I am a professional videographer for over 20 years and I can tell you for sure that this is an amazing -to the point- video without blah blah... Great stuff especially for young wedding videographers that struggling to have a flow of the day. Well done !!!
I'm shooting my first wedding vid in July and I've been super nervous up until finding your channel. You calm and relaxed attitude towards it all helps me feel that way too and more importantly, I feel excited about the day now! Thanks for all your helpful insights, you've gained a new subscriber!
I really appreciate this video tutorial and commentary. I’m doing my first videography wedding session tomorrow, and it’s for a friend! I’m super nervous but very excited to delve into the world of videography.
I am so happy to have seen this video. Am having my first wedding video soon and this video has really given me the idea on how to start my day. Thanks a lot.
Thanks!!! Great advice you hit the nail on the head. We always shoot too much footage. I like the idea of focusing on those shots that will build the story. also will save a ton of time going though your footage a week or so later.
So Glad I've found you. I have just booked my first wedding client yesterday have watched about 5 of you videos now. I have a bachelor in Film and Television. Just graduated last year. So excited to learn everything I can from you in the meantime. I've learned so much already new subscriber. Very passionate about wedding videography.
I always looks forward when you upload Jaired, I'm in my second-ish season of weddings, and have come a long way, but still have a lot to learn in terms of telling a story through visuals and audio, but with your help (and other awesome veterans in the field) I've been able to progress way farther than I ever thought I would in such a short time. Your style is the style I'm going for, and it helps that you use the same camera I upgraded to earlier this year, so I know with practice, I can get stunning images like yours!
Once again super valuable information!! I Struggle with Bride prep a lot, idk just being a guy I feel awkward, but I love the approach and practical advice you give here, super helpful
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THE VALUABLE INFO THAT YOU SHARE ON THIS CHANNEL yes I'm using capital to signify how AWESOME I find your channel AND the QUALITY OF YOUR WORK. I'm starting as a self trained videomaker and you channel is a gold mine. Thank you so much for existing and sharing your experience !
You definity my favorite wedding filmaker so farrrr, just wanna say this amigo. Can you do a video of your favorites poses/moments for el cinematic wedding, thanks brooo , my dude mi compadre hahaha
These tips videos are amazing! Please keep them coming! Its really helpful when you include what type of lens, the shutter speed and etc for each different scene. Subscribed!
Thats great! Yeah I wanted to try to be as informative as possible so thats great this video translates well for the technical. Happy to have you here!
Your sooooooooo under-rated man!! Love your content and how clear and precise your instructions are!! My biggest take away from this not to overshoot (Guilty) and shooting these bride prep shots on a 50mm range!! That’s always been an uncertainty of mine so thank youuuuu!! I’ve subscribed, hit the bell and now commented hahaha!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Haha wow thank you so much for the amazing comment! I am so so happy to have you here and even more siked that this video has helped and provided some value for you!
Love your style bro! Seriously . I’m just getting started in wedding I’m super nervous because it’s a new adventure but I’m excited for the future! Your content really helps man. Keep pushing bro
Excellent video as always man. Just bought your LUTs and they are 🔥🔥! Was wondering if you could tell me what lens you're using at 7:32 for that shot of the bride sitting down?
Great advice man! I like the part about letting the moment settle before trying to direct! One thing I struggle with is working with photographers. In the sense of getting the shots I need. I tend to let them take control and I just get shots on the sides. Would be great to hear your thoughts on this 👍
Thanks Beth! For sure, Typically I would have Cam 1 focused on the grooms reaction. 85 or 135mm. For your second camera, I would have this as your aisle camera capturing the bridal party/bride. During the ceremony, leave Cam 1 on groom and have your second camera shifting between right side and aisle. You can cover a lot of ground this way and at least gives you multiple perspectives to cut away to. Of course you could just leave it as an aisle cam as well but you would sacrifice possible family reactions and bride vows from a different angle. But vows are most important so just making sure you cover this moment, the rings, the kiss and the exit you will be set.
Great video!I would like to ask you with which camera you shot at around 8 minute and if you used log profile, because the dynamic range looks like sony, but the colors looks like canon
Hey man! Love your videos. Although it's a year ago, i hope you could help me in something technical. youve mentioned the use mutiple prime lens for a scene. I wonder how did you go about balancing that on a gimbal as you change your a different lens quickly. Or do you not use a gimbal at all? Would appreciate it, thanks!
Hey friend! I don't use a gimbal at all anymore. I am mostly hand-held throughout the day. If I were to use a gimbal I would recommend a Zoom lens like a 24-70 to help you diversify your angles.
Awesome man! Thanks! Ome last question, you mentioned in other video that beginners should shot in neutral profile instead of log due to the difficulty of exposung log profiles. What profile would that be called in your sony cam? Is it HLG3? Thanks again! Subed
@@gundam00z S-Cinetone if available or Cine4 picture profiles are what I typically recommend but testing out some different profiles to see what gives you the desired look is a good practice!
@@WaywardNorth Nice. I shot and now editing my first wedding. Not paid, just there beside the actual videographer for experience. I do feel weird with my small gh5 even though it's a capable camera. But I can't shoot 10bit in 50fps. So I have to consider when switching from 25 to 50. Do you manage to film everything solo?
shooting my first wedding tomorrow. Thankfully I've teeamed up with an experienced wedding filmmaker to help me and think this will be a great help

Love the 4-5 shot standard. I'm going to remember this!
Great advice talking about the relationships in the day and making those smooth so that the rest is smoother ! Key shiiiiiit
I use to film a lot of bride prep and my past brides loved the raw footage. So its not a total lost.

Idk how you get the colors you do, but they’re outstanding, And you have a nice softness to the image. Good stuff.

so true!! great content, keep up with the excellent work
Great job, and it applies to documentary filmmaking as much as it does the wedding filmmaking - actually they’re both the same
Shot at 3:34 looks beautiful. Thanks for this my friend.
Great content. Do you shoot in LOG? Do you use a LUT package of some sort or grade on your own?
Thanks for great information, I ask you EDITING and lighting please
Nice tips, Jaired, thanks ! Do you use a gimbal during the bride prep ? Would you recommend that or we could get away with hand held shots? cheers..
Another helpful video Jaired! I love the colors and look to your wedding films.
Thanks so much friend! Means so much, seriously!
Other than the 50mm what other lenses you use and recommend? Amazing video and really helpful!
Very helpful. Thanks for sharing !!!
Great videos 🥳 thank you 😊
What is the best way to capture the bride walking down the aisle?
How many cameras to use, how to position the etc ?
Great question!!! I have a "How To Film The Ceremony" Film coming very soon :)

do you shoot 60FPS through everything or you do 24FPS as well?
Hey bro, would you want to do a collaboration video on wedding films? Perhaps a Vlog or tutorial?
I have trouble with the reception.
I will be doing a reception video soon! What parts of the reception do you struggle with?
Just out of curiosity, do you film the whole day in 60fps?
how do you expose for the skin tone in camera?
5:50 Are those top down shots 50mm handheld? Looks quite smooth.
Yes indeed 🙏🏻

cameramen see the bride before the groom sees 😆
Do you shoot in log format?
please forgive me if I've asked this already but are you using a mist filter? Or as this what log footage looks like you coming out of the R6?
Hey! I am using the polar pro mist + ND filter. And yeah some shots were captured in C-log as well!

how do you wb for the day?
Hello i have a question its possible filming black and white in one wedding or depends?
I’d always film in color and then choose to convert to black and white in the edit later.
Ok nice one@@WaywardNorth
As you were saying you filmed to much unnecessary footage.. was the overlay examples of that unnecessary footage you are
