Justin, I agree with and appreciate, the fine compliments that you pay Prince Philip. However, he was not a gentleman of the old British Empire. The British Empire ceased to exist in 1945 and Philip didn't marry the Queen until 1947. The Empire was replaced with the Commonwealth and like the Queen, Prince Philip dedicated himself to its cause. The Empire was gone before Philip was on the scene. The days of colonialism ended and were replaced by voluntary membership in the Commonwealth of Nations.

walked past, and found a gate, like going
into a pasture. His dog, from his youth
was there, as well as a guy with a notepad.
The deceased guy asked, what was that,
up the road? Oh, that is to lure in the treasure

When I was in The Life Guards, the Queen and Prince Philip came for lunch at the officers mess and I was on duty. It was my job to look after the Prince. When they were all seated, the Prince asked me for a beer, in a proper pint glass, all the rest had wine. The Queen was very nice as well, I had to pull her chair away at the end of the meal, she said thank you and she slipped the after mint into her handbag.

Darren..I absolutely LOVE hearing your stories from your time with the Royal family. I could listen to them all day...then watch as you cook up a favorite dish of one the Royals. Youre always respectful and so funny...letting us know that while they're indeed Royal, they're also human and have a sense of humor. One of my biggest dreams is to one day meet the Queen..which I know will never happen..but I still hope for it. I'm an American STILL living in Texas where I was born and raised but I've studied the BRF for many, many years. This tribute was bittersweet, funny and so enjoyable. I love watching your channel and hope you continue putting it on for many, many years to come!!

A respectful and heartfelt tribute. From the many documentaries and interviews I have seen over the years, there have been so many comments about how the staff enjoyed working for the Royal Family and no hint that there was any problems or difficult Royals. Darren's anecdotes were lovely to hear.

Pharmacy tech here, just finished a shift of covid testing. This weekend I"ll be vaccinating people. Tomorrow on my day off I'm bringing my car in for work first thing in the morning and knew I wanted to get home to some comfort food. I had three eggs to finish off by next week and now I know what I'm using them for! I loved the stories in this video - halfway through them I realized I was smiling ear to ear. Thank you for your stories and memories. Looking forward to making this.

How very considerate and warm your tribute. All your royal stories are absolutely charming. In the USA you must remember that our population grew from Brittan and Scotland and Ireland and of course Germany. My mother's heritage is Scotch-Irish and my father German-Irish. We in the USA were nearly part of the monarchy and were taught this as children. We thought this to be wonderful and imagined that some of us might be related to royalty. Every girl wanted to be a princess and every boy wanted to be a prince when I was a youth in the very early years of school. ...Your recipes are fun and you make them seem so doable...and they are. Thank you.
