    Jennifer, You ARE An ANGEL!!!!! I had to give up making beaded pins, magnets using Mill Hill Beads and Bucilla Perforated Paper when I could No longer find the Bucilla perforated paper in 7 and 14 count. I tried using the 7 and 14 count plastic canvas however, it was too stiff. I did make my own perforated paper however, it was so time consuming I finally gave up. Now 20 years later...YOU came up with this video!!!! I can NOW start making my own perforated paper, Mill Hill Beads to make cards, beaded pins, etc. using Paper Smooches Cross Stitch Dies! Woo Hoo! God IS So Good! ^j^ (HUGS)

    What goes around, comes around. I first started making cards using cross stitch over 25 years ago. In most cases, I used perforated paper. For my granddaughter's birth announcement 22 years ago, I stitched little lambs on the perforated paper, tied a pink bow around the neck of the lamb and cut the paper in a square to fit the front of the card. You have given me great ideas that I can work on while on the go or just sitting in my chair watching TV.

    I am a stitcher and I appreciated every single second of this video! I came from your blog post to see it and I only wonder how I have been unaware of this die all this time!
    I actually quite liked the cards you said you were least sure of -- the plaid and the blocked one -- made me think of a modern quilt! i can't wait to get the die and get started! Thank you so much for taking the time to share this with us and so many samples -- and your travel bag!

    I absolutely love these cards! Watched the whole 40 min and found every card so pretty. Really inspired me to use my ridiculous amount of floss and thread to make cards like these. I like that they are something different than you normally see on handmade cards. love it!

  • @awenbunny
    @awenbunny 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Pearl cotton is gorgeous for this! I've only ever used floss for stitching on cards. Brilliant tip Jen! The finish would be so much smoother. Your designs are beautiful and like you said, made with easy to master stitches. Lovely to see handwork being encouraged. =D. Oh my! Love the rainbow Stitched card with all the flower sequins on it. So many ideas!

Love all these ideas and that fun Stampin' Up die. FYI if you have a sewing machine you can use it to make the holes. Adjust your stitch length to your desired size, put a large needle in the machine (denim or leather needles, but once the needle has been used on paper do not use it for fabric since the paper dulls the needle) no thread required. This is how my grandmother taught me needlepoint. She would use thin cardboard ( usually old cereal boxes) and stitch pictures on the box and give me a blunt needle and yarn and I would connect the dots. Then she would teach me stitches to fill in. Cheap craft using recycled materials. Can't wait to give this a try since I have all the materials except the die.

    Jennifer there are not enough words to express how amazing and lovely this craft idea is. I have needlepointed most of my life and my Mom learned to cross stitch to teach me. Alas, it became one of her favorite hobbies and I could never catch on to the counting that is required. We both however, loved embroidery. I think this right up my alley. What beautiful labors of love! These are absolutely framable -- especially for teachers. The die is quite useful for teaching kids to stitch -- wish that was around when my kiddos were smaller and I was a Girl Scout leader and Sunday School teacher. TFS.

    These are just spectacular. It is extra special when you can combine two things you love.

    You are truly 'one in a trillion' Jennifer! I am NOT a sewer or cross stitcher at ALL but I love your cards so much that I'm going to give it a go. I can't thank you enough for all you have taught me over the past 3 years when I first started my crafty journey. When one is housebound most of the time (and unfortunately there are a few of us out there), you can't imagine the impact that creating can have to help one have a more fulfilling life. You are truly a lifesaver. God bless you and your family Jennifer.
