One thing I really like about your video is that you react without pausing the song so that you can flow with the melody and feel it as a complete song, not separate parts of the song like other youtubers do ❤️

Finally saw the original by PuShu. It is epic too. Hua Chenyu made this special also. Check out that original. The guy and his band is incredible. Love both versions. Happy New Year from Australia.😊 By now you've realized that Hua Hua did not write this, but rearranged it to a completely new level. To any classical music buffs, he is like Mozart rearranging the work of his contemporary Salieri - transforming the pleasant into the stunningly brilliant.
What is rivetting about Hua Hua is his stage presence and masterly communication. Note how he is so still and self-contained for the first half of the song, and then there are small, very deliberate movements. Similarly there is very calm restraint in his voice, even as it beautifully hovers and floats. We both see and hear someone's realization that they need to accept being ordinary. That the struggle to be something more is too painful and exhausting. Their energy to fight is gone.
Thus the raising of the hands is a submission and determination to accept this. But those last heart-wrenching upper notes/cries tell us that there is still a vestige of struggle and grief. The acceptance of the ordinary path is painful and not fully complete. The struggle always is with the self, even to accept one's own decisions.
Good music transcends language. I can listen to an opera in German or Italian and love it without understanding a word. You reacted to Ordinary Path without subtitles, felt it's beauty and drew your own meaning from it. Good music always leads us to where we need to go.
Thank you for your sensitive reaction. Hua Chenyu is beyond brilliant. Check out his recent "Seven Personalities" for a lesson in stunning composition and stage performance. This is his original, very personal piece. In this instance you really do need the English subtitles to fully appreciate its existential observations. Ideally fnd the clip from his 2019 Mars concert.

Happy New Year! Love Hua Chenyu. He's actually a very talented artist and performer. This is one of my favorites. Yes...we musicians know things. aye? What it takes. Melody...YES he has a fine ear there.. As does Dimash. Some major talent coming out of the East. They've taken classical and modern rock and pop from the west and incorporated it beautifully into their own sound. Love it.
S Kirk I so wish more of the Westerners would embrace Hua and Dimash. Love them both. Lucky to be alive to experience these fine and talented gentlemen. Hell yes.
@@kgem5621 They will. Believe it or not...these reaction videos are the best marketing tool around. People share them on FB and Instagram etc .... Look at the full house Dimash had in NYC. However, when it comes to radio play...not sure where it fits. But...who cares? When was the last time you heard Pavoratti on the radio? Or Sarah Brightman? Yet...they had worldwide fame and success. Also...it would help if there was better English translation for westerners. Or at least the lyrics posted in English.

Ordinary Path is actually a cover song for HuaHua. When he rearranged the song, he inserted the melody from another song he wrote (The Mayfly) for the "Oooooo" parts he sings with the chimes. HuaHua is just a musical genius whether composing or rearranging ❤❤ Happy New Year to you!! 🎉

This song was composed by the terrific songwriter Pu Shu. On Singer the contestants are only allowed to do two of their own songs. For Hua Hua that was Qi Tien and I Don't Care. If you relly like the composition of this song, which you seemed to, check out No Fear in my Heart. Pu Shu doesn't sing as well as he writes, so try the version by Su Bei Bei. It's wonderful.
