Louis R. Pasquale, MD is a physician-scientist with a particular interest in the pathogenesis of primary open-angle glaucoma. Dr. Pasquale serves on the editorial board of the following journals: Ophthalmology Glaucoma, International Glaucoma Review, and American Journal of Ophthalmology. He was a former member of the National Institute of Health’s National Advisory Eye Council, a past Vice President of ARVO, and current president of the New York Glaucoma Society. Furthermore, he is a member of the American Ophthalmological Society and the Glaucoma Research Society. He has published extensively and given numerous named lectures as well as keynote presentations throughout the world. Dr. Pasquale is an NIH Principal Investigator with continuous support since 2006. His current research focuses

on understanding the complex genotype-phenotype correlations operative in primary open-angle glaucoma.
Sally Baxter, MD is a physician and informaticist integrating comprehensive ophthalmic care with research investigation in big data, artificial intelligence, and health information technology systems. She is the first ophthalmologist to receive the NIH Office of the Director’s Early Independence Award and was recognized in Ophthalmology Management’s “40 Under 40” list. Dr. Baxter is the Chief of the Division of Ophthalmology Informatics and Data Science at the University of California San Diego, chair of a data standards workgroup at the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), member of the AAO Committee on Artificial Intelligence, and co-lead of the Observational Health Data Sciences and Informatics Workgroup in Eye Care and Vision Research. She is the PI of multiple grant-funded research studies and training programs and has over 75 scientific publications. She is double board-certified in both ophthalmology and clinical informatics.
Anthony Khawaja, MD is Associate Professor and Honorary Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology and Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, UK. He is currently a UK Research & Innovation Future Leaders Fellow and a Lister Institute of Preventive Medicine Fellow. Anthony’s research training began with a Wellcome Trust funded PhD programme at the University of Cambridge, including a Berkeley Fellowship supported period at Harvard Medical School. Anthony’s research interests concern the genetic and environmental causes of glaucoma and his ultimate aim is to develop prediction models that can enable efficient population screening of glaucoma and more personalised care of glaucoma patients in the clinic. Recent awards include American Academy of Ophthalmology Senior Achievement and Secretariat Awards, and a National Health Service Bronze National Clinical Excellence Award.
Stuart MacGregor, PhD is Head of the QIMR Berghofer Statistical Genetics Group, based in Brisbane, Australia. Over the last 20 years, Stuart has made seminal contributions to our understanding of complex trait genetics for a wide range of diseases (275 publications, ~25% on glaucoma). He plays a leading role in consortium science, particularly in the area of genome-wide association studies (GWAS). His work developing and applying statistical genetic methods has led to publications in top journals such as Nature and Nature Genetics (26 publications). Stuart has received many awards including the Australian Academy of Science Human Genetics Medal and the QIMR Berghofer Breakthrough Award (for his work on glaucoma genetics). In addition to his academic work, he is a co-founder of Seonix Bio, a start-up that seeks to improve the treatment and prevention of blinding eye disease, through the development of advanced risk prediction tools.
