Thanks, Natasha! My go-to quick template is two patterned paper rectangles, one reaching 2/3 down the card and the other taking up the bottom third. I add washi tape, a ribbon or a paper strip over the join. I add a premade embellishment (from the scores I have made from scraps), add to a panel. Voilà - a card!
I really appreciate a super easy tutorial like this. One of my favorite simple cheats is using a really pretty patterned paper as the background, a skinny strip of plain cardstock on the lower half, then a stamped sentiment on cardstock on top of the strip. Doesn’t have to match the base, but it can. It’s my go-to when my brain isn’t creative. Sometime the skinny strip becomes ribbon with a very cool die I have. 😊
Tell me Natasha do you ever sleep . Your mind must be buzzing the whole time with ideas 😂. Once again fantastic video and i will be using this idea . Thanks for sharing all your ideas x
It amazes me how much people appreciate beautiful handmade cards. I have learned so much from your videos! My friends and family will love these. Thank you!
We are just catching up after we've had a awful week and my lovely son who is 7 has discovered the word extraordinary and he really loved the last card. His exact words were I really like this card it's extordinary. Both my babies look forward to watching your videos I'm not allowed to watch without them. This video and your recent video have given me some inspiration as I've been struggling lately ❤xx
Wonderful cards. Great layout. And once again, I want to say thank you for getting right into your creations. Your videos are a joy to watch. Thank you for sharing. 😊🤗
A variation: when using double sided paper, place pieces in basic layout as shown. Before gluing, turn the left pieces over, move the top left piece to the bottom left and move the bottom left piece up. Slightly more asymmetrical.
NATASHA, this has to be my absolute favorite video you have ever made, I have a lot of 6x6 paper pads just waiting to be used up. Perfect layout, easy to decorate each. Card. You are AMAZING!
Regarding the DILEMMA of DOUBLE SIDED PAPER … “Oh dear, oh dear, which do I use?!?”. I’ve run into that a time or two, OR need one more sheet of one side or the other to make a layout work. When that happens I copy the paper I need onto HP 32# PREMIUM COPIER PAPER. As long as I’m copying a patterned sheet, the match is pretty good. The solid colors don’t often match closely enough to use on the same card.
You are right it is an easy layout. My favorite card is the last one with the aquas and the pinks. I find myself gravitating towards those colors often. Thanks for all the tips and tricks.
Sweet!!! I love, love the way just changing the colors or pattern of the paper makes the cards look so different. In the back of your mind, you recognize the basic shape is the same. But the awesome and creative selection of those colors and patterns leads you to see an entirely different style of card. I can see a little folio of these cards on my mom's desk for her to send to her 'snail mail' friends group. I this these could be put in a little box and given as a gift. Who gives stationery any more! I'd be thrilled to get a little box of these cards. This is a fantastic outine. Now my busy little brain is full of what ifs? Hhmmm... don't think this would work with circles........
What a good idea for using those crazy sometimes"I don't like that piece of paper" for! Truthfully I didn't think I'd like what you were doing. As always you got it to look really elegant! 🙂
Great, simple template. I always seem to think too complicated and there are times when we need to keep things simple! Thanks for the lovely card ideas.
Natasha, I have rewatched this and noticed that you used a paper pad that I have recently purchased. The florals are so gorgeous. Thank you once again for your amazing ideas. 😊👋
Natasha , I really need to get a or some coordinate paper pads . It would cut my time in designing a card , by a lot , I think . It would take me two days to do five cards . All my cards are unique , as my mind takes over and my paper cutter makes all the pieces , different sizes and shapes . I home school two granddaughters, and the one who just turned 11 and going to be in the 6th grade , chooses the colors for each card . She is a pen pal to my 4 year old great granddaughter , so she decides what colors , and what pages of stickers to put in the card . I create a little pocket , and the granddaughter writes a simple message to her little cousin . She also decides to use glue on jewels or little object cut out , like a bird, a flower , etc that is traced on contrasting paper . She also draws little pictures to put in the pocket ❣️Thank you for your inspirations . It is now July 2024, so commenting on an old video ❤️
Wish the "thumbs up" button had a "heart" option because I love this tutorial. I have so any papers and silhouette dies in my stash--you've just given me such inspiration for using them! tfs❤🧡💛💚💙💜
My absolute favourite is the pink flower one with the rectangular sentiment turned into a diamond. Really like the idea of paper pads for quick cards .
Fantastic cards, Natasha! Perfect layout for using up patterned papers...which I have tons of....ha! Definitely going to try this! Thanks for the inspiration :)
Natasha I don't know what to say; I'm Speechless 😮😊There all so beautiful cards. I've been in the dumps not knowing how to get out and these cards have inspired me so much. TFS Reaching out and giving your wee little one a sweet Hello 👋 Sending Love, Hugs and Tons of Smiles to you and your Family and your TH-cam Family ❤ Xoxo Vicki from the United States in the State of Utah 🍯🐝 Thanks again Natasha for helping me feel like getting back into the card crafting ❤😊❣
I have to make birthday cards for my choir, and i need about 40 cards. Thank so much for sharing this design, I'm going to get to and do some batch making.
I went straight into my craft room and did one that is my version of your FAB layout and design. You could do so many different things with this. I especially like the idea of matching papers in a pack. It makes it so easy for so many people. Thanks again, Natasha. ❤
Love your cards and the easy simple but elegant layouts🥰🥰by the way, I love to color, especially with crayons, for some reason when you color with crayons and then you outline the picture with crayons it gives the colored picture a very rich look to it.
Hi. All those cards are lovely looking but if I had to pick a favourite it would be the purple one just for the colour otherwise they're on an equal footing of loveliness. Thank you for sharing this great video and have a super day.😊
Such beautiful cards yet so simple. Definitely going to give it a go. I've got a couple of friend's birthdays this month, so as they say in the UK "job's a gud 'un 😊
This really is a visually satisfying layout! And with so many possibilities... stencils, embossing folders, large images... so Thank You for inspiring me out of my norm! 😂 They're all lovely but the first one (gold die cut) and the last one (floral wreath) stuck out for me😊
Oh my goodness I love these cards! I really need to test out that layout. The cards from the kit were absolutely stunning, especially that final 49 and Market one. Thanks so much Natasha 😊❤
I like this lay out idea. One that I default to, is just a strip down the left hand side. I have LOTS of border dies..that's my easy go smack on a similar color border and roll with it. :D hehe hehe
I always love to watch your videos. Everyone says to save all the bits and pieces. But you are the only one who shows us what to do with them.
