SYND 2 7 78 DROUGHT CONFERENCE IN SENEGAL

(30 Jun 1978) A summit conference between the presidents Leopold Cedar Senghor of Senegal and Dawda Kairaba Jawara of Gambia to discuss the joint development of the gambia river. It is planned to use 10,000 hectares of land for irrgation while two dams will provide electricity for industrial agricultural and domestic use in the region.
