I didn’t get a chance to ride this but I did get to sit on one and it was the only bike I’ve been on where I truly was comfortable and the fit for me was spot on just for those reasons I will be seriously considering one.
Brilliant bike. My only complaints are with with the switch gear. It is all too close to the hands and is constantly activated accidentally.... the high beam switch, the +/- switches, the left arrow switch, the C1/C2 switch. Annoying as shit. Oh, and the electric key, FFS. NO BIKE IS IMPROVED WITH AN ELECTRONIC KEY. Fischer-Price start switch is ugly as sin but functionally at least it isn't a problem.
Thanks for the video and it really is very nice and also impressive. That said, the price is getting serious now and that’s without the Tech Pack. I’d still love to have one though!
177cm 5.8” ish i have the same problem. I’ve got the 1290 evo I leave it low ride mode in town riding and standard hight rest of the time as helps sharper steering . The good thing with the evo shame it couldn’t self adjust as coming to a stop, like the BMW GS . Instead of manually changing it .
What is your first pick for riding in the city?? Very good video..I am tired of all the "track" reviews..Track reviews are pretty dumb and 99% of the bikes never even drive past a track.
i'd get the 990 duke no doubt - my mantra is and will always be: every kilo a bike doesnt weigh is worth more than absurd horsepower numbers. An agile bike that has great torque in the low/mid range with good thrust on top as well is perfect - among colleagues we like to call the 120~hp zone the "goldilocks" zone for motorbikes, they dont weigh excessively much and have more than enough power for the roads. If I were to go on track regularly I would get neither of these but a clapped 600cc 4cylinder have as much fun as possible and save the rest of the $$ for other stuff.
This is one of those bikes suited to those guys for whom too much is never enough. Unless you're using this machine very hard indeed on the track every weekend, you're literally wasting your money. On the other hand, many people buy themselves an Aventador...
Just got off my '23 1290R Evo. These are bikes that make you want to ride them again. That's worth a lot.
