandalorian", Season 2 premiered, why didn't Dave Filoni, and the other producers use one of the sound effects from The "Ben Kenobi saves Luke from The Tuskens" scene of A New Hope? A "modified" version of the original sound effect (whichever one it may be) would have been nice, but, instead, we got a whole nother roar for The Krayt Dragon. Why can't anyone make a concrete version of the sound effect, and be done with it?
