I visited North Korea in 2015, and from what people told me, they are more confused as to why you allow your government to sanction them, which results in starvation and death of 1000s. They certainly don't hate all Americans, infact I travelled there with 2 Americans who got along very well with locals. I think it is a case of Americans thinking North Koreans are brainwashed, and North Koreans thinking Americans are brainwashed. I think in reality every government, including western ones, lie to their people in order to stay in power.

Things like this make me, an American, feel like an outsider when around other Americans. These videos just reinforce the assumptions, that are generally full of misinformation, that Americans have about people form other countries. Go to North Korea for yourself, throw the media's portrayals and opinions out the window because honestly they should never be what you use to formulate your own opinions. When you talk to people in North Korea (there's more people who speak English there than you think), you can feel just how carefully they're choosing their words. It's as if they're stuck between trying to not insult you and trying to not say something bad about their country. I met quite a few extremely nice people there, people who were genuine. It's not against the law to be friendly to foreigners, it's more that it's frowned upon than anything else. And, this channel, from the looks of the thumbnails I can see without leaving the page, looks like it's more interested in views than actual information. "Hidden Secrets of Women In North Korea Exposed"? "Inside the Lives of The Rich Kids of North Korea"? "10 Weird Jobs All Women Must Do In North Korea"? Between the titles and the thumbnails, these look like they're just going to have more of what's in this video, which basically toned down propaganda itself. From what I remember it went like this: US journalist: do you think all people in the US are evil? Kid: yes Journalists: would you kill them all if you could? Kid: yes Journalist: what about me? Do you think I’m evil? Kid: no your ok I’d let you live but I’d kill everyone else. These words still haunt me today. This kid was probably 4 years old. Chilling.

Things like this make me, an American, feel like an outsider when around other Americans. These videos just reinforce the assumptions, that are generally full of misinformation, that Americans have about people form other countries.
Go to North Korea for yourself, throw the media's portrayals and opinions out the window because honestly they should never be what you use to formulate your own opinions. When you talk to people in North Korea (there's more people who speak English there than you think), you can feel just how carefully they're choosing their words. It's as if they're stuck between trying to not insult you and trying to not say something bad about their country. I met quite a few extremely nice people there, people who were genuine. It's not against the law to be friendly to foreigners, it's more that it's frowned upon than anything else.
And, this channel, from the looks of the thumbnails I can see without leaving the page, looks like it's more interested in views than actual information. "Hidden Secrets of Women In North Korea Exposed"? "Inside the Lives of The Rich Kids of North Korea"? "10 Weird Jobs All Women Must Do In North Korea"? Between the titles and the thumbnails, these look like they're just going to have more of what's in this video, which basically toned down propaganda itself.
If you really want to know about North Korea, don't use videos like this. A lot of the things that were said about Americans weren't true, but they were far from being entirely false.
