I am late to the debate but do want to contribute. I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a rare disease with no official cure. My doctor suggested an autogolous stem cell transplant. I had a good stem cell match with a brother, but host donor disease could be a life long problem. After 19 days in the hospital I was able to return home for recuperation. Today I am 10 years removed from my transplant. Thank you God my best wishes to all who are considering a stem cell transplant.
Autologous stem cell transplants do work for certain blood cancers. But not in all cases. However, stem cells are approved for a very minimal number of disorders, certainly not for neurodegenerative diseases, organ degenerative diseases or damaged brain.
This is a totally different type of stem cell transplant than the so-called regenerative stem cell transplant. The stem cell or bone marrow transplant you’re referring to which is for people with leukemias, lymphomas, and myeloma blood cancers are FDA approved and done in a hospital setting where a patient either has an autologous SCT where their own stem cells are harvested and frozen and then after conditioning chemo to eliminate their cancerous bone marrow the harvested stem cells are thawed and reintroduced to the patient. Allogeneic SCT is using a donor stem cells and used usually for leukemias or refractory blood cancers, and are more susceptible to Graft vs Host Disease (GVHD). These SCT have been medically tested through trial and controlled studies for years for efficacy, dosing, and safety. That’s why it’s been FDA approved for years and helped many people with blood cancer.
FDA approval and a hospital doesn't mean that the treatment will work and won't cost thousands of dollars. This video is way out of date. Stem Cells therapy treats many ailments, not just blood cancer. MS is a good example. The doctor is wrong. @@tammyslaughter9587

I’m working with a company that sells patches that reactivates your OWN stem cells and there’s no medication involved. I think it’s reckless to say anything will cure any disease since some people will respond and some will not.
This Video is From 2012?: Well in 2015 I was told I would die from my lung diagnosis. After I got out of the hospital, I was in bed on my O2 for 10 months with no improvement until I received a $5500 Stem cell Treatment at the Lung Institute in Scottsdale. I started improving after 3 months and started getting back on my feet again. 2.5 years later I am off the 02 and only sleep at night with low 02. Although I am not 100%, I am far better and slowly getting stronger; back to work too. Wearing an oxygen cannula was such an experience with everyone looking at you, but it was a humbling experience of which I am very thankful for. Do not let anybody steal your hope, and believe that God heals!
this report was five years ago. great steps forward have been made since then. I also know that stem cell therapy has been used with great success in the racehorse industry for over twenty years. Just because of a few idiot con men out there, don't throw out the entire concept. I may have it through my orthopedist in my crummy knee, rather than a TKR.
We have to be cautious here folks. First off all, this video was apparently uploaded in 2012. Progress since that time has been made in the area of Stem Cell/PRP applications (PRP- Platelet Rich Plasma). However, I am not aware that Stem Cells can even at this time help or cure such illnesses as ALS or Cerebral Palsy. But, the one thing that 60 Minutes failed to do and that is, speak to where Stem Cells can have a positive effect as an alternative. That is in the area of Orthopedics. If you are going to discuss a new unproven procedure or drug that is still in its beginning stages, you should cover all basis so you the investigative body (60 Minutes in this case) steers from making themselves look as if they are bias in either way. If 60 Minutes had also spoke on the areas of medicine , particularly once again the benefits of Stem Cells in Orthopedics, this would have been a complete story and 60 Minutes would have looked more credible. Did you notice that the doctor from Duke never mentioned where Stem Cells/PRP was a possible good benefit? Think about it! Yes! I am glad they have and are exposing the Charlatans out there! But lets be complete when telling the 'truth' about what eventually could be a pioneering alternative to surgery or in the case of those facing imminent death, a credible cure one day. As far as I am concerned, 60 Minutes did a great job at exposing the con, but in the process made themselves look as if part of a 'conspiracy' with the drug companies to suppress the other possible benefits to such a treatment by credible medical people. We all know how powerful the drug companies are. Just as we know with living in the 21st Century there are true viable alternatives to fossil fuel, and I am not an environmentalist in the truest since of the word. But I do believe in taking care of our planet. But we continue to still run our cars, planes, trains, etc on fossil fuel. If were to truly go in that direction of fossil fuels, guess who would be put out of business? Big oil companies and our foreign friends in the Middle East; and I call them 'friends' tongue and cheek. So the drug companies are no different. Good credible doctors from major medical universities such as Duke, John Hopkins, UCLA, UCSF, etc and all over the world, have been for years up in arms fighting with the FDA on treatments, drugs surgical procedures that are far beneficial than what is currently available. As far as Stem Cells benefits. It has been shown beneficial from credible clinical physicians in the field of Orthopedics as far as treating tendon, ligament and in some case, but to a slightly lesser degree arthritic issues in knees and shoulders, such as tears or degeneration. I am currently looking into PRP treatments for my knee that needs to be replaced and a rotator tear that also needs surgery. FDA of course has still not officially approved such treatments. Therefore insurance companies will not pay for it. But, there are very credible doctors at major hospital who are performing these procedures. But without insurance it can be expensive. $1000 for PRP/Stem Cell on my knee. These doctors are probably part of a network of physicians who are gathering data for the FDA towards eventual FDA approval. Sorry folks for the long comment. But I couldn't allow this 60 Minutes program to tell only have the story. 60 Minutes, do your homework!!!

Coby Burns Did you have the PRP procedure? If so, what were your results? If you had results with PRP, your results with stem cells should be significantly better. I agree with Jesse in that stem cell therapy looks very promising for orthopedics, and you shouldn’t let this 60 Minutes segment scare you off. It’s been two years since Jesse wrote his message, so I’m sure the therapy is even better than when he was looking at it. Heck, it’s even progressed since you left your comment. I’ve recently been doing a lot of stem cell research since I need a knee replacement but will have to 15+ years before they will even entertain a replacement as an option for me. Insurance won’t pay for the surgery until I’m 60, plus it’s difficult to find a surgeon that will perform the surgery on a patient younger than 60. I can’t imagine suffering through this pain for almost two more decades. What is my knee going to look like after so many years of bone grinding on bone if there’s already no cushion in the joint now?! I have seen before and after stem cell therapy pictures from reputable medical facilities that have given me a lot of hope. One picture showed a “before” knee that didn’t have any cartilage remaining (like mine), and an “after” healthy knee with a nice, thick medial and lateral meniscus. I believe the after picture was taken right around a year of the stem cell therapy. I am going to proceed with stem cell therapy on my knee as soon as I can save up enough money. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer until at least the orthopedic stem cell procedures (that can be easily proven to be successful with x-rays) are covered by insurance.
Don't degrade stem cells treatment. I have had some friends whose children were suffering from Autism and were recommended stemcell treatment and after undergoing this treatment in India these kids are doing great, today they are like any normal kids, Stemcell treatment is getting advanced and there are body transplants taking place on an experimental basis in India, even though it is not become public , when doctor's write off a patient saying "there is nothing much we can do " stemcell treatment treatment is known to have cured the patients completely
I am an Indian physician. There are such charlatans the World over. South America, Singapore, Taiwan, India and many other unregulated parts of the World. First, these claims need to be verified. Asperger's spectrum disorder (Autism spectrum) is very broad. The mildest forms of autism are not even noticeable in society unless one has insight into developmental disorders. Was any of these kids suffering from severe autism (Pervasive Developmental Disorder)?? I will sign off my entire wealth to you if any PDD patient is shown to improve with stem cell therapy objectively in a trial monitored by Developmental Diseases experts. It has been 5-6 years since this video, and I already have people close to me with Multiple Sclerosis got better with stem cell therapy. So there are indeed breakthroughs since this video, we may just not be looking at the right place.
There is a distinct difference between embryonic stem cells and adult stem cell. This video relates to embryonic stem cells which are not of the patients own body. Adult stem cells are from the patients themselves, harvested SC trapped in their fat or from their own bone marrow. We are all, already familiar with Adult stem cells. Adult SC is demonstrated whenever we have an injury that heals, the miracle of our own self healing. The therapy is to flood the area of injury with more stem cells; get more stem cells from/in our own bodies to areas with problems.
Umbilical cord stem cells are different from embryonic stem cells. In fact, they have been shown to be more robust than fat derived or bone marrow cells from a person with a disease as their stem cells are slightly dysfunctional. Check out The Stem Cell Institute as they have more published papers on the subject of stem cells. The doctor who is ahead of Duke University's stem cell department has not kept up with current world data. Unforgivable.
mark moses Most embryonic stem cells are from abortions which is murder. I thought families saved umbilical cord stem cells for treatment of their children. I doubt that when someone is injured, that stem cell won't work so well. Don't know for sure. Hope so. As stated, this is really old. A friend had stem cells replaced for Leukemia, and that has been some years ago. She is still surviving. Don't know how well, but she is surviving.

Now, in 2014, ^0 minutes should do a show on how many people are successfully treated everyday by stem cells. We are in 2023. 8 years since you posted this. The world of science is still almost where it was when you typed your comment. There is still no cure for any auto immune disease. HSCT is still controversial. AIDs have claimed so many lives during those years and will continue doing that for decades to come.

60 Minutes is the farce here. As always, as an educator, when I can bare to sit through one of their features, 60 Minutes is a wealth of content for a class on how NOT to engage in objective reporting. For one, there is countless research proving the validity of stem cell therapies. In fact, Nobel Prizes are awarded for these breakthroughs. How could a story leave this out? Well, we all know why. Also, all professions have deviant, character flawed individuals as members - including medicine, those who would exploit a good thing - like breakthrough in science. Picking one of these individuals as the only face on a revolutionary field of medicine is ridiculously bad media. I cannot call this journalism. It's not even well done propaganda; but then again, propaganda is the lowest form of communication - a parity, really, to those of a critical thinking mindset. Another tell-tale exposure to this indirect pharmaceutical infomercial, is the "expert" source at Duke: a completely governmental sponsored lab just oozes credibility. We all know these so-called experts will report only that which corresponds to the belief systems of the entity funding them, or else. The Duke expert is just as much a fraud as the scam artist is in the feature, even her body language is the same. Report the whole story instead of framing your agenda. It hurts to watch this and to know how many people could be helped if real science took the place of the fear mongering that's going on in this feature. Shame on 60 Minutes for exploiting this family's doubts. Hockey legend, Gordie Howe, his life was just saved by stem cell therapy. He was on his death bed for months until his kids finally took him to Mexico for a procedure. Later, that very week, he was a guest speaker at a major function. Get out of the way of the future, where everyone gets to experience wellness. 60 Minutes is just another source, utilized by the old power structures, to maintain the old paradigm of "healthcare". Perhaps they have money in patented drugs that tries to accomplish what stem cells accomplish. Stem cells can't be patented thus the prescription drug industry is not interested in stem cells. The hospital industry is in cahoots with the insurance industry.

Im an engineer so I know what its like to be around stuff that is in testing and not yet published. I think it is pathetic when people are so hesitant to do anything that might cause harm/ damage. 'You cant make an omelette without breaking a few eggs' best sums it up. ASSE might suggest using steel mesh gloves and eye protection when cutting a piece of paper lol.
So I am 7 months out. I have a severe limp. I am in pain all the time. I can not crawl out bed. If I want to move I I have to grab the edge of my bed. My specific ailment is avascular necrosis. Think of this as arthritis. The doctor charged me $12,500. This ends with a hip replacement. I had a year of unnecessary pain because I cancelled my schedule surgery in December. My doctor never spoke to me not once after he gave me stem cells. Imagine having that situation and suffering it alone.

If I recall correctly, the father received several super, mega, doses of stem cells. That amount of stem cells is out of reach for 99% of those paying out of pocket for therapy.

We did a treatment for autism in Panama. Absolutely NO results and it cost us 20k. The clinic was very nice and the accommodation was excellent, but no result.

Stem cell treatments have come far since this 2012. 60 minutes did this investigation on this particular doctor selling dead cells as viable curing stem cells.

I agree. What we do is tell our customers about the potential or what had already been done (eg. rat's heart grown, human finger regrown, etc). Stem cell professionals should not mislead any customers. Many medicine that's been approved as "safe" by the FDA have been recalled. The damage to mankind is far greater.
You will not find these stem cell docs posting before and after x-rays of someone who had knee stem cell therapy. They have all these seminars but they will not bring in a former patient.
Administration of my adipose stem cells in 2017 returned my quality of life. We live in a time where Western medicine frequently does more harm than good. I was given a crippling, incurable spinal cord disease during a diagnostic test administered by epidural that accidentally punctured the arachnoid lining of my spine. It took me from a very active woman walking up to 11 miles a day and dancing competitively to someone who was bargaining for hours I could stand to be on my feet each day. We were DXing a condition that had left me unable to sit for the prior two years so no longer being able to support my own weight in standing and struggling to lift my arms, was a hard pill to swallow. I was going to be bed bound and dealing with the advancement of a condition referred to as the pain of terminal cancer without the relief of death. Was it experimental with no promises? Yes. I trusted it because a doctor in TN had returned to her practice after years in a wheelchair after having the treatment from a doctor in AZ claiming to specialize in it. Did it cost a lot out of pocket? Yes. Did it change my life? Absolutely. Within four months I regained the full use of my arms and legs. I did return at two years for a second treatment, primarily because my level of activity had created new injuries in new body parts. I'm now one year past that second treatment and I am so grateful. My life was a nightmare and the extraction and injection of my own stem cells gave me a second chance. I still can't sit but I am at least back to square one, which is an amazing gift I thought was out of reach. I know others who haven't been so successful. I think stem cells as a proven solution are a long way off and it's a shame that there are expensive scams defrauding innocent people and stealing their hope.

I believe Dr. Sabrina Solt in the same area has continued his work. Today there are many clinics for these kinds of treatments but I have not needed more stems since my 2nd and last treatment in 2019.

As a current physician up to date with recent regenerative medicine research and a interventional orthopedics physician I have never seen any real data that shows even remotely promising results for CP, ALS, MS. That being said I know research is being aggressively spent in those areas. I would also disclose this is not my specialty. I advise and treat for orthopedic injuries.
To answer your question about the positive indications that answer is long, but for orthopedic issues the results are very good for Osteoarthritis and degenerative issues. Stem cells will not regenerate cartilage or has been shown to do that without doubt as of yet. Stem cells if taken from you (autograph) by definition they cannot be bad because they are you own, concentrated, injected back into an area of need under guidance, ideally.
currently Stem Cells have limited evidence they can do that. That being said, the cause of the pain in a osteoarthritic knee Stem Cells are quite effective to treat.

Are you aware of them and if so, do you feel they are legit and are able to correctly extract and reinject Platelet Rich Plasma to reduce inflammation for achilles tendonitis/osis? I appreciate any info, I just don't want to end up a casualty of scam artists.
Doctor, my own orthopedist had stem cell therapy for his own knee - he stands hours and hours over that surgery table. I am thinking about it for my own knee rather than a TKR. Too bad insurance doesn't cover it yet.

Stem Cell has helped my son. Big Health Care doesn't want us to have this power! Thats why we have to travel to other countries to have it done. Such a shame they are so greedy.
Stem cell can work. This program obviously has an agenda! There is a place for this but not right now. Maybe in the future it might matter but for now, get on with it. CP and autism don't have a quick fix and acceptance is the key, as with other disability. Sometimes things just are so don't fix what isnt broken and accept differences.
I have chronic Asthma, just really bad Asthma and I am on Nucala but it is not enough. Thought about stem cells but this is so new, what if years down the line I end up with something worse? very confusing for me. The Eckland chap is a fantastic actor, pretending he's got a license to practice medicine and prescribe controlled substances . Notice when 60 Minutes rock up at the hotel he couldn't get his words out. The fact he was prepared to deliver a specialised treatment in a hotel room not hospital is dodgy and the fact the dead cells are mixed in South America, one of the filthiest parts of the globe, prove he's not a real doctor and he doesn't have a lab, just a bedroom where experiments go wrong. The FDA has only approved one stem cell and that Hematopoietic stem cells from umbilical cord. And I believed the lab will be in hospitals where generating new blood cells would be cost effective for blood transfusion. Stem cell therapies is LEGAL IN TEXAS, so that the state you should go where the physicians and labs are accredited. The FDA do have requirements to become what is an approved and accredited stem cell lab.

As I understand it stem cells are going to regenerate damaged tissues but won't stop the causes of a chronic disease. For instance in Alzheimer's there's a build up of toxic metals and viruses in the brain that cause damage over time. Stem cells could repair the damage but the toxic metals and viruses would remain and damage would reoccur again. If you get the metals out and boost the immune system to keep viruses at bay and go for stem cell therapy after /then/ you have a cure :)
How about allowing stem cells to be tested in these sick people and lets see what it does. If it helps great if it doesnt work the world can move on and try other things.
New therapies with stem cells can be followed on www.clinicaltrials.gov. Medical journals are global, they publish peer reviewed research done all over the world. You should be able to track them through phase one, phase two and phase three trials. When stem cell therapies are ready you will hear about it on the news, everyone is anxious for that.
WHAT ABOUT IN 2017 PROCEDURES? IN THIS VIDEO THEY SHOW WHICH IS NOT PROPER CORD BLOOD BANKING (STEM CELLS) . BUT THEY NEVER SAID THE STEM CELL TREATMENT IS NOT CURE OR CORRECT.
This segment did not age well. The only thing uncovered was the possible low quality of stem cells that were provided. Stem cell therapy overall has proven to be safe and very effective even in cases where 60 minutes and others claimed they would not be effective treatments. I will personally be trying several different treatments very soon. First with PRP injections that are legal in the US and then stem cell injections and then in Mexico or possibly Panama where you can get IV stem cell therapy.
@@bonran PRP and stem cells worked for me. Not 100% on everything but I saw improvements anywhere from 95% better on parts of my back to around 40%+ for my lungs. The stem cells in America didn't work much for me because they are weak, can not be incubated and grown to sufficient levels, 100's of millions. Big pharma can't patented it and doctors/surgeons will loose too much money. I went to Mexico and spent 17k for the good stem cells, will be going back next year for more. Most of the top UFC athletes have gotten them and the results speak for themselves.
How about the highly successful stem cell treatments like Dr. Marban's from Cedars Sinai hospital? CBS did a nice segment on that but how about asking why the FDA and big pharma won't let the successful treatments out? The patients have two choices, death or successful stem cell treatments.

I am late to the debate but do want to contribute. I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a rare disease with no official cure. My doctor suggested an autogolous stem cell transplant. I had a good stem cell match with a brother, but host donor disease could be a life long problem. After 19 days in the hospital I was able to return home for recuperation.
Today I am 10 years removed from my transplant. Thank you God my best wishes to all who are considering a stem cell transplant.
Autologous stem cell transplants do work for certain blood cancers. But not in all cases. However, stem cells are approved for a very minimal number of disorders, certainly not for neurodegenerative diseases, organ degenerative diseases or damaged brain.
This is a totally different type of stem cell transplant than the so-called regenerative stem cell transplant. The stem cell or bone marrow transplant you’re referring to which is for people with leukemias, lymphomas, and myeloma blood cancers are FDA approved and done in a hospital setting where a patient either has an autologous SCT where their own stem cells are harvested and frozen and then after conditioning chemo to eliminate their cancerous bone marrow the harvested stem cells are thawed and reintroduced to the patient. Allogeneic SCT is using a donor stem cells and used usually for leukemias or refractory blood cancers, and are more susceptible to Graft vs Host Disease (GVHD). These SCT have been medically tested through trial and controlled studies for years for efficacy, dosing, and safety. That’s why it’s been FDA approved for years and helped many people with blood cancer.
FDA approval and a hospital doesn't mean that the treatment will work and won't cost thousands of dollars. This video is way out of date. Stem Cells therapy treats many ailments, not just blood cancer. MS is a good example. The doctor is wrong.

This Video is From 2012?: Well in 2015 I was told I would die from my lung diagnosis. this report was five years ago. great steps forward have been made since then. I also know that stem cell therapy has been used with great success in the racehorse industry for over twenty years. We have to be cautious here folks. First off all, this video was apparently uploaded in 2012. Progress since that time has been made in the area of Stem Cell/PRP applications (PRP- Platelet Rich Plasma). However, I am not aware that Stem Cells can even at this time help or cure such illnesses as ALS or Cerebral Palsy. But, the one thing that 60 Minutes failed to do and that is, speak to where Stem Cells can have a positive effect as an alternative. That is in the area of Orthopedics. If you are going to discuss a new unproven procedure or drug that is still in its beginning stages, you should cover all basis so you the investigative body (60 Minutes in this case) steers from making themselves look as if they are bias in either way. If 60 Minutes had also spoke on the areas of medicine , particularly once again the benefits of Stem Cells in Orthopedics, this would have been a complete story and 60 Minutes would have looked more credible. Did you notice that the doctor from Duke never mentioned where Stem Cells/PRP was a possible good benefit? Think about it! Yes! I am glad they have and are exposing the Charlatans out there! But lets be complete when telling the 'truth' about what eventually could be a pioneering alternative to surgery or in the case of those facing imminent death, a credible cure one day. As far as I am concerned, 60 Minutes did a great job at exposing the con, but in the process made themselves look as if part of a 'conspiracy' with the drug companies to suppress the other possible benefits to such a treatment by credible medical people. As far as Stem Cells benefits. It has been shown beneficial from credible clinical physicians in the field of Orthopedics as far as treating tendon, ligament and in some case, but to a slightly lesser degree arthritic issues in knees and shoulders, such as tears or degeneration. I am currently looking into PRP treatments for my knee that needs to be replaced and a rotator tear that also needs surgery. FDA of course has still not officially approved such treatments. Therefore insurance companies will not pay for it. But, there are very credible doctors at major hospital who are performing these procedures. But without insurance it can be expensive. $1000 for PRP/Stem Cell on my knee. These doctors are probably part of a network of physicians who are gathering data for the FDA towards eventual FDA approval. Sorry folks for the long comment. I’ve recently been doing a lot of stem cell research since I need a knee replacement but will have to 15+ years before they will even entertain a replacement as an option for me. Insurance won’t pay for the surgery until I’m 60, plus it’s difficult to find a surgeon that will perform the surgery on a patient younger than 60. I can’t imagine suffering through this pain for almost two more decades. What is my knee going to look like after so many years of bone grinding on bone if there’s already no cushion in the joint now?!
I have seen before and after stem cell therapy pictures from reputable medical facilities that have given me a lot of hope. One picture showed a “before” knee that didn’t have any cartilage remaining (like mine), and an “after” healthy knee with a nice, thick medial and lateral meniscus. I believe the after picture was taken right around a year of the stem cell therapy.
I am going to proceed with stem cell therapy on my knee as soon as I can save up enough money. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer until at least the orthopedic stem cell procedures (that can be easily proven to be successful with x-rays) are covered by insurance.

There is a distinct difference between embryonic stem cells and adult stem cell. This video relates to embryonic stem cells which are not of the patients own body. Adult stem cells are from the patients themselves, harvested SC trapped in their fat or from their own bone marrow. We are all, already familiar with Adult stem cells. Adult SC is demonstrated whenever we have an injury that heals, the miracle of our own self healing. The therapy is to flood the area of injury with more stem cells; get more stem cells from/in our own bodies to areas with problems.
Umbilical cord stem cells are different from embryonic stem cells. In fact, they have been shown to be more robust than fat derived or bone marrow cells from a person with a disease as their stem cells are slightly dysfunctional. Check out The Stem Cell Institute as they have more published papers on the subject of stem cells. The doctor who is ahead of Duke University's stem cell department has not kept up with current world data. Unforgivable.

I doubt that when someone is injured, that stem cell won't work so well. Don't know for sure. Hope so. As stated, this is really old. As always, as an educator, when I can bare to sit through one of their features, 60 Minutes is a wealth of content for a class on how NOT to engage in objective reporting. For one, there is countless research proving the validity of stem cell therapies. In fact, Nobel Prizes are awarded for these breakthroughs. How could a story leave this out? Well, we all know why. Also, all professions have deviant, character flawed individuals as members - including medicine, those who would exploit a good thing - like breakthrough in science. Picking one of these individuals as the only face on a revolutionary field of medicine is ridiculously bad media. I cannot call this journalism. It's not even well done propaganda; but then again, propaganda is the lowest form of communication - a parity, really, to those of a critical thinking mindset. Another tell-tale exposure to this indirect pharmaceutical infomercial, is the "expert" source at Duke: a completely governmental sponsored lab just oozes credibility. We all know these so-called experts will report only that which corresponds to the belief systems of the entity funding them, or else. The Duke expert is just as much a fraud as the scam artist is in the feature, even her body language is the same. Report the whole story instead of framing your agenda. Im an engineer so I know what its like to be around stuff that is in testing and not yet published. I think it is pathetic when people are so hesitant to do anything that might cause harm/ damage. 'You cant make an omelette without breaking a few eggs' best sums it up. ASSE might suggest using steel mesh gloves and eye protection when cutting a piece of paper lol.

So I am 7 months out. I have a severe limp. I am in pain all the time. I can not crawl out bed. If I want to move I I have to grab the edge of my bed. My specific ailment is avascular necrosis. Think of this as arthritis. The doctor charged me $12,500. This ends with a hip replacement. I had a year of unnecessary pain because I cancelled my schedule surgery in December. My doctor never spoke to me not once after he gave me stem cells. Imagine having that situation and suffering it alone.

I have also watched that segment. The improvements Mel’s father experienced after treatment were near miraculous. If I recall correctly, the father received several super, mega, doses of stem cells. That amount of stem cells is out of reach for 99% of those paying out of pocket for therapy.

Administration of my adipose stem cells in 2017 returned my quality of life. We live in a time where Western medicine frequently does more harm than good. I was given a crippling, incurable spinal cord disease during a diagnostic test administered by epidural that accidentally punctured the arachnoid lining of my spine. It took me from a very active woman walking up to 11 miles a day and dancing competitively to someone who was bargaining for hours I could stand to be on my feet each day. We were DXing a condition that had left me unable to sit for the prior two years so no longer being able to support my own weight in standing and struggling to lift my arms, was a hard pill to swallow. I was going to be bed bound and dealing with the advancement of a condition referred to as the pain of terminal cancer without the relief of death. Was it experimental with no promises? Yes. I trusted it because a doctor in TN had returned to her practice after years in a wheelchair after having the treatment from a doctor in AZ claiming to specialize in it. Did it cost a lot out of pocket? Yes. Did it change my life? Absolutely. Within four months I regained the full use of my arms and legs. I did return at two years for a second treatment, primarily because my level of activity had created new injuries in new body parts. I'm now one year past that second treatment and I am so grateful. My life was a nightmare and the extraction and injection of my own stem cells gave me a second chance. I still can't sit but I am at least back to square one, which is an amazing gift I thought was out of reach. I know others who haven't been so successful. I think stem cells as a proven solution are a long way off and it's a shame that there are expensive scams defrauding innocent people and stealing their hope.

As a current physician up to date with recent regenerative medicine research and a interventional orthopedics physician I have never seen any real data that shows even remotely promising results for CP, ALS, MS. That being said I know research is being aggressively spent in those areas. I would also disclose this is not my specialty. I advise and treat for orthopedic injuries.
To answer your question about the positive indications that answer is long, but for orthopedic issues the results are very good for Osteoarthritis and degenerative issues. Stem cells will not regenerate cartilage or has been shown to do that without doubt as of yet. Stem cells if taken from you (autograph) by definition they cannot be bad because they are you own, concentrated, injected back into an area of need under guidance, ideally.
currently Stem Cells have limited evidence they can do that. That being said, the cause of the pain in a osteoarthritic knee Stem Cells are quite effective to treat.

Are you aware of them and if so, do you feel they are legit and are able to correctly extract and reinject Platelet Rich Plasma to reduce inflammation for achilles tendonitis/osis? I appreciate any info, I just don't want to end up a casualty of scam artists.
Doctor, my own orthopedist had stem cell therapy for his own knee - he stands hours and hours over that surgery table. I am thinking about it for my own knee rather than a TKR. Too bad insurance doesn't cover it yet.

Cerebral palsy is a tough one. I would be highly suspect of any therapy with unrealistic expectations.

Stem cell can work. This program obviously has an agenda! There is a place for this but not right now. Maybe in the future it might matter but for now, get on with it. CP and autism don't have a quick fix and acceptance is the key, as with other disability. Sometimes things just are so don't fix what isnt broken and accept differences.

I have chronic Asthma, just really bad Asthma and I am on Nucala but it is not enough. Thought about stem cells but this is so new, what if years down the line I end up with something worse? very confusing for me. I want to try it but I do not even know if it has really helped anyone with Asthma. All these companies offereing treatment do not seem too convincing.

The Eckland chap is a fantastic actor, pretending he's got a license to practice medicine and prescribe controlled substances . Notice when 60 Minutes rock up at the hotel he couldn't get his words out. The fact he was prepared to deliver a specialised treatment in a hotel room not hospital is dodgy and the fact the dead cells are mixed in South America, one of the filthiest parts of the globe, prove he's not a real doctor and he doesn't have a lab, just a bedroom where experiments go wrong. All the hallmarks of a scam that could cost lives!

The FDA has only approved one stem cell and that Hematopoietic stem cells from umbilical cord. And I believed the lab will be in hospitals where generating new blood cells would be cost effective for blood transfusion. Stem cell therapies is LEGAL IN TEXAS, so that the state you should go where the physicians and labs are accredited. The FDA do have requirements to become what is an approved and accredited stem cell lab.

As I understand it stem cells are going to regenerate damaged tissues but won't stop the causes of a chronic disease. For instance in Alzheimer's there's a build up of toxic metals and viruses in the brain that cause damage over time. Stem cells could repair the damage but the toxic metals and viruses would remain and damage would reoccur again. If you get the metals out and boost the immune system to keep viruses at bay and go for stem cell therapy after /then/ you have a cure :)

Medical journals are global, they publish peer reviewed research done all over the world. You should be able to track them through phase one, phase two and phase three trials. When stem cell therapies are ready you will hear about it on the news, everyone is anxious for that.

WHAT ABOUT IN 2017 PROCEDURES? IN THIS VIDEO THEY SHOW WHICH IS NOT PROPER CORD BLOOD BANKING (STEM CELLS) . BUT THEY NEVER SAID THE STEM CELL TREATMENT IS NOT CURE OR CORRECT.
This segment did not age well. The only thing uncovered was the possible low quality of stem cells that were provided. Stem cell therapy overall has proven to be safe and very effective even in cases where 60 minutes and others claimed they would not be effective treatments.
I will personally be trying several different treatments very soon. First with PRP injections that are legal in the US and then stem cell injections and then in Mexico or possibly Panama where you can get IV stem cell therapy.
Good luck to you. PRPs don't work. Nor do stem cells in most diseases. Hey, but it's your money to throw away.
@@bonran PRP and stem cells worked for me. Not 100% on everything but I saw improvements anywhere from 95% better on parts of my back to around 40%+ for my lungs.
The stem cells in America didn't work much for me because they are weak, can not be incubated and grown to sufficient levels, 100's of millions. Big pharma can't patented it and doctors/surgeons will loose too much money.
I went to Mexico and spent 17k for the good stem cells, will be going back next year for more. Most of the top UFC athletes have gotten them and the results speak for themselves.

In 2024. They provide real stem cell and it’s on the up and up the doctors just aren’t there yet. Either they were trained in Columbia or Mexico and aren’t up to par to European and American standards
