เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 15 ก.ค. 2020
The Glaucoma Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of people with glaucoma. The Foundation works to encourage and support basic and applied research in glaucoma with a goal of preserving and restoring vision. We strive to be an important resource to help patients, their families, and at-risk individuals to manage their glaucoma through education and outreach.
Dispelling the Myths of Glaucoma Surgery: What Each Patient Needs to Know
Glaucoma surgery is an ever-expanding field, with new procedures and devices available now, with additional options on the horizon. However, not all procedures are appropriate for each patient and the expansive treatment paradigm can be overwhelming for patients. Dr. Misra will discuss the range of surgical options for glaucoma patients, from procedural pharmaceuticals, laser treatments, and minimally invasive glaucoma procedures to traditional filtering surgery. We will debunk certain myths about glaucoma surgery and discuss what each surgery entails, from how to prepare and what to expect, to recovery times and restrictions, so that patients may better understand the options recommended by their provider.

Interventional Glaucoma - What Does it Mean for Patients?
มุมมอง 4482 หลายเดือนก่อน
In “interventional glaucoma,” glaucoma is treated with minimally invasive surgeries or interventional procedures much earlier in the disease process. It is a shift away from the way glaucoma was treated years ago, which typically began with eyedrops and only progressed to surgery at the middle or end of the disease progression. Interventional glaucoma intervenes earlier in the treatment process...

Building Connections: Research Progress in Vision-Restoring Therapy for Glaucoma
มุมมอง 9855 หลายเดือนก่อน
The Johnson Laboratory at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute has spent the past 5 years working to develop stem cell therapies capable of regenerating the optic nerve and restoring vision for patients suffering from glaucoma. This is a challenging goal since it requires the replacement of lost nerve cells in the eye and the building of new connections between these stem cell-derived neurons...

Big thanx to Dr Poonam for such an informative session
Good job. Well done.
Is there any hope ? When will the trials begin
Excellent. Dr. Misra offers comprehensive and understandable information .Thank you for posting this video.
How can I reach to you..?
I lost my vision from a horse accident when I was 13 , I am 43, it’s been 30 years. I want to know if there is anyway I can gain anything?
The Danish doctor's English is absolutely native in fluency.
Thank you, Dr. Radcliffe. I enjoyed your talk very much!
Would this also help those suffering from Naion?
1 gün içinde önce ozon sonra Alfalipolik asit takviyesi al. 6 hafta. Sonra ozon ve glutatyon al 6 hafta. En önemli tedavi bu.
Thank you for inviting this wonderful medic to impart such crucial information in an easily digestible & educational format/delivery - and most importantly for leaving us glaucoma patients with hope for the future of our sight❤
Extremely informative video. Thank you.
Very informative presentation on options for glaucoma treatment. I have watched about 20 of the TGF videos and this is the best one I've seen thus far. Seems to be that there are many many ways to treat glaucoma and the difficulty is attempting to match what the MD likes to do and what might actually be the most effective option for me.
This is a good presentation but we've heard most of this before. Embryonic stem cells were discovered in the 80s, in 2006 Yamanaka figured out how to change adult stem cells into other types of cells. He would go on to win the Nobel Peace prize 2012. It's been over 20 years and we are still hearing the same song and dance about being a few years away. While I appreciate the effort, doesn't seem like the good doctor offered more information in this presentation than he did in the one he gave back in 2023. They seem to be moving this thing along at a snail's pace. Most of us will probably have left Earth by the time they actually figure out how to restore vision if they ever do. At this rate its probably going to be about 40 years before we see anything remotely resembling functional vision restoration.
I have damaged optic nerve in left eye due accident one year before. No vision now. Any hope of getting vision in this birth??
Nope 😢
I agree that home measurements must be a concrete process among Glaucoma patients. I’m waiting for the insurance approval to have it embedded in my routine.
My kids needs to have a father that can see, please, give us hope and set a date.
Thank you very much for this great webinar by Dr. Johnson. It is very useful for broad range of people!
This was and amazing presentation. I have significant damage from Glaucoma and currently working with Dr, Philip Garza in Atlanta to prevent further damage to my vision. The last question in the Q&A applies to me and gives me hope. Thank you
The public needs more access to accurate information about glaucoma. Thanks for uploading this content!
Very insightful!
Are we progressing for a humain trial ?
These comments are all so hopeful and positive. But keep in mind that pure science and research generally progress very slowly and incrementally. We drive cars and know little of how they work, fly in airplanes...ditto, use smart phones...ditto. The eye and it's complexity...well now. Sure, a researcher with a soothing and optimistic sounding voice allows us to be positive. How many years now raising funds for cancer, MS, ALS, Alzheimer's, etc... Understand that scientific researchers often must "publish or perish". Look at today's medical science and you'll see medications and surgical techniques being used that were developed decades ago. Sure, some refinements have occurred and that's good. But in regard to the information in this video, you can find that this strain of research has been going on for some time and you can bet there are maybe only a few dozen scientists involved in regenerative work in any really meaningful way. What I'm trying to say is...don't get your hopes up. As a side note...even the research that was used to justify the annual sales of tens of millions of dollars of "glaucoma drops" is quite...lean.
Bla bla bla for new sponsors….,
That is exactly what it is!!!! Exactly! They are full of $#@&!
Stop eating seed oils
More evidence that movement is medicine
Who can not believe that there is a Divine designer. Or did this all happen though billions or trillions of mutations... Resulting in a more complex form.
I suffer from juvenile glaucoma, I'm 38 years old too young for this disease, having it after the age of 60 or 70 is an immense luxury ! A hospital offered me SLT which I did in only 1 eye luckily ! I lost all central vision towards the nose in that eye immediately after ! SLT is not always the solution !!! it can make your intraocular pressure rise and spike and cause you to lose further sight !
I wish to thank you for sharing this important video with me . Amen
My hands are always warm, and I have late stages glaucoma. Acute open angle. Blind in right eye due to funnel retinal tear. Severely diminished vision in remaining eye...cold hands!!?? Quackery. Quack, quack. Insert imaginary flatulence sound byte here. Anything for a click. Sexy big lipped woman commentator though. Whoopee! Click, click, click. Unbelievable conclusions...literally.
Very nice news. Due to glaucoma my left eye sight is lost and optic nerve damages. My right eye has tunnel v😅. Can you please advise me whether any treatment will bring back eye sight to some extent. Thanks
Was diagnosed with glaucoma in September 2023,my vision was not bad, I started eye drops immediately, but my vision is gone bad, just a few months along the line, the thing is in Africa SLT is actually not talked about by doctors they just depend on eye drops for petients and it pains because there really no other option, Drops are not really realiable
Just had SLT a few days ago. I have been on eye drops for over 20 years. Age 70. Family history of Glaucoma. Thanks for this video. Video gave me a better understanding of options to consider as I move forward in my vision care journey. Really appreciate it!!!
I wish to thank you for sharing this informational video with me . Amen
What a wonderful doctor who talks so clearly and is so knowledgeable to enable us, in this case an individual as me with the problems in mind, to follow his beautiful presentation with great interest and understanding of the core problems. Thank you a million times for this presentation and for enriching us with the information to absorb the gravity of the scientific magnitude and the ongoing progress along this vital field. God bless. Solomon
More power to you guys🫂
I wish to thank you for sharing this video with me . Amen
Political, less than 30 seconds in? Geez.
We Ipon Future Wellness Equipment center already succeeded in restoring a case of a totally blind old man using direct Alternating Current charge of the Japan potential Therapy machine for 6 months and saw vast improvement leading to almost perfect normal sight...
Eyes are irregular because of brain stem stroke, so cures research brought me here
After 3 years , bla bla bla,money sponsors 😅😅😅
I can be used to perform researches lost my eye back in 2006 due to retinoblastoma I never experienced seeing with both eyes it hurts
1st thumb up is mine ;-) .
These procedures and eyedrops mentioned will undoubtedly help people with mild-moderate glaucoma. But what about people like me who have Advanced glaucoma and very poor vision? Is there hope for us? Will our lost vision be restored in the next few years?
There has been a lot of talk about Niacinamide on here but more research is needed because some people who took it have had unpleasant side effects such as liver problems.

Gratitude for the Informative Low Vision Devices Webinar: To President and CEO Elena Sturman (host) and Dr. Steven Schoenbart (presenter) of this webinar, I wanted to express my sincerest gratitude for the recent webinar you hosted on low vision devices for everyday life. The information shared during the session was truly invaluable and has the potential to be life-changing for many individuals, including myself. Your dedication to serving those with glaucoma and helping them navigate their daily lives with greater ease is genuinely admirable. The commitment of The Glaucoma Foundation (TGF) to improving the lives of patients is commendable and greatly appreciated by those who benefit from your work. Thank you once again for your time, expertise, and unwavering support. I look forward to future events and learning opportunities provided by the Glaucoma Foundation. With deepest gratitude and respect,
is the cure already??? They just talk and talk. This information has already been known for 10 years. NOTHING NEW. But the drops and laser do come out all the time and are of no use because the disease progresses the same. WE WANT THE CURE, the rest is useless
is the cure already? All they do is talk and talk. They talk about studies that were discovered 10 years ago, they talk about trials that are never successful, they talk about trials that never go beyond the phase (Jeff Goldberg is a sinister character in this case), they talk about drops, lasers and surgeries that maintain the disease but they generate multiple profits for the laboratories. TALK ABOUT THE CURE FOR GLAUCOMA!!!
