    Smaller dots are less messy but also less cool. Maybe set it back to population-scaled at the end of every episode to show the current state of the world?

      Agreed!!!

      It'd be nice if it ranged from tiniest to small or something along those lines.

    Very very impressive, I quite like the population dots, but if they are getting in your way, which they probably will for the rest of Asia and Europe then the small dots are still good

    @cheesyfeetgeoguessr4651 ปีที่แล้ว +17

    I like the smaller dots personally because it's easier for me to learn where cities are that I didn't know before :)

    I think I generally prefer the look of the tiny bubbles, but I definitely want to see the population bubbles for the HUGE cities, just for kicks and giggles hahah. So I think, like the other commenters have said, showing it at the end of the episode would be a good compromise? But really whatever helps you is optimal. Loving these videos, keep them coming

  • @arrowheaded
    @arrowheaded ปีที่แล้ว +15

    Tiny bubbles are good for when you're inputting because it's clearer for the viewers and likely helps you remember when you can see the country outline. It would be nice to show the population bubbles maybe at the end of the video or even each country so we have scale reference :)
    Question: Do you learn subdivisions to help with GeoGuessr (mostly) or to have the incredible geographical knowledge? It seems like a mix of both to me but would like to hear it from you.

    • @jakelyonsgeo
      @jakelyonsgeo  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I’d say it’s a mix - sure, it helps for geoguessr, but I also just find it fun and interesting. I’m thinking of trying to learn some in non-street-view countries soon for that reason.

    I like the tinier dots way better, it's just easier to see where the cities are. I think it's better for the viewer experience but also for yourself you can better identify which cities you may have forgot. Btw your knowledge is super impressive!

    Not gonna roast you for this one necessarily but i feel like My Lai would have been a more obvious Vietnam one. i honestly prefer the smaller city bubbles for dense areas like Java but otherwise both are fine

    Philippine data is kinda incomplete - maybe partially incorrect, as many barangays, the lowest level of administrative division, below what would be considered "cities" and "municipalities", will show up. I'm from there, quite a number of provincial capitals are not gettable in the quiz. Also, lots of similar place names among various provinces too so yeah
    PS: The game wants "Mandaue City" as of writing, for anyone curious. Also Maiduguri is in northeastern Nigeria
    The capital of Camiguin is Mambajao

    For dot size, I think tinier (rather than tiny) is better for getting a look are dense places, but by population is better for sparser areas like russia or south america if you can see all the dots

    I was waiting for you to type in Muntinlupa for philippines (my hometown), you did Taguig, Las Pinas, Paranaque, Bacoor which are the neighboring cities and skipped my hometown.🤣🤣
    Also San Pedro, directly south to Muntinlupa.
