  • Bought these items all in store. Measurements provided below are based on my 16' Volkswagen Jetta and where I wanted the tablet or phone to sit. for the back of the tablet i used a metal plate from a magnetic vent mount from 5 and below. Since making this video I bought another plate from Home Depot and I'm using that on the back of the tablet and it's much more stable
Top Bend 1" bottom bend in opposite direction 5/8" of an inch
Nail plate from Home Depot $1.40

Peel and stick felt from Hobby Lobby $1.99 ( only used 1 sheet)

    Neodymium magnets from Harbor freight $2.79 ( i used 8 )

Perfect, I just followed the steps, and I did it. Smart, simple and way better than manufactured mounts, created by idiots. You're brilliant, your idea equal money.
But if our eastern friends founds it, they will copy it, get the credit for it, and sue you for copyright, pretending they did it first. You know the drill, Thanks & Bravo...

Cleaver. And it's much better than the ones sold in market. It stays close to the dashboard. Awesome idea 👍. Well done

I just want to let you know that your guetto diy works flawless. It’s so perfect. I got the thicker metal plate and one like yours. I used the thicker to bend and the thinner between the case and iPad 7 gen for more contact and more secure. I did double on the wrap on top to have less movement . It’s awesome thanks for sharing.

just use adhesive tape double side. I just put the tape on my stereo , stuck my iPad on there and pressed the taped area fot 15-20 seconds and it stood there not wiggling. I even tested is yesterday and it worked.

OMG you just saved me $700!!! I went to Home Depot and dollar tree for materials. 20 minutes and $7.16 later I had exactly what I needed for our road trip. It would have been under $7 but I got a smaller nail plate to tape to the back of iPad. Thanks

I don't comment on videos often but I just have to say that I really like this. I was looking for a way to mount my tablet and still make it easy to take out and bring indoors and this was it. I made one after seeing your video and it works great in my Mercedes. It makes for a clean install and you can barely see the mount. Good job.
