Just in case anyone wants to know, voids t&j loop is easier with the dash jump/dodge jump. You may want to use this for that combo, its more consistent and puts you in front of the opponent after down air, making slingshot easier to hit. I'm working on it myself, so tell me if this helps.
@@Ninequads93 I actually play with keyboard, but I know he put neutral special on r1 so he can immediately input slingshot. The key is to have buttons in place so you can easily dash jump and attack at the same time. So you may have to set jump with a trigger like L1,2 or R2
@@Ninequads93 I highly recommend mapping neutral special and neutral attack, as well as mapping dodge to a trigger (if you playing on controller). If on kb, same thing, but just make sure it is easy and instant for you to press jump attack and dodge simultaneously.
One thing I would like to add to this already great video is to BE PATIENT when u fight. Don’t expect to run before you can walk. I use to watch all these pro players move around then jump in a match and try to do the most. Nah, it doesn’t work like that. Just calm your nerves and THINK about your next action, then you’ll start to notice a big difference. Newer players often try to move around so damn much without even thinking doing more harm than good. Just take a breather. Lastly study other higher skilled players. I’m a WW main so I’ve been lucky enough to have Nakat as a resource to learn from his gameplay mechanics/movement. You’re bound to learn something new every single time. Also, pause and slow the video down if it’s too fast. Sometimes I can’t keep up so slowing the video down helps to catch movement and see combo strings you probably wouldve missed real-time. I hope this helps someone. Once again thank you Nakat for the great content.
Yeah I've noticed I lose more when I get lost in my opponent's tempo. Since I started watching my opponents and punishing instead of just rushing in, I've been doing better
@@ST-in7fo nope, you’re gonna drill bad habits into your muscle memory that way. 3:38 okay for anyone interested, this is pretty much the optimal movement he’s trying to show off, bookmarking it for myself cuz I need to get better at dodge-jumping yeah, So it looks like the technique is to move right , dodge-move, then jump quickly as soon as the dodge starts, & as you reach the highest point, allow yourself to fast fall naturally, use your double jump before hitting the ground & once again dodge , seems about right
This was very very very helpful. This will definitely help me with my spacing and setups with lebron thank you so much Nakat you are the goat you make awesome content✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
I just started trying to improve my movement and it hasn't been easy. But just yesterday I realized how to finally jump to the top of the map to chase. It might be obvious for some but alternating jumps and dodges to get more height to chase a kill just never occurred to me. Also is it just me or do attacks stop your momentum in air. Short hop aerials are easier but I screw up higher jumps because I'm too impatient. Solid video.

I dodge/jump constantly for the momentum but ill hav to work on incorporating the fast fall as well. Also the more i play WW the more i notice theres a clear string of her aerial moves that really help and are designed to help chase/combo fluidly in the air. Once my brain realized i need to jump/dodge between ea of these moves to keep up the chase/combo it began to feel a lot smoother gameplay wise.
@NAKAT th-cam.com/video/sEh4V_G6xCs/w-d-xo.html Ayo check out the movement tech guide, it has all the tech in the game movement wise and some hidden properties as well. I forgot to add in towards wall momentum jump
Thank you a lot for this guide is truly really helpful, I was borderline quitting the game because I wasn't able to move fast enough, the dash jump fastfall still looked way too show and I never thought about using another dash jump mid air
What's up Nakat. You missed something in your explanation. If you jump after fastfalling you jump higher, faster, and further. That's a big part of why you move around so fast. It took me a while to figure out how you were moving so much faster than I was when I was doing the same thing. Appreciate the guide man love your content.
This is a little confusing. "When you fast fall after you jump higher and faster" I kinda get what your saying but I'm still confused. So you jump high into a fast fall then dodge jump in air? So dodge jump high, fast fall, and dodge jump again whilst still in air? Or after you tap the ground and repeat?
@@YeoYolo he is saying you jump higher and faster after the fast fall no need for dodge jump just a normal jump after any fastfall you will go higher and faster

I use it all the time to catch people off guard before hitting Dair cause it's so instant
Wavedashing is a smash bros tech where you jump and immediately air dodge diagonally into the ground. You can do it in MVS but I don’t think it’s as useful, at least for WW. You’ll see sandstorm throw in a lot of wave dash shuffles when his matches end.

I really would like a video going into further discussion on how movement affects matches in MVs. Personally, it annoys me how free it is. Because it is so fast, there is really no time for nuanced play. It really is just dash jump to the opponent and just down air, if down air misses just dodge and you are completely safe. Whiff punishing is next to impossible in this game, especially if a character has a large hitbox directly in front of them. I wish there was more of a punishment for spamming dodge so people are more thoughtful on how they use it

As of right now I CANNOT find much on this, and its frustrating, so kudos for even approaching the subject. I find my main issue with movement isn't thinking about what to do next (Once I understand what my character's move set is for and how to implement it) but instead making my character actually do what I want. Great example would be comboing in general, often I try to pursue the enemy while they go flying, but when dash jumping for distance, end up too far sometimes, normal dashing, and I seem to lose out to the other person pressing buttons. There are too many situations to think of, but the underlying issue I feel I have is, "I want to perform X move after I hit my opponent with Y move, but I cannot seem to get my character into the right place." Its like you said yourself, most of us out here are moving quick, but without a purpose. What if I have a purpose, can move quick, and still mess it up?
